LET basically says that JW is off to meet a mystery European candidate over the next couple of days, and LET believes it is HTC !!

Check his passport somebody. Shchipol and it's HTC , Nice and it's more likely to be somebody involved at the euro's.

Rubbish! All that hot air and self righteous indignation is for show. Does nobody rem the spitting image portrayel of the gentlemen of the national press? It's a good read normally but rem if Alan Nixon was all that bothered he'd not post on here at all! Can anybody tell me what he has to gain apart from a load of faceless internet geeks?

Use a bit of lateral thinking and consider that this link to the media is perfect for all sorts of items on nicko's agenda. Even without Scotty's opinion, slipping enemies and rivals a bum steer to discredit em being near the top of his list I'd wager...... (see Brownies post above.) ;)

btw.... I hope I haven't blown yer cover Alan. I would have PM'd you of course ..... but then again you've never pm'd me have you? B)

He obviously quite enjoys posting on here, same as the rest of us, it is just that he has more information to share than most of us.

Two flights already landed in Vienna from the UK this morning. Bad Tatzmannsdorf where Croatia are based isn't that far away.

I'm wishing it to happen

He's not the manager of Olympique Lyonnais.

That is Alain Perrin - who I believed resigned his position from OL yesterday.

He did indeed. Maybe it is him?!? (Hope not)

They also signed Jean Makoun yesterday, who, according to Nicko, was one of the midfielders Hughes was looking at for us. He was signed for roughly 9 million pounds.

I have a season ticket and I go to quite a few away games but when I don't I watch local championship clubs and believe me the atmosphere is no better, the football is not the same quality as the premiership and the fans moan even more than they do at ewood.

It might do some people good to pay MORE money to watch teams like blackpool, accy stanley, pne and burnley just to see what it is actually like.

Superb post Rob. Some supporters don't realise how lucky we are!

Well this is reassuring news... About time! :)

The fact that talks are happening "in Europe" means it's a foreign-based manager. Which could be either:

- Henk Ten Cate

- Gerard Houllier

- Alain Perrin

- Dick Advocaat

- Michael Laudrup

or...

- Slaven Bilic...?

The timing could hint at the latter as Croatia played last night, and Bilic would have time to chat today before preparing the squad for Turkey in the quarter-finals.. To be honest, given the standard of candidates made public so far, I'd be over the moon with any of the above.

I know I'm reading far too much into this, but make no apologies given the torture and torment of BFFS, McClaren, Ince, Martinez et al over the past week...

That list looks a lot more encouraging than:

BFS

McClaren

Ince

Martinez

Boothroyd

Shearer

Can you fax or e-mail that list to JW? It's much better than the one is reported to have in his hand!!
