The anti-Allardyce feeling could well put the directors in an interesting position. If they listen to the candidates and believe that he has the best plan for taking the club forward - do they appoint him? Or do they think that his appointment will be unpopular with the fans and therefore offer the job to someone who they felt was inferior? It will be an interesting decision.

I just hope that appointment is based on the interviews and that John Williams and co carefully consider what each candidate has to offer in terms of their development plan for the club. Knowing John Williams I have no doubt that he will offer the job to the man he believes can take the club forward irrespective of outside pressures.

I don't want to choose the team. I don't even want to choose the manager if the truth be known but I do feel that at a relatively small club like ours it would be a major mistake to choose a manager who can divide a group of people as easily as the mention of Allardyce possibly becoming manager has divided us. I could go along with just about anybody but him. there are obviously going to be aspects of any manager that you don't like. I don't like all my work colleagues but I get along with them. I don't even like all my family and they don't all like me, I hasten to add, but we make the best of it and live in relative harmony (no pun intended)most of the time. Stop trying to make out that if we can't see your point of view we are somehow inferior. I don't expect everyone to join in my intense dislike of Allardyce and you shouldn't expect me to join in your support or acceptance of him.

This Board with the help of Sir Alan Nixon can stop this happening !!!!

Why can't these people who refuse to go to Ewood if BFS gets the job be classed as genuine supporters?

Obvious WWW....... Because the people who run BRFC would have picked him to manage their / our club. The same people (basically) who appointed Mark Hughes. Rem Sam Allardyce will not have appointed himself. If the board appoint Allardyce it's because they think it is the best decision for the club given the situation at the time.

I don't know if that post was directed at me but frankly your posts went way beyond becoming tiresome some time ago.

You're quite entitled to be opposed to the appointment of Allardyce, the criticism that has come your way from various quarters relates to your point blank refusal to go down to Ewood if he's appointed.

I myself have conceded that whilst I think that Allardyce would be a relatively good appointment, he will find it very difficult to be successful with such a groundswell of opinion against him amongst the supporters.

Why do? you presume to know more than the board Brownie? Have you interviewed any of the candidates?

Moving on Shearer has rubbed the noses of 52% of the vote for him in the dirt. .... yet again! He would make a far more logical target for supporters fury wouldn't he?

Why can't we try and make the board aware that it could affect the club in bigger ways than they might think. Lower attendances and reduction of merchandise sales, which are now back in the hands of the club.

As Nicko says some of the Board favour the cheap cheerful option, not sure whether Allardyce falls into this category, but with the exception of John Williams, I would say the majority of people who post on here have more idea about football than the Board.

Actually have so much faith in John Williams that although worried, I'm sure JW will not appoint the walrus

No criticism of John Williams intended but he once cheerfully admitted to someone I know that at the time he was appointed as our Chief Executive from Granada TV you could write down what he knew about football on the back of a postage stamp.

I would imagine the real cheap and cheerful option is Martinez. You can just imagine how some members of the Board might be thinking:

"Would be cheap as chips in terms of salary and would be so pleased to get the job he wont pester us for any money." :tu:

Wasn't aimed at anyone. More a general feeling that I get that some people think it's wrong to hold an opinion that's not dead in line with their own. I don't think like that. I wish you didn't feel that Mr allardyce was a viable option but I accept you do and I do not resort to insulting others whose opinion is different from mine. there are a number of people on here whose views, though different from my own, I value reading. I don't want to get into a slanging match with anyone. I'm not alone in my views on Mr allardyce but it seems i bear the brunt of criticism for them. and I won't be joining any facebook groups to promote any particular candidate as I too hope that JW and the rest of those involved in electing the new manager will make the best decision. However, I do agree that he needs to be aware of the many concerns different people have about Mr Allardyce hence my joining the no thanks group. If you don't want to read my posts ignore them. I won't know and it won't worry me anyway.

Did anyone listen to Radio Lancs tonight? Two supporters plus Andy Nield and Richard Dinnis. All said no to Maclaren, Ince and Allardyce, yes to Advocaat (if available), possible Laudrup.

Pretty scathing about Shearer.

Like I said, I don't think anyone would dream of criticising you for being opposed to Allardyce's or anyone else's appointment. If you have received any criticism it's for your very vehement stance that you would not even be prepared to give Allardyce a chance nor would you be prepared to attend matches if he was appointed.

As have quite a number of others. again i don't mind your choosing to give him a chance or whatever so i don't see why you should feel that i am wrong to choose to express my dislike of that appointment in my own way. I would never dream of going and booing. there are those who find that perfectly acceptable. We all choose our own way of doing things. it's part of being a free society. I've said so many times that I can see that I may not be displaying the most logical attitude but then, as I said, i hope it won't come to my having to miss matches.

Not as tiresome as you posting that everytime Gumboots posts something you don't agree with. At the end of the day it's her opinion, her money and her choice. She doesn't want Allardyce and frankly neither do myself or the seeming majority on here apart from a couple of you. Although I may have missed it in the 300 odd pages so far I haven't seen you post a definitive statement as to who you would prefer out of the candidates available - if not why not? Are you reserving the right to say I told you so whoever gets it?

Is it about time we eased off a bit? John Williams knows there is a lot of fans who don't want Allardyce and a chunk who have doubts, his supporters are in the minority. I'm in the doubters but would support JW's decision. I don't think that would be giving Sam a job. ;)
