I guess he landed at Manchester airport earlier today.

I think you might do well to check Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Realistically it seems to me we're now down to three.

Ince, McClaren and Allardyce.

Unless someone not previously mentioned comes in at the last minute from completely off the radar.

What are the rules on coaching badges anyway?

How come Ince can manage at MK Dons and Macclesfield but not Blackburn?

Are the rules different for the Premiership from the rest of the football league?

Posted

Wow. Are people starting to finally realise that Ten Cate is not, and never has been, a runner for the Rovers job?

Perhaps now some people will start wonder why Nicko's been pushing him so hard?

Waiting is not an alternative, when are the players due back from holidays? We certainly don't want to wait till January with signing players because the new manager is appointed too late.

Depends on what you mean by waiting. The earlier the better, obviously, but even if he's not appointed until July he still has 1½ months to bring in players.

I've no problem with it personally, Scotty.

At least it gives me a little hope that we are not going for Allardyce, Ince or McClaren all of which would definitely not be on my list.

I managed to mastermind this worldwide conspiracy during my day off.

Really - now why do you think Nicko is pushing him so hard - if that is what he is doing - which I do not believe at all.

I have noticed for awhile you appear to be having snide digs at Nicko - I do not believe that this board is a place to have snide digs at anybody, not just Nicko, but anybody. If you don't like somebodies posts, terrific move on and ignore it.

I am not in Nicko's line of work and I can only read what has been reported either here or in papers - I am not in the position to confirm or not wiether something is true or not. I am also aware that often comments are put out in the public arena to lure curious reporters away from the story they are searching - which any reporter can be caught up in no matter there experienced they are. That is life.

This could be a very bad week,I have supported the Rovers for many years and seen some good and bad managers but we finished 7th in the Premiership last season, and our search for a new manager comes down to Allerdyce,McClaren,Ince and possibly Ten Cate!!!! Rovers are in my blood but at the moment I feel very down. Still hoping JW pulls something out of the hat,but thats being a Rovers fan, ever the optimist.

Not as many as those of us who are wondering why you are still reading posts from somebody who you clearly dislike and have an agenda against?

Maybe you are bothered about being proved wrong? ;)

Hold on

1 - I was saying Rovers wanted him because I wanted to make money on Betfair...by betting against him at ludicrously high odds.

2 - I am actually working as an agent for a man I never met because I want to make money on him.

Not sure about you, but I can't quite work that one out.

Well with the vacant managers position, the takeover and Bentley (& possibly others) wanting out, god knows what Blackburn Rovers will be in August.

Not very far south though. They play Everton away first game! ;)

He must have sent it Air Mail.

Perhaps he sent it by sms...

To recap...

Ten Cate has been in contact with Rovers since the job came up. He was only called to make arrangements for an interview on THURSDAY night...a few hours later he was supposedly signing for Panathinaikos when:

1 - he can't sign for anyone until he sorts out his payment with Chelsea.

2 - he is not due to start work and sign with Panathinaikos until July 1.

Time is of the essence here.

But, hey, if you want one of the guys who you have spoken to...carry on.

Does all this sound a bit familiar?

Is Ten Cate playing the Hughsie card Nicko??

nicko, when do u think rovers will be nay closer to knowing who the next manager will be, is it after ten cates interview

No, this is the other way round.

Hughes wanted Chelsea ideally and got Man City.

Ten Cate wants Blackburn. He's not using Blackburn to get Panthinaikos. He's got that if he wants it.

I don't know. If you keep slaughtering the candidates I would imagine they might find someone by Christmas...
