If I'd only watched the Rovers when I thought they'd be playing great football, I'd have gone to a tiny fraction of games (if any!) I've been to over the last 30 odd years.

There are umpteen reasons why I don't wan't that ex Bolton lump of lard managing my team, the biggest amongst them being the type of football he'll have the team playing. If BFS does take over, it won't stop me supporting my TEAM, and I'll even be prepared to give the tosser the benefit of the doubt until MGP spends most of the game throwing big bombers into the box from the half way line.

So I'll still be going to the games next season, come what may and whatever type of football we end up watching. I just hope that the board see sense and give the manager's job to a progressive, forward thinking man and not to you know who.

The Ultimate Manager for Rovers!

McSam!

Had to do it...

Long time lurker and small time poster.

Hoping for anything apart from the McClown / Fat Sam options.

After all the hysteria on here today that's brightened up my day no end!

Thanks for that!

Okocha, Diouf and Anelka were fabukously well paid.

Jay-Jay was on a fortune in 2002, Diouf came for a large packet and Anelka was on £75,000-a-week.

Another point Rovers need to consider before buying into this 'New Bolton' idea...all this 'bargain basement genius' stuff does not quite add up.

All three very good players though, and crowd pleasers. If you make The Perfect @#/? Footballer, it wouldn't be far off Diouf, but he is a good player, and I appreciate managers willing to take a punt on rejects - our last manager did well here too. For Bolton, being the boring side that they were under Allardyce - I would think both Okocha and Anelka was worth their money. 75k, that's about 4m a year? Any idea what they paid for him ?

Anyway.. Allardyce is really not what I want. He could probably build a decent team, but he reminds me a bit too much about Souness (who did a good job, this is not an entry to that discussion) - and signing free agents on huge wages can easily bring us into some legal problems, I believe Allardyce has been touched by those reports earlier?

We have a good set of players at our club, our starting eleven is easily top six material with a quality central midfielder and one or two other players. Spurs looks good, and Villa will continue to progress. But compare the current Rovers with the team Sparky inherited - in top shape, with some top players. A decent manager will keep us in the top ten, a good one can push on towards the top six again!

Wind all your necks in.

We dont know whats going on - its all paper tattle, I'd suggest we all calm down until we actually have something to get worked up about.

Mr Williams reads these boards, I'm pretty certain he will take our views on board when the final decision is made, however I have no doubt he will make the decision he thinks represents the best way forward for Blackburn Rovers.

And has he done us wrong so far?

Still, thank the Spaghetti Monster for not employing Shearer

The point I was making about Big Sam and the 'star-name bargains' that he brought to Bolton is this...they all actually cost a lot more money than you would think.

So if the board reckon appointing him will fit within the budget they should reflect on that awhile.

Okocha was great, Anelka worth a gamble. Both paid off. But both cost.

By all means appoint Allardyce if you think he has merits, but this 'shrewd wheeler-dealer' stuff does not actually add up.

Bolton backed him in a big way too. He left because he could not take it any further and was getting a bit big for his size 11s.

Perhaps, but how many of these will remain when the season begins? Friedel, Samba, Nelsen, Bentley, MGP and Santa Cruz have all been linked with moves away. Whilst I don't expect the majority to go, I don't think we'll be able to keep hold of Santa or Bentley, two of our most influential players. Whoever comes in will not find it THAT easy to keep us in the top ten, let alone top six, unless we find quality replacements.

Not sure if its true but i read somewhere that Jordan is so angry that he has terminated season tickets for both Bostock and his step father.

Story is true.

Going back to Allardyce, it's obvious to me he has always been the Rovers board's first choice so what are they waiting for ?

Yes but you hardly needed to post a message on here just to tell us that! No sick notes must mean instant detention in your classes eh gumboots?

Anyway I'm just off for a pee..... then I'm going to make another brew...... back in a minute.

Don't do sick notes or detentions. Keep up. It's all automated in our school. Just a little click on the mouse and someone else does all that for you. School's ain't like they used to be!

PS thought if Mr Shearer could be too busy to take the Rovers job, perhaps I could be too busy to talk about it.

I am sure we thought the same after Bellamy`s departure........ then along came McCarthy. :)

He wasn't - and probably still isn't yet. Otherwise there would be no need to wait.

It sounds like its really heating up.

He's always been a very nice, well rounded individual. Always seems to act so professionally to dissapointment when someone leaves
