Call me a conspiracy theorist, but...

Paul Ince is doing his first-ever coaching day today.

Rovers may appoint a manager by the end of the week.

IF it is him it has to be voted on by the Premier League chairmen. They have to approve an unqualified boss, as they did with Roeder and Southgate.

And do you think any of them would vote against him given the other 'issues' involved here.

There you go, tomorrow's Guardian lead written for them already... ;)

Allardyce has to be favourite.

I thought the following from Nicko would suggest that (mercifully) Allardyce is definitely NOT the preferred choice:

1 - the board know who they want, they will probably speak to the guy again today and I understand there are issues to sort out. As of last night I don't think the 'winning candidate' knew.

7 - I think [1] suggests one man, but I'm going to hedge my bet on that one.

Especially as the EPL, British society, all non-Guardian readers - but in particular Blackburn Rovers, (which was owned by an indigenous Victorian steel mill owner) are all institutionally racist

Which is precisely why I'm convinced Williams will come up with an exciting manager rather than the obvious candidates floated in the media. JW knows he has two prime responsibilities in this appointment; to appoint a manager able to develop the team and secondly to excite the supporters. It's a balance, Shearer for example would probably have failed on the first but scored highly on the second. Allardyce would score highly on the first and badly on the second.

When was the last time the press really knew what the club was up to before it was announced? For years it's been the case the club have played things close to the chest. Why should that change now?

When Tony Parkes was sacked...............

INCE - He doesn't even wear a suit on the line !

Like that matters AT ALL.

ince is a 50/50 gamble with the same outcome no matter what.

1) he does well.

2) he bring crap.

either way he is long gone in 3-4 years max. i think im gonna puke. this day sucks in all kinds of ways.

so does this mean Henk Ten Cate is no-longer being considered. i would have thought he would have been the leading candidate.

I am told that is off the list now.

Part of me thinks Ten Cate should have done more to make it happen, another part of me thinks Rovers could have put up a stronger fight to get over the Chelsea 'pay-off' issue.

It would be ironic if the next appointment had to go through the 'football courts' because the choice of manager has no qualifications.

And yet a simple - financial - problem could have been solved.

I hate to do the old 'what would Jack have done' line...but I suggest he would have got his wallet out.

Part of me think Ince might be a good appointment, seems to have done well in the lower leagues.

A huge part of me think's he's a prat, and our playing staff wont take him seriously.

So maybe he should bring his entire team...... cos they have done well in lower leagues too!

God if it's him he must be bloody cheap.... if not paying US! Get a thingy going on face book now and tell me where to sign!

Oh well,

I think Paul Ince is a good candidate - he has got something to prove, young, hungry and british.

He has played in a lot of big clubs like, Internazionale and Manchester United - which means he will have a good network around him.

Hawkiiz: It does matter if the coach uses suit or not. He is supposed to show authority - NOT look like a waterboy.

How much cooler isn't Hughes in his suit?

I thought we were going to get a manager who was going to build on the good work Hughes did?

Why are we going for Ince then.

He may have a fierce will to win, but he is Big time charlie and can't speak English properly (listen to his interviews).
