yoda Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 First accusations of corruption and then insinuations that Nicko has tendencies towards 'bellboys' & other 'chums'...Where will it end? if it was me, no warnings instant ban
b12_simon Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Nicko, after seeing all the teams in the Euro's, who's your tip to win it? I don't think getting Romania in the draw down the pub is so bad now, they could be a suprise outsider like Greece 4 years ago? I got Romania in a sweepstake as well and that's exactly the straw I'm clinging to
John Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 If Hen Ten Cate was not a psycho, I would start to favour him..
gazsimm Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 If Hen Ten Cate was not a psycho, I would start to favour him.. they were rumours going around that he did cause some dressing room unrest. I bet Ooijer would welcome him though and would probably stay on at Rovers if Ten Cate was appointed
Presty On Tour Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Am not having Paul Ince. When at Inter there was talk of him coming back to England with Rovers interested in signing him, and I remember him slagging us off as a two bit small time club (My words not his.) Well Paul, you're a two-bit small time manager now, so we are not interested in you, so #### off to Leicester why don't you. sums up my thoughts exactly!
broadsword Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I see Berg has come in a lot on Betfair... also Martinez way out. Pay no attention to it, the market's being manipulated by a crack team of deep-cover journalists hidden away in a safe house in Morecambe, working in cahoots with an Osama bin Laden-backed Middle Eastern betting syndicate whose aim is the de-stabilisation of the Western Economy. You heard it here first, "folks".

His words about Rovers were as gratuitously nasty as some of his so-called tackles.

MarkBRFC Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I am having my dinner! Ok, we can talk about that too if you want?
Fife Rover Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 John Pickering signed Duncan McKenzie. Differennt era but shows that the little guy could sign superstars. And yes Pickering was enormously popular with the fans but Iley's 40 days absolutely rocked/wrecked the club from top to bottom meaning that Pickering was difficult to assess in isolation from his Iley inheritance. A salient lesson for today. PS not to go down thenodrog route but all us chaps need a strong antidote to whatever BFS "does" for the ladies. Hmmmmmmmmm! That's the second post that has indicated strongly that my memory is playing tricks on me. I could have sworn that it was Iley that failed miserably and eventually got the push, but that it was Pickering that made a bad job either worse or at least no better. However I have to accept that at my age I do occasionally get confused in my recollections (as my dear wife points out on a daily basis). OK sorry folks I boobed again.
vintageadidas Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Ok, we can talk about that too if you want? Not much to talk about now! It has all gone now. Maybe next lunch time?
mjs Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Pick, pick, pick, pick, pickering, pickering, pickering.

My recollections are of Pickering being a fans favourite, I remember staying behind after one night match in the BBE with a bunch of fans singing Picka Picka Pickering, not sure the occasion. As for the actual accuracy of my memory, well I'm in the same boat as you Fife.
gumboots Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 My only concern about taking our time is the amount of time it will take after the appointment for the new manager to get into his stride, bring in his backroom staff, deal with players being unsetttled and with sorting out new buys. Obviously they are going to come in with a wish list in the back of their minds at least but the longer we delay the more likely it is that potential targets may have been bought by someone else. so, although I'm prepared to wait rather than rush into something that is ot a good appointment, I do hope we don't take too long over it.

I thought the exact same thing this morning when I saw Cisse apparently looking to go to Portsmouth. I'm worried a few key rovers will leave and we will have missed opportunities for replacements.
American Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I have to stress that my comment was probably ill-judged; .... so what I wrote was purely hypothetical. Just like all of your other posts that aren't linking to articles, then.....
joey_big_nose Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I got Romania in a sweepstake as well and that's exactly the straw I'm clinging to I got Romania too! COme on Mutu
rover6 Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Probably means Rovers feel sufficiently secure in the quality of the field and what they now know about them to know that the club is in control of the process and can do things in the similar way to last time which gave us Sparky and not Dowie. Philip, you've surpassed yourself. I say it again, George Bush's spin-doctor role is yours for the taking. You are capable of making the most random, innocuous, mundane Blackburn news appear like a great Rovers achievement.

While I am prepared to wait as long as it takes to get the right man I can see your concerns. However I am not sure too much business is going to be done during the Euros and the trenafer window isn't open yet. Back to the vacant position we have. I read an interview with Billic in the observer a few weeks ago. This guy is the business. Spoke highly of Bentley and seemed very keen on managing in England. I actually feel that if we appointed him it would be a step up from Hughes, there is something about him and I hope he is on JW's shortlist.
philipl Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Just like all of your other posts that aren't linking to articles, then..... Well, I admit my mistakes and don't go trawling for self-quotes when I am right. But I am right on the one that rover6 has just had a go at.
mattyboy6000 Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I read an interview with Billic in the observer a few weeks ago. This guy is the business. with no track record? some crazy swuggestions floating round at the moment. unfortunately none seem as strong as hughes did 4 years ago..
