Blue n White Rover Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 SO, Nicko to confirm, there has been no progress today with the Rovers managers search other than the interview of BFS?

novella Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Can we throw some bets on here….Nicko,if you are confident about your Ten Cate story,I suggest you place a couple hundred pounds on it, lol even if he hasnt signed, he might still not sign for rovers though....
ebenrocks Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Betting on it just coz he aint signed for Pana aint a fantastic thing to do. Im considering putting 20 on it, but just coz he aint signed for pana doesnt necessarily mean hes going to definatly sign for rovers.
Bobby G Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Its very possible for it to be BS as media in countries such as Turkey, Greece, have a Middle Eastern type of mentality, therefore they jump the gun alot.
nicko Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I'll say it AGAIN...don't bet on this market. It's at the interview process. Nobody knows who is getting it. Ten Cate is still a runner, but don't back him on my advice.

I couldn't resist a cheeky fiver
broadsword Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Why agree to sign and then have an interview somewhere else? Doesn't make sense.

From a personal point of view though if his odds go towards 30's or 40's it'd be definitely worth a tenner

Nicko you have been saying it over and over, fine so he hasnt signed yet.But what are the reasons why he hasnt signed for Pana, when they claiming he has.Im guessing the reason is that they know of Ten Cates intensions for wanting an interview with Rovers, thus announcing it might throw JW and the board off,in wanting to interview the guy.Now if he has contacted Rovers, and agreed to meet up with them,id suggest he get his butt out of Barbados and into the UK to explain, what his intensions are.surely the only man who can either confirm or deny those reports are ten cate himself
nicko Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Somebody starting to see sense...this is from Setanta. "Panathinaikos turned to Ten Cate after they also made similar claims regarding the future of former Getafe coach Michael Laudrup only for that deal to fall through."

nicko Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Why agree to sign and then have an interview somewhere else? Doesn't make sense. It does if you want one job more than the other but you don't want to let the 'sure thing' know they are only second choice...

"Panathinaikos turned to Ten Cate after they also made similar claims regarding the future of former Getafe coach Michael Laudrup only for that deal to fall through." is that not considered some breach of some sorts Nicko?shouldnt fifa get involved in this?

Saf Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 if nickos right which im pretty sure he is it will be so funny sky and the bbc seing them quikly destroy the article tht ten cates gone to panthanikos. when will they learn , though wht bothers me is why is it on the panathanikos official website i mean if we hd just appointed a manger we would do the same
nicko Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 is that not considered some breach of some sorts Nicko?shouldnt fifa get involved in this? Not at all, nothing is signed until it's signed. The guy has the balls to hold off Panathinaikos for ten days to get close to Rovers. So why would he then say 'stuff it' and sign for Panathinaikos when Rovers are showing an interest in him?
SAS Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 out of all the shortlist, id rather have this ben ten guy
nicko Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 if nickos right which im pretty sure he is it will be so funny sky and the bbc seing them quikly destroy the article tht ten cates gone to panthanikos. when will they learn , though wht bothers me is why is it on the panathanikos official website i mean if we hd just appointed a manger we would do the same I remember the Sven soap opera only too well...
Iceman Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Doesn’t add up Nicko…I cant see why there is no breach of some sorts on Pana’s side.surely they did it once with Laudrup, now they p[erhaps doing it again. If Ten Cate never signed anything,or said anything, then Pana are abusing the situation. If ten cate was announced as their head coach, wouldn’t he have been unveiled at a press conference, instead of being in Barbados?
