Why hasn't Henk come out and say its not true? Or has he had his head buried in the sand for the past few weeks?

people go on holiday to for a reason to get a breather from the press,

I'm just wondering Nicko, if the Rovers are being this effective in hiding away from the press, do they have any other surprise candidates other than Allardyce, McClaren, Ince and Ten Cate? Guess that might have to be more a suspicion than a fact.

Hope JW is still happy with his pool of candidates .....

Don't forget Martinez.

There is always the chance that when they sit down and decide they will say '*** it, let's start again.'

This really is a strange one.

Which is why I said don't put a coin on it.

Wae Martinez a genuine runner? If so they really must have been swallowing a lot of brave pills. Potentially a top manager, but only potentially. It seemed to me that Martinez was sensibly making good PR in Swansea by making the statement he did.

In the case of football smoke usually means no fire but a lot of agents puffing on cigars.

Is it really likely that JW would back off given his previous stance on making an announcement this week?

Still if someone says that you've accepted a job and you haven't then surely the agent would at least release a press statement?!

Here it is...just found it on scotty.com.

Sigi Lens, agent working on Henk Ten Cate, said last night: "Monster, monster. Henk's going to Greece and I'm getting £300,000, so tell that Blackburn Rovers mob to do one."

In all seriousness, do you think anyone is going to admit that they are keeping prospective employers hanging on while they [a] sort out a hashed pay-off with Chelsea and flutter their eyes at someone else?

Martinez's name only hit the press from here where it was first mentioned. He didn't call me, I don't know his agent. Then it hit the papers and, of course, someone put him on Betfair.

As boss of Swansea he has got to do the old 'I'm happy here' routine...but do you believe that he would not speak to Rovers about the job?

Is Eric Hall still an agent?

I absolutely bloody hated that guy.

Didn't he once have a column in the People?

Eric Hall? Evil personified - poor impression of Billy Bunter. Would make excellent roadkill.

Never forgave him after Sherwood left.

I did a search and found your item in the people and I guess its believable but I still have this feeling his gonna take the cash. Chelsea have enough of it thats for sure!

Well thanks for that...it's a compliment in some parts round here. ;)

I am sure he would have chased the job if he thought he would get it but I just think that the statement underlined the rumour element rather than a genuine belief he would have a chance.

He didn't chase it...it chased him.

Don't discount this guy.

Me thinks you're protesting too much.

There's no interview between Rovers and Ten Cate is there Nicko? Despite you saying it was definitely going to happen on Wednesday. So why did/are you still pushing his name so hard?

It's still Monday on my planet.

And, of course, Ince hasn't met Rovers and neither has Sam or Shearer.

In fact, nothing's happening. It's all a big lie.
