do you think ten cate just maybe playin rovers here to get a better deal off panathaniakos

What's he got to trade? An interview at Rovers?

Everybody knows he is only a contender here...he has a job in Greece if he wants it.

It is quite interesting that a lot of the bookies still have him at roughly the same/slightly higher odds than he was before this whole Panathinaikos thing was announced. You would think that they'd either lengthen his odds considerably (like Ladbrokes did before they quickly changed it) or remove him completely.

Either they smell a rat or they've gone on information from here...

Guys, we are talking Greek football.

Not being anti-Greek but that is the dodgy end of a very particular sort of culture.

Panathanaikos saying something depends on which club heavy has managed to get hold of the password to the website... literally.

Some Italian clubs now insist on bankers drafts in escrow even to talk to Greek clubs about transfers and want the entire board to sign contracts. There have been so many bad experiences now that there is a bit of money in the Greek League and they all think they are Onasis and the rules were written for the other guy.

Not really, bookies set their odds according to what the interest is. Obviously there are still people backing Ten Cate therefore the odds will remain as previous.

The new Blackburn manager market is still relatively small compared to others out there, so it is quite possible that most of the interest is coming from Rovers fans and therefore they are more than likely to be reading this site.

oh my god. this is crazy. im away for one hour, and have to spend another to read through till the end :!:

i still back allardyce because he is the sensible thing to do. his records at bolton still count for me. so what if he wont play sexy football we still have a good chance of success, and staying in the top 8. hughes didnt play sexy either. we are still the most booked team in the league so i dont see that point at all. if your supporting the team depends on sexy football, then move on to man utd or arsenal. thats where the fancy play is at. rovers dont have what it takes at the time to produce sexy football and good results. i'd much rather play boring and win than play attacking and lose.

that said im not sure sam is the right man because of the massive demonstrations against him. both fans and (players if that guy posting 10 0000 pages earlier is right about players wanting to leave).

right now i hope for ten cate, but dont mind sam. anyway i hope the drama doesnt end for some time. this is ridiculously entertaining!

During the talks it became obvious that Shearer and his advisers wanted too many clauses and demands - all different kinds - and they put a few backs up.

I'm not sure of the specifics, but the areas that caused problems included his media work, possible merchandising deals and the inevitable compensation issues if someone else came on for him.

Funny, because it reminded me of when he was a player and spoke to both Blackburn and Man U when he was leaving Southampton.

At the time I was close to Fergie - now that WAS a long time ago - and by chance spoke to him minutes after Shearer said 'no.' He was raging and ripped into him, saying his '****ing agent' just wanted to talk about clauses and his NEXT move.

Sir Furious didn't like that at all. Shearer has changed agents since, but he is apparently still the same animal.

Not wishing to blow smoke up your arse any more than you are already accustomed to, but I think things like the above are the contributions I actually look forward to most from you. Well, that and tidbits of info that are going to make us all money.

Speaking of which, I've just lumped £20 on HTC on Betfair at 30s. It was sat in my account and I'd forgotten about it, so its all profit and not much to lose.

Is young Kenny a teddy bear yet?

Is young Kenny a teddy bear yet?

Kenny O'Miller is signing as we speak.

Got about £300,000 from Derby to leave.

They wanted rid that badly that they did the deal.

Of course, he has moved because of his love of the badge...

Ps. Smoking is bad for your health.

Our rumoured shortlist is what worry's me (Other than maybe Ten Cate). The thought of Aidy Boothroyd taking over at Rovers makes me feel quite ill...as do the majority of the other 'candidates'. Here's hoping that JW and co. manage to appoint somebody out of the blue..who hasn't really had a mention on this forum. Because right now that shortlist certainly is quite depressing - we might as well throw David Pleat in whilst we're at it just to top it off.
