Half of it.

The good news...Henk Ten Cate IS on the list.

Colours nailed to the mast - I hope he gets it.

Fine. Cutting ones nose off springs to mind. I wish I could believe that but it's rubbish and we all know it. You and others who share your overblown indignation will be viewing from the nearest pub showing Al Jazerra or whatever and then rushing on here to comment on the match.

All you BFS haters (who thought AS was ready and waiting to return like some prodigal son) out there still gonna stop coming in punishment of the BRFC board if we sign him now that it's official the Shearer has bottled out? Williams and the board can only deal with interested parties can't they?

At least this wil make gumboots a little happier.we know she wants Ten Cate as manager, like me.Ten Cates blue and white army.

And how do you know that when I don't even know myself who I'd like to see as manager. I can't see any obvious jump out at you candidate. I have always felt that jobs find people not people find jobs, so somewhere there must be the right man for our job at the moment and when appointed he'll just fit.

If you don't have the bottle to lose out in an interview 'competition' you are no good ass a manager.

Shearer just marked his card...good and proper.

Funny, someone in the game who I respect tipped he would do that at the crunch.

no shearer then ten cate has to be next best option along with ince. forget bfs. his name jsut dosent seem to fill me with enthusiasm <_<

Seems "Henk Ten Cate's Ten Bob Army" goes well and might be more appropriate. Go down especially well if it's alternated with "Small town in Europe"

Dont feel we have lost out on much - just feel we have missed out on the Buzz that shearer would of brought back into the club and the fans.

Henk Ten Cate please MR WILLIAMS

This is good news then. In my opinion Shearer would have been a disaster.

i will be delighted with Ten Cate

I will be gutted with any of the others

so more news today or is that it nicko?

I think that might be enough...

Mind you Big Sam is in for an interview tomorrow. Don't worry he is NOT past the post here.

gutted that shearer tuned us down, give me a break, he was only asked if he was interested in being on the shortlist. So he turned that down, good, alan's time at Rovers ended when he signed for Newcastle,he has no managerial experience of any description so why let him cut his teeth at our club ,any success of any description and he's off back to geordieland. Far to many fans on this board letting hearts rule minds.

what i dont get/pisses me off is how JW said "we have 40 applications and will contact them soon". if shearer turned us down, then he probably did not APPLY for the job did he? i hate being misinformed :angry2:

so are the other 40 "applications" just a list of people the board will ask to do the job also then?

Nicko, was the rumour about Mancini being interested just hot air?

Big possibility now its going to be one of either the bubble gum chewing Walrus or McClown.

FFS COME ON DOWN HENK DEN CATE!

and with that statement nobody would ever manage a club they had played for and left.

I always felt shearer was the weakest personality amongst the big name candidates but he has proved me wrong by having the gumption to pull out clean and early.

Probably still a very good list.

I guess BFS will set a good benchmark tomorrow for the others to beat and I expect one or more will beat it sometime next week. BFS will be extremely professional and superbly well prepared- of that I am absolutely certain and his pitch will be carefully aimed to hit all the hot buttons of the Rovers' board. But it doesn't mean he will get the job ahead of a ten Cate, a Laudrup, an Advocaat or a Bilic.

The wild cards now are the two lower division boys- Ince and Martinez.
