Lot of people within the game think Ince is a big time charlie, like when he made those disrespectful comments about us.

Speaking of disrespectful comments towards us, another manager who has been talked about as a candidate for the vacancy slagged us off not that long ago.

“I was surprised that Barry came back to Rangers from Blackburn,” Advocaat said yesterday. “Mind you, I was surprised he played for Blackburn in the first place. He has much more talent than that, and can and could still play for the top four clubs in England."

Hen Cate is probably the best of a very bad bunch

On Advocaat, ask most people within the game, his man management skills are awful - don't touch...

I have a bad feeling that Ince might get the job. JW did say what kind of manager he was looking for the other day but wouldn't reveal to us. After approaching Shearer it looks like he is looking for a young and hungry manager, I just hope that it isn't Ince. Please JW give the job to Henk!!!!!!!!!!!!

True. He'd learnt that by rote and fluffed it the way someone reciting their lines does.

Doesn't know a Chief Executive from a Chairman either.

But at least he still pronounces Blackburn the way he learnt at Ewood.

Sorry; forgot to throw in 'Narcissistic' as well.

Another example of poor use of the public licence fee by the BBC. It's always a worrying sign when the presenters or commentators in this case allow themselves to be the subject matter of the programme, whilst the little matter of a Euro 2008 between the hosts and Turkey is cast as a bit of a sideshow :angry2: ; you can see I'm a little bitter, even though I've pledged my allegiance already to the HTC.

Ince might have had a call - or Milan knows about it!

Are you publishing a story about Ten Cate tomorrow Nicko ? And if so what is the angle ?

Allardyce talks - Shearer out of it - Ten Cate and a couple of ohers in the frame.

Probably get crushed with the Chelsea news.

If so I will go into detail about what happened in the morning.

Narrow escape...I'm telling you.

I dunno about that, John's been neck and neck with JAL for a long time.

to put him over the top, he needs to put out a wildly pessimistic opening weekend "starting eleven" post, like this...

Hughes gone, BFS in, Bentley, Samba, Nelsen, Warnock, Cruz, Benni all gone, no signings, Route one football, our starting eleven look like this:

Brown

Emerton - Zurab - Flynn - Olsson

Mokoena

Reid -Dunn - Vogel - MGP

Roberts

We'd lose to Luton!

What do you mean by that?

Would Mancini consider the job now the Chelsea job has gone or am I just in dreamland?

Surely there hasn't been such a headline since Garbo!

I have been a bit erratic recently, accepted - but generally, I would say you are wrong.

Thanks for the info Nicko. Just another quick question.Do you know if shearer and JW had discussed anything in terms of a contract eg. 1 year rolling contract/JW telling him he would have to work with a specific person as n° 2 or were the talks not at that kind of level? Just wondering if he wasn't keen on the terms (if any) that were put forward?

Bottled it bigtime. No balls I think. And he has virtually ended his managerial career before it began Im sure. There has to be a good reason for him to take a step back knowing the effect!

Anyway, Sam Allardyce just confirmed he is flying back to England. He also said he was surprised Scolari got the Chelsea job and that someone like Mark Hughes who had done a great job at Blackburn Rovers during his 4 years would have surely taken it and would have been a good British choice...He mentioned the name Blackburn a couple of times during his talk...

Id be surprised if he didnt get the job with Shearer out of the running to be honest. Id be very disappointed if McClaren, Ince or Martinez got it for sure.

"It's Doooomm Dooooom I'll tell ye''

About the worst news we've had - people are turning us down. At last we have something in common with Chelsea

It is not the worse news we've had - it appears that JW has a list of people, Shearer was asked if he wanted to be on this list. The reason it is not bad news is simply we move on to the next candidate. Shearer HAD to be asked first because of previous connections to the club as well as the fans pole - it is also GOOD NEWS as it means that JW IS listening to the fans of Rovers - what more can you ask of him?

Maybe we should start another pole for Henk ten Cate as manager!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like there were talks between the club and Shearer to establish cordial mutual interest etc...but when it finally came to the crunch, ole chicken 'n' beans got cold feet and went into his sincere commitments to the BBC mode...never been one to walk out or break a contract our Alan <_<

Sort of glad that Shearer said no, always felt deep down that he wouldn't be right for the club. I am still hoping for Laudrup.
