What's he got to trade? An interview at Rovers?

Everybody knows he is only a contender here...he has a job in Greece if he wants it.

I think if we had a choice between Ten Cate or Billic I would chose the latter.

On the bentley situation, Billic would be a better appointment.

But I suppose Billic is not even anyway near the list - even though he wants to come to the prem.

Billy Davies has been on SSN saying he is ready to get back into management

Not with us I hope. I just dont like him and not fully sure why. I think its cos he looks and sounds like he always wants to fight everyone.

He can stay with the wolly with the brolli on the nobody wants to employ you list.

Or shall we call it 'the not fit for purpose list'

Either way, He's not wanted at Ewood Park due to being not good enough.

Davies has about the same chance of managing Rovers as I do. The man is a complete muppet, out of his depth in the Premiership but suitable for a stint in the lower leagues.

Calling Billy Davis a muppet may cause offence to Kermit the frog - though he does bare a resemblence to miss piggy.

You guys are great. This is the first time, I've logged on and can I just say thanks for the pure entertainment. Nicko, you are a legend so well done ^_^.

I'm with most of you guys as it happens, BFS needs to stay well away. After the club has raised its profile with Hughes we need to get someone in who at least tries to match that level. BFS would be a large step backwords for me. I don't hate him, I just think his image isn't what we should be looking for at the minute. Ten Cate is risky but a worthwhile risk otherwise what's the point of a club like us even existing. My own personal fave would be Bilic but i'd be happy with Henk or even Ince as much as I have taken into account what he said at Inter.

I think the club needs to clearly identify one particular candidate and then make or break with them. All this shortlisting nonsense is just wasting us precious time when a new manager can be evaluating what the club has and what he needs.

I'l support Rovers whoever they get in, however, I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

Nicko, would there be any potential candidate that you could maybe see coming in strong, particularly with the current situation not being so clear?

Very good question.

If it drags and Rovers don't like who they meet then there could be pressure to go for a big target - a Bilic or Laudrup.

It's a very unpredictable race, with names being contacted in the last 48 hours who weren't really in it before Shearer pulled out.

So where it goes by this time next week is anyone's guess.

Nicko will you reveal on Sunday when Ten Cate should be having his interview?

I do hope to have more answers on that whole situation in the next 24 hours or so...or at least clues or pointers.

All I know is that he comes back from holiday on Monday...and England is on the way to Greece if you know what I mean.

Nicko, this story you are planning to publish about HTC on sunday in the People, is this still a goer? and if so how much of a write up is expected to be ? ie half a column ? half a page ? a headline ?

I just don't understand how the board can appear so clueless as to whom they would like as the next manager. I understood the Shearer situation but frankly, its a little disheartening to feel that the club lacks some control over the whole process. There are no clear candidates apart from Ince and Allardyce, one whom has not had any contact with the board and the other whom the fans almost despise. Do you feel that the club are aware of the current unrest amongst the fans? and if so, do you feel they will be forced to make a rushed decision on the matter?

It will depend on one or two things over the next day or so but it will reveal a bit about some of the Ten Cate scene.

There is a killer line in there which has never been mentioned.

But I need to know that the aliens didn't fly him from Barbados to Greece in the middle of the night first... ;)

One thing I would say, Big Sam is disadvantaged having the first interview, so if he is still appointed after another three guys are interviewed then he truely is the best candidate.

We have no manager, we need one, so we genuinely will get the best man whatever happens.

I can't criticise the board at all on this one.

And I do think they are aware of the anti-Sam feelings.

That is as it should be but even bigger when season tickets have to be sold and the club is 'up for sale.'

Oh Nicko, you tease more than words can say !!!

When will we hear about the 'killer line' ??

I suppose tonight is out of the question ?

Precisely. Another issue that has been drawn up earlier in this post is the fact that the owners are saying they want to sell but not actively REALLY looking to sell. That is, they are hardly making a song and dance about it. I don't feel that the future of the club is particularly stable at this moment in time, after all they are withdrawing their backing from the club this season (regarding three million). As you appear to know info from the inside can you clear up this situtaion at all. For example, do you feel the owners are genuinely eager to sell and if not, do you feel they should be hanging onto such power for so long without any long term intentions?

Surely you're sat on quite a scoop at the moment given that you seem to be the only person in the media who thinks Ten Cate to the Greeks isn't a done deal. Why wait until Sunday and take the risk of someone else getting the lowdown first?
