Am I the only one that thinks that is a pretty good offer? If we could bump that up to 10 million I'd probably bite their hands off.

You probably are in the minority.

If we are selling Bentley it should be for cash only and certainly not swapping for what i consider to be mediocre players in Aaron "i cannot cross" Lennon and Hossam "big attitude" Ghaly.

Eddie - you are probably the only one who thinks it would be a good thing if Hughes left. Also, one of the few who thinks Hughes has under acheived last season with the squad he has got (mostly his signings). I would like to see another manager buy the likes of Santa etc.

Stupid boy.

Hughes to City ? Now the papers are having a laugh

Aside of the crowd they get there is NOTHING remotely attractive for Hughes and co to venture over to the council owned manchester stadium.

I think everyone can discount Hughesy going to the blue half of Scumchester as working for the Thai desport is going to be similar to that in Kings Road.

Just spent 40 mins in the supermarket reading all of the dross headlines and I am not concerned by any of the headlines in this mornings media.

All the reports about Rovers manager/players are all rehashed in fact the only other laughable peice of news concerns little old burnley and them losing their star player laugherty

IN fairness Eddie, I would be in the minority too! £8 million cash + a ready made replacement and decent squad player seems like a good deal for a player who hasn't consistently performed at the highest level....nor can he displace the aging Beckham in the England team. Beckham has contribued a couple of assists in his last couple of games, Bentley has offered little.

Don't get mne wrong, I like Bentley and think he's an excellent player, but Lennon offers us something we don't have, Ghaly - I can take or leave, but at worst you could offload him for another couple of million. That still leaves £8m to bolster the midfield.

Remember, Bentley burst onto the scene, then did nothing for 2-3 years before settling down at Rovers. Who's to say Lennon wouldn't do the same?

Lennon's crossing can be worked on

Coaches at Leeds and Spurs haven't managed to improve that area of his game, so why do you reckon we could? Leeds and Spurs have decent coaching setups so you would expect some improvement.

I don't want Lennon anywhere near this club, he is rubbish. I have to shake my head at those who rate the guy or want him here.

Hull want Portsmouth's David Nugent who is available for around £3m. (The People)

One of yours Nicko?

I take it you don't know about Sh1ttu to Rangers/West Bom/Hull in Daily Star then?

No to the first.

Shittu is available and Watford are trying to start an auction. He is a 'bomb scare' defender in thw rods of a managerial chum of mine.

Tony Pulis apparently being pushed out of Stoke?

Nicko, can you see something being announced on Monday on the Chelsea front?

The Times and some other papers said there could be an announcement then.

I think Chelsea want an answer from Scolari on Monday. If he does not give them a commitment or show he is keen then I suggest it's the time when the alarm bells goes off and there's a call to put on the full body armour round Blackburn way...

I fear we are wasting our time hoping it will be resolved on Monday- this one doesn't have the feeling of being on the point of drawing to a quick and clinical end. And that goes for both the Hughes and Bentley sagas.

I just don't get it.

A foible is seized upon and it justs grows uncontrollably into a fully fledged myth. Ridulous - a bit like the time Peter Crouch was public enemy number 1 for being tall. People saw him a few times, heard others moan about him and concluded that he was a lanky, talentless guy and kept mentioning the name Ormondroyd (before my time).

Lennon is a good young player who would easily improve our squad and arguably be a decent replacement for Bentley. He was one of Spurs' best players the previous season. He suffered a dip due to recurring injuries.

The dismissive attitude amongst Rovers fans towards Lennon is about as justifiable as the non-Blackburn people who have watched Bentley's England performances and labelled him as an over-hyped poor man's Beckham who is totally ineffective if closed down quickly. (And I've heard plenty of people say that).

Edit: But as someone said on the relevant thread(!) this rumour about Lennon is pie in the sky. I doubt he'd even be willing to join Rovers.

SkyBet running a market on which club Bentley will be at the beginning of next season, Liverpool odds look decent.

Blackburn 6/4

Tottenham 11/4

Chelsea 4/1

Liverpool 14/1

Arsenal 14/1

Aston Villa 20/1

Newcastle 20/1

Everton 25/1

SkyBet transfer odds

Any ideas if Spurs are close to signing Hart, person who told me is adamant it will be completed in the next few days.

Seen plenty of Lennon at both club and international level and he cannot cross. He is in no way a replacement for Bentley or should he be considered so. Roque was great for us because Bentley our only creative player was putting balls into the box. How many times did we see Bentley cross it towards the back post and Roque came running in to make a simple header. You will not get that kind of service from Lennon.

If Bentley goes we need a creative winger who can cross a ball so Roque can feed off, so that rules Lennon out.

Nicko, reckon anyone might try and hijack the Dos Santos transfer? Spurs keep saying he will be signing, but i can see a bigger club either in England or Europe perhaps hijacking the move.

Correct, all pace and no final product. A bit like SWP.

Is that "no it's not happening" or "no, it's not your story"?

What do you mean, or should I say, what does Owen Coyle mean by a "bomb scare" defender? I've only ever seen him make a couple of mistakes (one of those the one that let in Campbell at Vicarage Road, simply down to poor communication with Matt Sadler)otherwise not a bad defender at all... from set pieces though, in the air the guy is like a bullet out of a gun!
