mjs Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Bloke on official forum was claiming that two thirds of the board favoured him, and then posted something in Spanish about how he thought he'd do well - It doesn't take many people to place bets to get the odds tumbling. My couple of quid at 150/1 reduced the odds to around 50's the other day

JAL Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Laudrup in to 12/1 on Betfair. He was 150/1 a couple of days ago. May mean nowt but what the hell. Put a quid on Laudrup yesterday 33/1, just thought at that price he must'nt be involved at all but hes the one that appeals to me the most. The board would be absolutely stupid not to interview the guy unless he was never interested in the first place. I think we could/would all learn a thing or two about the beautiful game from Micheal Laudrup. I, love people who run with the ball and take people on i'm sure we all do, surely Laudrup would incorporate that into Rovers game. Never mind this holding midfielder rubbish, as Bret Emmerton showed briefly, running from the centre of midfield can open up all kinds of possibilities to scoring goals. Heres to hoping .
RevidgeBlue Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I have also set up a charitable business as a provider of leads for the LT, You can say that again nicko, this contents of this morning's LT could have been lifted almost exclusively from this thread yesterday.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I just got odds of 60/1 for ten Cate matched on betfair... Not bad for someone who has already agreed to take over at Panathanikos. Seriously nicko has advised everyone NOT to bet on this market at present.
dring1 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I just got odds of 60/1 for ten Cate matched on betfair... havnt posted on here for a bit. just been reading through nickos thread. i think that may have been just after i betted on ten cate as i was messing around with the odds and not knowing what i was doing proper as it was the first time i had placed a bet.
tony gale's mic Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Not bad for someone who has already agreed to take over at Panathanikos. Seriously nicko has advised everyone NOT to bet on this market at present. I know full well nicko has advised this. However it's not bad for someone who has an interview at Rovers this week either is it? Bottom line is I won £200 on the back of nicko's Scolari prediction so I'm putting some of it back on, that's hardly that unreasonable is it? He may have told us not to bet, I can see why as there's no clear favourite. But a gamble is just that and 60/1 for this situation is a good deal whichever way you look at it.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Very sensible economy drive by Rovers- who needs a Manager and coaching staff in June anyway? Yup, the new bloke won't mind if he's no players left when they report for the first day of pre-season training in July.
dring1 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 just put £10 on and will win £340 so not that bothered about losing the £10. not sure how betfair works really as i dont bet that much.

Fair enough, i think it might be money down the pan though and your heart ruling your head because you want him here. On the other hand I may just not be giving enough credence to nicko because I really DON'T want him here.

If for example events turned in your favour and it turned out he WAS having an interview and his odds halved to 17 (16/1) then you could lay the bet off at that price meaning that you would still win 170 if he was appointed and you have got your stake money back. Free bet in case he isn't appointed. Alternatively you could lay the whole lot at 17 for a small guaranteed profit of 10 quid whether he is appointed or not.

Not really, just the potential of winning thousands that attracted me and not being too downhearted if I lose it since I won it through similar means. Would like to see him here though regardless.
tony gale's mic Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Best thing to do on this market is to try and get someone to match a bet of £60 or £70. There will be people viewing that page who haven't heard what we have, it worked for me, took a couple of hours to get it matched but it means your potential winnings will be higher.
