Do you also think him coming out with such strong comments about wanting to leave asap will have an impact on his sale price? I fear the comments today will have knocked a few million off his value, if players are desperate to leave clubs tend to come in with lower offers.

I think Rovers will hold firm until an offer is made that they deem acceptable.

Nicko, just wondering what your take was on Bentley's comments today?

Most fans knew he was likely to be gone this season, but to come out with comments like these and at a time where the club is looking to find a new manager in order to bring some stability, i find it a disgrace.

He said that he knew some clubs were after him. We all know Bentley has a huge ego, do you think he may have been tapped up in a way by some clubs? His agent knowing the interest in him and coming out with these comments?

Stupidity beyond belief. Who does he think he is impressing with that 'large' interview?

I am very disappointed with the lad, I thought he had grown up after some of his mistakes as a kid. Obviously not.

Do you think Rafa Benitez will want to see that? Or Juande Ramos? Rovers will just stick to their valuation and make the boy look a total fool.

If he thinks he can bully the club he is clearly wrong. And what did he do in the last two England games?

If he was THAT good - and I never felt he was - then he would have been bought by now.

I have this horrible feeling I will be watching him playing for Rovers second team in a pre-season friendly on some ploughed field in late July.

Oh dear.

Don't hold back, let us know your true feelings!!

It really doesn't shock me that he came out and said that.

Me neither, American. But the club can't afford not playing him if he is staying, he's clearly an integral part of our team. He IS good enough, in my opinion, and if we get our price, good luck to him- he's been a fantastic investment. Damien Duff kissed the Chelsea badge after scoring against us, I sure as hell don't expect David Bentley to treat us any better, and I don't really care. But surely we won't sell anyone before a new manager is brought in?

Sick and tired of this ###### ######, appoint Big Fat Sam already, so we can ###### get on with our lives.

Hmm, I guess the Board might have decided they need a no-nonsense candidate after seeing that.

My immediate reaction was the same as nicko's - this is heading towards Capello writing Bentley off for the start of the WC qualifiers.

Still David, Lancaster, Matlock, Bradford PA, Northwich Vics, Altrincham and Stalybridge Celtic are all located in Europe.

Talk about Bentley kicking us when we are down!

A big player always leaves us in the summer every few years, i.e shearer, sutton, duff, bellamy and now in the near future bentley. We always come back fighting and Bentley is just one of eleven players, he is not the team.

With all the recent going-ons, we need a manager to come in and get instant control. There's only one candidate that will do that, note I say will and not can and we all know who that is, - even if we don't want to admit it.

There was quite a bit of the proverbial taken by the players whilst BFS was at Bolton by all accounts and he hardly suceeded in keeping the Newcastle players on the right side of the law so it has to be Henk ten Cate to come in and take a grip.

BFS unfortunatly.

Annoyed with the timing of Bentleys comments - why didnt he wait until the transfer window is at least open? Maybe Rovers have told him to make the statement - so that it doesnt start a media 'Its because of the new manager X that Bentley wants to leave'.

As for him - he is a good player - once every 4 or 5 games, seriously over-rates himself. Hopefully he will go abroad, £15m is the minimum he should be allowed to go for.

It's a shame that Bentley had to talk publically about his intentions, but I can understand where he is coming from. However, if he feels that he owes the club a lot, then maybe he can give us his undoubtedly huge signing on fee as well? Ha, yeah right.

I do agree with those who have said it already, he looked ######.

if we are going to get a fat man, i want this one fatih

passion, heart, tactics and wanting to win! Some fantastic shots of him on the sidelines tonight, maybe a bit heavy handed but it;s nice to see a manager for once get really involved and want it rather than sitting on the bench with a face like a slapped ass!

Not English-speaking, and about 102 years old. But he is a good manager, no doubt.

Hes the same age as Ten Cate! I suggested him last week, would be very hard to get him but if we did he could help Tugay with his coaching & then take over!! Among all the doom & gloom & am going to continue to dream!!!

Paul Ince has been interviewed - last week - and thinks he is getting it.

However he has NO coaching qualifications.

Rovers have contacted the Premier League to see if there is a way round it.

Ince is enrolling in a coaching course this week and that might get through the loophole.

In the meantime there are still scheduled interviews with two candidates at least next week.

If I say who there will be a betting frenzy and I don't want that.

The only clue I could give is that I will be playing 'Where's Wally?' tomorrow...

Good news about Ince apparently having been interviewed, pass the revolver time about McClaren apparently still being a serious contender.

In the light of Bentley's revelations there might be a case for big Sam to barrel in Souness 1998 style and knock a few heads together in the dressing room unfortunately.

1 - Partick Thistle.

2 - It's a long story. I believe I was supposed to be Dan Williams' PR plant and then I became Chris Ronnie's PR plant and along the way stumbled across a few stories through my agent mates who wanted me to write them to boost their shares prices. Then my role as a Betfair plant became obvious and my complicated scams to make ten bob out of Ten Cate were exposed by a crack reporter called Angry of Ancoats plus his camp friend Kingsley. I have also set up a charitable business as a provider of leads for the LT, several websites, Setanta among others. However the major idea is to create nicko.com and I am currently fending off six-figure offers.

Couldn't stop laughing at that for a while, well put nicko.
