Precisely. I want to go to games, want to feel the excitement as kick off approaching so I'm just hoping that it really doesn't come to his being appointed.

Nicko, is there a story or something about to break on Allardyce ?

Thre has to be something behind this flood of money for him

Its not as easy or clear cut as that. Preston Blue has pumped thousands of pounds into a club he has supported all his life. He is not a new or young fan, or not one of these fans that changes allegiance every year to another club, nor is he a glory supporter.

I can perfectly see his point about BFS, many Rovers fans will share his views as do a lot of people who support other clubs or follow football.

If the BFS Sam is appointed i am going to struggle in trying to give him my support, the guy in my opinion is an utter scumbag who shouldn't be anywhere near the club. And i won't be the only one.

I don't buy into this support the manager or else you aren't a fan rubbish.

Some people on this board were already piping up during this season about not renewing for next year b/c the quality of entertainment on show was not worth the price of the season's ticket. I don't expect that they would think twice about dropping it if Fat Sam brings his set-piece circus to town. Personally, I would take any of the other three candidates ahead of Fat Sam, but as a Rover's supporter it is all about the Rovers' shirt... enough that I cheered on a player that I formerly despised (one Robbie Savage) when he pulled on the blue and white halves! Then again..my support doesn't include shelling out for ST, not from Montreal.

I cannot say I've spent a lot of time in either of their company but I'd guess 90% of this board would find BFS a much more interesting drinking companion than AS.

BFS was way ahead of the rest of the Prem in employing fitness coaches, latest medical techniques, coaching technology and in scanning Europe for talent. If he has spent his time out of the game getting himself as clued up and ahead of the game as he was at Bolton, there can be only one winner- BFS.

I think he could be a very strong candidate if he is being interviewed. But one or two of the others are going to have to fall on their faces for him to get the job.

Doesn't need to explain. I'm normally quite rational about most things but on this occasion I'm fully aware it's the rant of a menopausal female. I can live with it because on this subject it's true. I am irrational.

I read that when he was interviewed for England he gave a brilliant interview with a professional DVD and multimedia presentation (although clearly not quite good enough). I hope he hasn't swung it at the interview

Not worth rising to his patronising comments Vicki.

Not rising so much as eagerly anticipating the next tirade!

On second thoughts, maybe I'll just go to bed instead...

Any fool can do those. Just need the right equipment and basic computer skills. Heck even I could put a decent presentation together. Not that I'd have the football ideas though. rather hear someone talk solidly about his ideas than all that froth and flashy stuff

He does have some recent practice  I'm sure Al can ask a few mates in the Beeb to help him out. No doubt Steve McClaren can give out a few promotional brollies .....

BUT .... What if Allardyce came in and immedietely brought in 2/3 really exciting signings and we were playing good football, scoring plenty and winning? I'd wager you'd soon be back.... and if you weren't then who cares it'd be your own loss.

What if he didn't.......He brings in 2 or 3 - 30+ journeymen, we play route one, with a goals to game record of Kevin Davies? You might still be going down each week, but you'll be whinging like chuff about it.

Not if we come back with 3 points every week!

Bloody hell they'd provide inspiring team talks wouldn't they? Make even Steve Davies look exciting. They'd have to set an alarm clock in the dressing rooms set for 5 to 3!

Any half time bollockings would be like being savaged by a couple of dead sheep.

I dont think either of them are either intelligent or deep thinking enough. Shearer would need Newell alongside to stand any sort of a chance imo.

Did you think that Dalglish and Harford were the most exciting managers when you heard them speak ? You were lucky to make out two or three words out of every Dalglish sentence - and Harford could send himself to sleep. Didn't stop them inspiring Rovers to our greatest moment.

Given the supposed short list - I can't really see beyond Shearer at this moment. Though Billic would still be my outstanding favourite - though the fact his name has yet to be mentioned in the press (or more importantly by Nicko) makes me think he wouldn't be interested. However - a quick exit from the Euro's and who knows

There is movement, but not a lot of money being matched, though there is about a grand being layed on Shearer and has been there for a while.

Ten Cate's price is the biggest mover, down to 5/1.

I'd rather have BFS than Martinez and Ince!

Atleast that way we are guarenteed Premier League football every season.

Had Allardyce stayed at Newcastle I'm pretty certain they would have been relegated.
