Okay. Enough. I'm off to play dominoes with a group of lady friends for the afternoon. It's about as much excitement as I can cope with at the moment. See you all later :)

Hi I’m new on this forum, although I was a regular on BRFCS many years ago before poacher Lee turned gamekeeper.

I’m a little concerned by the noble scribe’s morbid interest in HTC. I live in NL and the general feeling over here is that he is not really up to it. He was the manger at my local club Vitesse for a while, but didn’t impress (Koeman was much better) and he also played for and managed the local amateur team F.C. Rheden. At Ajax they though he was terrible. I notice that someone has copied a comment from me onto one of the other forums that I posted on the LET message board. As I say, he is at best a nr 2. and a coach for the strikers at that.

I know JW is supposed to be on the Continent today, and it may well be Amsterdam, but I hope that Rovers have already decided on the new manger, hopefully Laudrup and are now interviewing possible assistants e.g. Ince, McClaren, Ten Cate ??

don't think it works like that. 1) appoint manager and then 2) sort out backroom staff with the manager usually having a pretty good idea who he wants

I don't think Henk Ten Cate would have been any Rovers' fans number one choice for the job - Until we saw the competition. Ten Cate is wildly more popular that the mooted alternatives (Allardyce, McClaren, Ince), but hopefully JW is in the process of pulling a rabbit out of the hat as we speak...

Bilic? Laudrup? Advocaat? A.N. Other?

Please give us something Nicko?!?

We'd all love this to be true.

It's not going to happen though, is it?

OK, so we've got Blackburn Boro, Spurs, Liverpool, Bolton, Villa, Newcastle and Everton. Anymore guesses? I think I can name about 12 more teams who it could be.

Rosenborg?

I quite agree ten cate is nobody's real number 1 not even Nicko who has been pushing him only because he agrees with large numbers of fans here (though not all) that the rest of the supposed candidates are not good enough or not the best we can get.

Jus t want a quick opinion on the board members. Under Souness our main priority was to survive in the Premiership. However, under Hughes our main target was to get in to Europe. So, I was just wondering what you targets would be next season. Would you be happy if we survived or disappointed we didnt make Europe?

Survival and then the season after Europe.

In my opinion we are looking at a period of stability, new manager coming in and possibly a number of players going out. I would expect us to finish around the mid table area possibly lower half of the table, not being part of the relegation struggle but at the same time not competing for the european places.

12th-14th maybe.

i think next season theres an extra uefa cup spot? if so i would still expect us to challange for europe!!

Do the double over Man Citeh and knock them out of both cups.

But like the Murphy's, I'm not bitter.
