nicko Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 The Ince for Blackburn story is plastered all over the back page of the Mirror. Yet the LET suggests that interviews are going on next week and an appointment won't be made until the end of next week. Everyday seems to bring a new rumour! The Mirror story was depressing in that it said Ince would be given whatever cash the club could afford following the SALE of Bentley and Santa Cruz. The prospect of an inexperienced manager being asked to replace our best two players and fill the gaps that Hughes had identified as in need of strengthening is not one that is going to create a feel good atmosphere around the club. Just hope it's the usual rubbish that the newspapers print. Thought for the day - if Ince has got the job 'within days' why are two leading candidates meeting Rovers in the same time frame?

kingsleyamis Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Thought for the day - if Ince has got the job 'within days' why are two leading candidates meeting Rovers in the same time frame? "Same time frame"? You mean on Monday when ten Cate gets back from Barbados?

waggy Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 laudraup was in the dunkenhalgh swimming pool at 9 am this morning, over here on bussiness,if i was able to bet on gambling sites. i've been banned by most i would put all the money i lost on shearer, and then double it.btw what price is he
HATRIX Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Incey would more than likeley have an eye for a good player,I'm sure his name is still remembered throughout football in europe .He has done a good job with mk dons ,so if he has the right players for the standard of the league then i dont see any problems in him getting them to perform on the pitch .IFSanta cruz and Bentley go then i am sure Mr Ince would me more than capable of buying the right players for the club at the right prices,You never know,he might be better at doing so than hughes.
kingsleyamis Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I'm going tell you to do one. You come up with wee sneaky remarks and want me to enlighten you? Don't think I've been particularly sneaky; it was more a case of thinking aloud on information posted by someone else in this thread. But please feel free to expand on your comment for the benefit of other posters!

roversmum Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Perhaps it was a secret assignment - was he in disguise? It's all too much excitement for me. I'm off to Cuerden Vally Fair to see a birds of prey display. If I spot Sam Allardyce I'll let you know.

John Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Nicko - out of interest, what is your opinion of Ince? I know he has been there and done that, but never liked him myself. Our very own Sparky is not a fan......

Sandiway Blue Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 At those odds its worth a 100 pounds, dont you think... I`m a stingy bugger i only put £4 on.
nicko Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 At those odds its worth a 100 pounds, dont you think... Anything on the little tale on Big Sam Nicko? Woah! He's only a candidate. Should I get that stamped on my forehead? Pretty sure Big Sam had his meeting despite the smokescreen being put up...he might not want to admit talking to them and then be overlooked. I can understand that.
nicko Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Nicko - out of interest, what is your opinion of Ince? I know he has been there and done that, but never liked him myself. Our very own Sparky is not a fan...... I admire the fact that he had the guts to take on an impossible job at Macclesfield. However he was quick to get out. MK Dons had enough money to guarantee promotion, so it was a good move but not necessarily a triumph to go up. In the past year he has been after several jobs and is a bit large and busy. That would put me off. I don't think he fits with what Rovers have been about. I also have to say I don't like the way he plays a certain card when he gets overlooked. There's no point dancing round that. I still think you could do better.
T4E Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Nicko, I've had £20 on Ten Cate, think I should lump a bit more on?
