philipl Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 The last 20 pages make an entertaining read. Shame the content is so depressing though.

Fife Rover Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 At the Dunkenhalgh, with Waggy? Yeh go on! Give waggy the job. Might as well.
leftfooter Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Nicko, the Bentley thread is currently speculating as to the sell on fee for Bentley. 50% is the received wisdom, but actually, nobody really seems to know. Do you have an educated insight in to yhis? If not care to do some digging for us?
nicko Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Nicko, the Bentley thread is currently speculating as to the sell on fee for Bentley. 50% is the received wisdom, but actually, nobody really seems to know. Do you have an educated insight in to yhis? If not care to do some digging for us? I am not sure about the 50 per cent thing...I believe you paid much more for Bentley than was ever revealed...probably a lot of add-ons for appearances and, of course, England caps. You might have forked out about £3 million-plus by now. If there's a 50 per cent sell-on on top that makes the potential asking price massive.
Fife Rover Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Still, a nice morning for a little drive edit - whoa there - Big Sam, that's one; McClaren, two; Ince, three; TC four - number five is???? Waggy?
nicko Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Nicko, can we expect a 10 o clock update? No, not writing this yet. Too delicate.
Craigman Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Anything to do with the takeover Nicko ? Maybe Ronnie wants someone specific in ?
Parsonblue Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Having lost a manager and backroom staff that are amongst the highest qualified in the Premier League - in terms of coaching badges - I just cannot believe that we are going to appoint Paul Ince. A manager with only Division Two - the old Fourth Division!!!! - experience and no coaching qualifications. I cannot believe that a club that finished 7th in one of the toughest Leagues in the world is going to go down that route. If he comes I assume that Ray Mathias will be coaching our international players while Ince returns to school to get some qualifications. If Allardyce and McClaren are unsuitable I just don't understand how Ince can be acceptable. Surely, when shortlisting from 40 applicants the neccessary coaching certificates should have been in the column marked essential in chosing the criteria for coming up with the ones you want to interview. You really couldn't make it up - but then after a lifetime of watching the Rovers I really shouldn't be surprised.

Mozzer Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 is it good news or bads news??? good news for me is not appointing paul ince or steve mclaren.. maybe a twist in the henk ten cate situation?
Antgrad Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I'm thinking the same as Hannah. Shearer. I will tell you one thing...there could be some twist in the next 24 hours There are airports in Europe too...
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Would we really throw ourselves at Shearer so much?
Paul Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Stop taking the Micheal the futures bright. So it's Marco van Basten then?

Totally agree, but then Nicko seems to be pulling all the strings on here as to whats happening gossip wise regarding the interviewing of the next manager without any say so from the club or its representatives on their process of elimination in finding the right man. Its good stuff from nicko, but i wonder if hes going to plant a red herring that might be aimed at catching someone out.
sparkspakespoke Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 With regards to the Wolly brining someone in, what about Flowers? Is he still the assistant at Coventry? I think the wolly would be looking for a younger and junior guy to work with.
nicko Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Its good stuff from nicko, but i wonder if hes going to plant a red herring that might be aimed at catching someone out. No, not doing that.

spencey7 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 There are airports in Europe too... Has this name been mentioned before Nicko? Either by the board or on this forum...? [Praise be - Could it be Bilic?!?]
Antgrad Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Nope he got kicked out with Dowie! ...and followed him to QPR where he's assistant manager
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I doubt Bilic would fly out. We might fly out to him. Even so, I doubt he would be interested.
