A lot of people within football don't like Paul Ince.........

Roy Keane summed up Paul Ince quite well in his autobiography I thought. Massive ego and rubbed some people up the wrong way but a pure winner with a huge will to win and someone who walks the walk as well as talking the talk.

dont know why every one is so defeatist. yes the short list is crap on paper. but you never know one of them might be a revelation for us. hughes' record was decent but there were performances in there and substitutions that left us all scratching our heads. we have the players to fight in the top half of the premiership, the new manager should be able to spur them on but the players should be good enough to get the job done. we need a name that will be able to keep our bigger players. i personally think ince and allardyce would be able to hold onto them.

I do feel that my sadness with the shortlist will genuinely turn to optimism when we do appoint someone. I am an optimistic type of chap but I dont understand why the board are taking nearly two weeks to hold several interviews with what appear to be unemployed people. It would be easier if they just appointed someone and then we could all start to believe again once we know who we have and possibly develop some optimism before pre-season. I will be 100% behnind whoever, even if they are sh*t on paper, they need our support.

Just look at how megson did! I will also support whoever comes in, just want it all to be over with.

I reiterate - in my opinion there is no way this person (whoever they are) could possibly be worse than Sam Allardyce. No way.

I could handle that. Souness seemed to have a huge ego and was good for us apart from the end. The will to win is the most important thing here and for the most part we seem to have a team of pro's that will accept that.

Still, seeing Bilic's brief interview on the beeb makes me want the crazy @#/? as our manager even more!

I'll third that sentiment, god knows what we'll do the day nicko is no longer with us, maybe there should be a nicko apprentice?

I think the least we could do is have a whip round if that day was to ever come!!!

I will check again tomorrow. Which, after all, is Wednesday.

Part of me hopes his agent can't sort out the Chelsea pay-off and won't even get to Greece.

But, then again, I'm a bad pig.

Trust Sky sports to get me excited earlier: "there are unconfirmed reports that it could be Laudrup that John Williams has gone to interview", and now by the sounds of it, he was interviewing somebody so bad that Nicko daren't mention him.

Did JW have a few spare air miles to use up or something?

Maybe, just maybe Rovers are doing an excellent job at misinforming those that would seek to short circuit Rovers search, for a scoop !

Allardyce would be a trillion times worse than McClaren.

Dont be so stupid. How can you say that? Just compare their records and their finances. In fact if you do that then very few are a better option than Allardyce. Allardyce would at least make us feared opposition whilst Maclaren would make us a laughing stock! The p1ss-takes would be continuous.

I still can't get my head round all this. If Nicko says he is so bad then why on earth would we even look at his CV let alone go to Europe and interview him. Let the lazy fu**er come to us if he wants the job!
