mode_m Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 This guy is awesome! Rovers will win using the force and we can convince great players to come over to the darkside.
Eddie Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Interesting. Who does Ryan Nelson play for and what position is he?
briansol Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 The more I read about this guy, the more I like him. From an interview with Fifa.com http://www.fifa.com/confederationcup/news/newsid=762987.html FIFA.com: Leo, congratulations on leading Poland to their first-ever UEFA European championships. What have you done differently compared to your predecessors? Leo Beenhakker: I don't know what my predecessors did. After the 2006 World Cup, I took charge of a group totally lacking in confidence and belief. We've spent a long time working on our mental strength, getting the players to where they are now. In terms of tactics, we've focused on what we do with possession, and we've given the midfield a much higher profile, looking to improve our effectiveness in attack instead of thumping long balls aimlessly upfield. And our defenders have learned to get rid of the ball quicker rather than being forced back towards our own goal. As you'll have noticed, we have a very long and intensive programme behind us.
philipl Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Villa fans in my workplace seem to think that they have Ryan Nelson nearly signed. They can think again. He's in Christchurch, NZ apparently.
Head Rover Heels Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Villa fans in my workplace seem to think that they have Ryan Nelson nearly signed. Are they drunk?
Atomicrover Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 You don't put two managers who don't even know each other in charge of a team! ...unless you're Liverpool......
Bobby G Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I cant see the appointment of any of the names here lifting the even more subdued mood around Ewood with the supporters (after the Shearer u-turn)...The Shearer no go was another nail in the coffin of the Mark Hughes departure in my opinion...
Blue n White Rover Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Im suprised no-one has asked this yet, IF Leo gets the job will he perform as he did with Real and Ajax, without a huge transfer budget??
Atomicrover Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Well he sounds like a bit of a has-been who wouldn't help us out much with our bull-boy reputation. ..or a has-beenhakker (I'll get my coat....)
ffan Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Are they drunk? just had a peak at their official board and it's there as well.
joey_big_nose Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 That picture says "bentley you are going nowhere, until I say so" or "Mokena you are the weakest link, goodbye" Bentley "I'll never join you" Emperor Beenhakker "Now witness the power of this fully claimed and operational contract obligation"
robborover Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Villa fans in my workplace seem to think that they have Ryan Nelson nearly signed. So Bentley has to wait for the new manager, but our captain can join Villa?
Blue n White Rover Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 just had a peak at their official board and it's there as well. Maybe they're drunk aswell Ryans going no where, like he said after Sparky went, Ive got unfinished business!!
Grabbi Graeme Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Bentley "I'll never join you" Emperor Beenhakker "Now witness the power of this fully claimed and operational contract obligation"
Sysagent Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Let me stress once again that Beenhakker is from ONE source. I'm not putting my life on it - or my savings. But I have to say it fits. Dear me. Talk about clinging to threads you lot... Nicko said ONE source and he wasn't putting his life on it, way some of you lot are carrying on you would think he had been interviewed for sure and was in the list of other clowns our board are allegedly looking at.
deftangel Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Nicko, you're clearly not 100% sure it was Beenhakker we flew out to see but how sure are you? 50%, 75%? Assuming JW *definitely* went to Switzerland yesterday, who else could he have been seeing?
Fife Rover Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Fingers crossed this is true.... Ten Cate I wonder why the last part of that article is written in classical Latin?
alexanders Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 "Mokena you are the weakest link, goodbye" HAHA. Priceless!
Atomicrover Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Bentley "I'll never join you" Emperor Beenhakker "Now witness the power of this fully claimed and operational contract obligation" ..nothing short of fabulous, thank you!!!
USRoverME Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Bentley "I'll never join you" Emperor Beenhakker "Now witness the power of this fully claimed and operational contract obligation" Quality!
alexanders Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Nicko said ONE source and he wasn't putting his life on it, way some of you lot are carrying on you would think he had been interviewed for sure and was in the list of other clowns our board are allegedly looking at. We are just trying to make us self happy.

dellinsert Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Sounds like dellinsert has been scooped on that one...or he's moonlighting. Mind you, I can't find that quote on any Polish newspaper website. It seems a tad far-fetched. Why would Laudrup come as his number two? No Nicko, it's part of our cunning plan of laying and backing various applicants so as to make a tidy sum that enables us to take our respective other halfs out for chicken and beans....oops!
