How beautifully ironic it would be if we installed Allardyce, and then Chris Ronnie, with his connections to Mike Ashley, came in and sacked him because he wasn't the man he had hired...

In concept it has a certain symmetry. In practice it would be just another expensive mistake for BRFC and another lucky payday for Big Fart Sam. So, perhaps not eh?

60+ pages added yesterday on this thread, WITHOUT ANYTHING AT ALL HAPPENING :blink::closedeyes:

I think I will just tune in next week, instead of wearing out the mouse & keyboard hoping something new will grab the headlines..

Trust JW. Hail Nicko! One love : BRFC :rover:

Nicko, its gone a bit quiet on the Ten Cate link, has the information on this front dried up ?

Fear not. Invites been handed out to quite a few in the past 48 hours. This is going to take time now.

It's becoming obvious that Shearer was the man. When he pulled out there has been a re-think and a re-load.

But, as I say, you missed a bullet there - it's funny how things turn out.

So this reduces the possibility of Allardyce getting the job ?

Are your sources strong enough to discover when and to who the invites are handed out ?

Just been talking to someone who is close to Mike Newell and he tells me that he had even gone as far as drawing up potential transfer targets in preparation for when he and Shearer took over, seems as though things went "belly up" quite late on.

Anyhow as Nicko says Rovers have now refocused and looking closely at all of the candidates on the shortlist.

Totally off topic Brownie but are the REAL Inspiral Carpets playing at your place tonight as advertised in the LT last Friday?

And for free??? Surely can't be..

Allardyce will still get his interview, but so will others.

The usual suspects...and maybe one or two of the surprises we mentioned.

As for times and places I will keep that to myself. ;)

Milner to Liverpool - £2m + Pennant to Newcastle, is what i've heard.

I would say Newcastle are getting the better deal if true.

I just heard Newcastle are using this to make Villa increase their offer for Milner...

He is NOT Liverpool's priority - that list is headed by Valencia and Bentley - both too expensive at the moment.

Telegraph made a mistake there.

Its actually Tom Hingley who was one of the singers of The Inspiral Carpets performing an acoustic set of Inspiral Carpets songs, and yes it is free.

I rang the LET and they promised to be more specific in tonights edition

I can only fit about 250 in , there would have been ten times that for the full line up !

So you are 100% that Ten Cate will be interviewed ?

And if so will you be publishing in the Mirror ?

Wow, that's Liverpool really raising the bar. The top 3 must be quaking in their boots!

Funnily enough, had he chosen Villa instead, MON might have made him into a half decent player, eventually.

If only Milner hadn't gone to Newcastle and stagnated his career, we could've been talking about a top notch winger. But sadly, he has done what Darren Ambrose, N'Zogbia, Parker and others have foolishly.

I really don't get this Antonio Valencia big club interest. His goal record is poor and is he not just a better version of compatriot Ulises De La Cruz - I.e has genuine skill, technical ability and pace but not exactly as star?

Bit strong. as you know I'm not a fan but still. sense of proportion required. Just want him as far from rovers as poss but "death"?

Faith Terim is a brilliant coach. Has alot of experience and I would love it if he became our coach...Im sure Tugay could be able to put a word forward.

He's loved and admired by every player he has ever managed including big names at Milan and Fiorentina.

Deep down, we all know BFS is ideal for the club in every sense apart from one - the style of football he would make us play and hence the negative image in the press.

I do not want him as our manager, but he ticks many boxes if you think about it.

However, if he is appointed i will continue to support BRFC was all the passion i have. Managers come and go, the club does not.

I heard a rumour of SH as a venue.

I don't know any such thing deep down, BFS is not the man(+ 30 assistants) for us!

Crap football, allegedly bent and failed his last assignment, why should we rehabilitate him?
