Bit of bad news for those who fancy going for a 'good night out'...

There WON'T be a managerial decision until deep into next week.

Let's just leave it at that for now.

This is not relly news.

JW said on Monday he hoped it would take two weeks and to be honest, I expect it will take longer.

This is such a massive appointment, the board and owners have to do everything possible to maximise the chances of getting it right. And that means agreeing how they are going to conduct the selection and not being unduly bufetted by external events.

My gut feel is that Euro08 could be having a bigger influence on Rovers' timing than we are aware of.

Probably has something to do with the Euro 08.

Even if Croatia qualifies for next round, the quarter final matches will be on the 19 or 20 of june.

Right, Nicko?

Does that mean Ince will either have to take the Leicester job or lose it?

Could this be due to the possible sale of the club ? (maybe things are moving on quicker than expected !(if only))

Probably means Rovers feel sufficiently secure in the quality of the field and what they now know about them to know that the club is in control of the process and can do things in the similar way to last time which gave us Sparky and not Dowie.

I'll live with a few more days' wait if it increases the chances of getting the decision as spectacularly right as that one was.

Bit of talk from Fulham boards:

Roy Hodgson is according to my sources in the club going back to Blackburn with a shopping list. Apparantly, he has made an offer for Benni McCarthy and Pederson. I have it that if he get's these two then there will be little left in the transfer kitty for a centre half or another goalkeeper and he may go with Schwarzer and Stockdale as number 2

A mate of mine is working in Blackburn this week and he's just seen Coleman get out of a car at Ewood. Don't know any more than that yet I'm afraid. Interesting though.

Right, can I just point out that anyone betting large sums of money on the say so of a person on an internet site is an idiot. (no offence to the tipster)

However accusations of bet rigging etc etc without proof is going to get deleted.

Sorry but that's the end of conversation/discussion.

Any problems with it, dont post on here please PM me or other mods.

and who is going to sanction the sales this end. i know the chairman probably could but do you think he's got the time or the inclination at the moment?

He has been linked: Coleman to Blackburn?

I think I can remember that he did well with Fulham, but he had Fayed's money and doesn't know how to use a tight budget or am I wrong?

Did they play attractive football?

The more I think about it, the more important for me it is that our new manager plays entertaining football. I think we had a slump in play, with too many longballs towards RSC and Roberts at the end of the season.

I would be surprised if any candidates are being interviewed at Ewood. More likely away from public eyes at Brockhall or in some rather plush hotel somewhere.

He did well with Tiganas team.

His football was mixed, sometimes we would be brilliant, the next week we would be woeful. He's a good motivator.

Coleman on a tight budget bought a load of crap, wasted, only good signings were Niemi, McBride and Bullard. He was offered a deal by Fulham that if he got rid of Kean as his assistant manager and allowed the club to bring in a better assistant he would be given more funds. Unfortunately he stood by Kean.

Stay away from him in my opinion.

What's the point when nicko and his chums have them all staked out and the bellboys know who to ring for a generous tip? However, if Coleman is being interviewed it means Rovers have asked Coventry for permission to talk.

I see Berg has come in a lot on Betfair... also Martinez way out.

Nicko, after seeing all the teams in the Euro's, who's your tip to win it?

I don't think getting Romania in the draw down the pub is so bad now, they could be a suprise outsider like Greece 4 years ago?

You heard if anyone is looking at their centreback Goian? he looked solid.

Anything in Jason Koumas to Hull City for £3million? ...all the 'noise' seems to be coming out of Wigan's end though.

Apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but Ince was interviewed live on BBC5 just before 11am.

Said he's just got back from holiday in Portugal, knows about the Rovers job, hasn't been contacted yet, but expects to know more about his future in the next day or so.

His tone and answers indicated he's definitely interested.

Nicko.

Just reviewing the Chelsea circus..... Scolari is by no means certain and beyong him where could they go? Is a move for a disgruntled Benitez completely out of court? If Lampard goes South, then a Rafa/Gerrard double swoop would be surely too tempting to miss? Particularly as it would devastate a Champions League rival in the process.

Just a thought.

Am not having Paul Ince. When at Inter there was talk of him coming back to England with Rovers interested in signing him, and I remember him slagging us off as a two bit small time club (My words not his.) Well Paul, you're a two-bit small time manager now, so we are not interested in you, so #### off to Leicester why don't you.

After reading quickly through Nicko's comments, it seems to me as though Shearer is dithering, so Rovers will now interview all the other shortlisters, including Ten Cate who's due to fly in at the weekend. - Hence, no decision until next week. We would have had an answer this week if Shearer has agreed to take the job.

How's that Nicko?

First accusations of corruption and then insinuations that Nicko has tendencies towards 'bellboys' & other 'chums'...Where will it end? :o
