PAFELL Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I understand that Chris Ronnie and his team have asked for this 'period of exclusivity' which lets them look through the books and decide whether to make an offer or not - and obviously what exact level to pitch it at. There is some frustration on their side as they have not had some vital info from the club, but it may come at any time. There should also be confidentiality letters signed soon, so it might become hard to find out what exactly is happening. I have heard a bit of propaganda being put around behind the scenes against Ronnie - and I wonder what the motives are for this. I thought the club was looking for a buyer, but it seems some are not quite as keen to let go of power. This has suddenly become a crucial time in your club's history - not just deciding a boss, but a future path. On the boss front I think there will be approaches made today, but they will try to keep it as quiet as possible. Still, it makes it more fun finding out... What is the vital info they want from the club? You don't think that the Walker Trust could be re-considering wether to sell the club or not. I believe somebody on this message board said Jack Walkers son in law is on the Rovers board, could it be possible that he would be the one who would stall on the sale of the club - after all he would probable lose his place on the board. If there are some on the board who may not be keen to let go of there power - surely they would have no choice, after all their stance could bring the club itself down.

Ronin Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Suppose you can look at MK Dons as an example of a team with no history (kind of). Granted it's not a hotbed of footy like Lancashire / NW but how are their attendances doing?
spencey7 Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Nicko is conspicuous by his absence... Will he return with the list of six names including four interviewees being touted by SSN...?

Granted it's not a hotbed of footy like Lancashire / NW but how are their attendances doing? Not sure what the relevance is in such a freaky town as MK but here you go: they averaged 9456 with a highest gate of 17250 (vs Morecambe!) and a low of 6483 (vs Macclesfield) From the Dons official site
roversmum Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Probably sitting with his feet up and a glass of this or that watching the Euros like (most of) the rest of us
unleaded Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Right who would you like patrolling the touchline at Ewood.............................
bringdunnback Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Out of those two, either of them. Berg is a favourite whereas Ten Cate has experience and tactical nous.
b12_simon Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Right who would you like patrolling the touchline at Ewood............................. There's no way I'm doing an image search for "Big Dick"
Exiled_Rover Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I think the most important thing we've garnered from these pictures is that a manager simply must wear a suit.
cn_barlow Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 is that your way of telling us the shortlist unleaded?
nicko Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Nicko, in the old days, freelancers used to hang out at airports to spot a 'story' coming or going. Does this still happen? Will we find out if JW & posse are troubling the airlines over the next few days? Where do you think I've been all afternoon? Struck out...ish.
Exiled_Rover Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Where do you think I've been all afternoon? Struck out...ish. The big question on everyone's lips......John Lennon or Manchester.
nicko Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Do tell... I think the four who will be interviewed are...Shearer, Allardyce, Ince and Martinez. NOT McClaren I understand. I think the standby two are Ten Cate and possibly Laudrup, who may be out of range for talks just now. Been round every Manchester airport hotel and had no sightings, but found out that: Shearer will speak at some stage soon. Allardyce is abroad but deffo coming back. Ince has to give Leicester an answer or lose it Martinez - under contract - may well have a secret meeting. I DO think there are different views on the board, but that is probably healthy and part of an interview process.

jprover4life Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 any chance Shearer could be talking now with them, seeing as he isn't on the Beeb?
jprover4life Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Martinez as in the swansea manager? yes indeed

There's something called an 'informatuon pack' which gives a run-down of what the club has and what it owns and - probably - what debts and credit lines they have. I don't know why it should have been so hard to put that together. If another potential buyer goes away - and the Trustees don't lob some funds in - you have to wonder what exactly is going on.
nicko Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 any chance Shearer could be talking now with them, seeing as he isn't on the Beeb? I don't think so, but they could have had a 'conference call' to establish a few things today...
brfc_jonesy Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 yes indeed ...... (Please don't use that word again) that!
jprover4life Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 ...... (Please don't use that word again) that! huh?
