Claytons Left Boot Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 That list looks a lot more encouraging than: BFS McClaren Ince Martinez Boothroyd Shearer It certainly does - in fact you may as well add Ken Dodd to the 'English' list and if you did he would jump straight to number one.
dellinsert Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Let me get this straight, according to Betfair Billy Davies is as likely to get the job as HTC??
Manc Rover Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Well this is reassuring news... About time! The fact that talks are happening "in Europe" means it's a foreign-based manager. Which could be either: - Henk Ten Cate - Gerard Houllier - Alain Perrin - Dick Advocaat - Michael Laudrup or... - Slaven Bilic...? The timing could hint at the latter as Croatia played last night, and Bilic would have time to chat today before preparing the squad for Turkey in the quarter-finals.. To be honest, given the standard of candidates made public so far, I'd be over the moon with any of the above. I know I'm reading far too much into this, but make no apologies given the torture and torment of BFFS, McClaren, Ince, Martinez et al over the past week... Alain Perrin!!?!! Surely not the man who almost took Pompey from being a decent mid table side to relegation fodder in a matter of weeks. I hope that's nonsense but if not, be very very worried. I'd rather have Reginald Perrin

ffan Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I reckon its us after Zigic, who better for BFS to have as his loan man to thump balls up to than the 6ft 7 striker? No it's not Blackburn.
damo gally Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 No it's not Blackburn. I was messing about. Although Im sure we were linked with him a couple of seasons ago.

Alanf Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 It's being reported that Chris Mort has left his post at Newcastle.........can we read anything into this regarding the Chris Ronnie potential take-over?
Hi Mack Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 It's being reported that Chris Mort has left his post at Newcastle.........can we read anything into this regarding the Chris Ronnie potential take-over? In what way do you mean Alan?
ffan Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 is it fulham or portsmouth? Fulham have 7 million to spend. That might buy them an average midfielder. When Harry Redknapp was scouting Zigic, Zigic agant came upto Harry and said,' Five Million wouldn't buy him,' to which Harry replied, ' and I'm one of them.' So no. I'll say it in a while, just to want to annoy the fella who tells me bits off.
alexanders Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 It might be liverpool. I can think of Zigic as a very good partner for Torres.
