RibbleValleyRover Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 If you have received any criticism it's for your very vehement stance that you would not even be prepared to give Allardyce a chance nor would you be prepared to attend matches if he was appointed. The comments made by those who are perfectly happy to have Allardyce as the next manager have so far, been far more venomous and derogatory towards the posters who share the opposite opinion. There are a number of posters on here who will not accept that people may have a difference of opinion.

gumboots Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 At least Mrs Gumboots is showing her love for the club.she is a passionate supporter.me i hope the new manager is Charlie Brown, with Laurel and Hardy as his assistants. Sounds as good as most of the names put forward. At least we'd have a laugh
RevidgeBlue Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 The comments made by those who are perfectly happy to have Allardyce as the next manager have so far, been far more venomous and derogatory towards the posters who share the opposite opinion. I'd honestly have thought it was the other way round. Also a lot of the criticism of Allardyce has been totally without any foundation. "I don't want him at the club he's a scumbag" or similar. Prompting the comments in reply. Not my first choice, but the way people are going on you'd have thought it was the Yorkshire Ripper we were thinking of appointing.
Iceman Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 We already the joke of the league at the moment.anybody enjoy ince's sucking up to get the job.that guy never liked us,and now he puts up this dramatic "oh Blackburn is a great club" just to swing sum votes his way.what a fake!
gumboots Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I don't use language like that and have been very careful to avoid saying anything that suggests that my reaction to the guy is anything other than personal. Some have said it, I know, and I don't like that any more than you do.
spencey7 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Cue Ronaldinho and his agent running to the slitty eyed one....... Big Collision course set! Proof - if it were ever needed nodrog - that you belong to a (thankfully) anachronistic generation of years gone by. Your opinion on ANYTHING, let alone Allardyce, clearly shouldn't be given creedence when you display such overt ignorance. BFFS's tactics were probably new and revolutionary when that phrase was still in use. Are you Prince Philip in disguise..?
Andy Kennedys Hairdo Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 There are a number of posters on here who will not accept that people may have a difference of opinion. lol :-) It's taken you this long to work that out ?
Bennisfromheaven Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Already a member of the no to allerdyce, but just joined the yes to ten cate. Just became member number 970 on the ,No to allerdyce' group, but theres only 23 members on the Ten cate page!! does this mean nobody wants Ten cate? or they just havent bothered joining!?! We cannot afford to have BFS in charge at rovers simply due to the style of football, Hughes tried for years to change the image of Blackburn from the bully boy tag & though most of us know he played some fantastic football at times we could never shake it. Even if Sam comes in & plays exciting football, the fleet street journos will just tar us with the same brush due to sams previous style. I fear we may never be able to remove such a negative image & this will effect future support!!
Bennisfromheaven Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Maybe in the "We're bully boys & we know we are!!" terrace chant sense but i hated the way the journos would get little digs in the paper at blackburns heavy handed approach after beating arsenal, united etc!! Give us our day in the sun!! ....no pun intended!
gumboots Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Did u get my pm mrs gumboots? Just now. thanks for that.
bazza Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Isn't it fantastic and exciting. All this football talk in the middle of the cricket season. This should be the most boring time of year but it's not now; thanks to Sparky!
S15 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Imagine Arsene Wengers' face if he hears that Big Sam has take over at Hackburn.
spencey7 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Just became member number 970 on the ,No to allerdyce' group, but theres only 23 members on the Ten cate page!! does this mean nobody wants Ten cate? or they just havent bothered joining!?! I think it just goes to show that NOT appointing Allardyce is of far more importance than appointing Ten Cate.
Bennisfromheaven Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Imagine Arsene Wengers' face if he hears that Big Sam has take over at Hackburn. Well he can count on loosing at least one striker through injury at some point this summer!! ....in fact, the idea of sam taking over doesnt seem as bad now!!!
gumboots Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 It also means that there is no clear favourite among the majority of fans. I don't know enough about or of the Dutchman to be able to say definitely that he is the man I want to see at rovers. I've read the things that have been posted on here, but then others have made suggestions that I think might be worth looking at. It's much easier to know what you don't want than it is to know what you do.
tony gale's mic Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Update from the bookies on next BRFC manager......... HTC's odds still ludicrously long...
Blue n White Rover Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Nicko, any news on the manager front? Been a quiet night compared to last night when Shearer bottled it/declined our offer. I'm just praying for Henk now, really hope he gets the job!
John Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I'm just praying for Henk now, really hope he gets the job! Out of interest, is that because you really think he is a top manager? Or because you don't want Sam Allardyce to get it? I certainly don't want Ince to get the job, he speaks like a chav.
novella Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 i personally think its between henk ten cate and sam allardyce now. paul ince will get the leicester job
Presty On Tour Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Even though he is a long shot, Zico has climbed up the table into the frame. I feel there are still more twists and drama before our new manager is named.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 It's not a case of "Henk Ten Cate is the best manager out there". It's more a case of "considering our other applicants and desire to come here, Henk Ten Cate is the best of the bunch."
