Mancini doesn't really fit into exotic and exciting. His teams are boring and he's an arrogant @#/?. Unfortunately he's not as good a manager or as charismatic a man as Jose Mourinho, so he's just a hateable ######.

I think what has annoyed most people and certainly me, is that our club is going to come off the worst out of the three because of two chairmen who are trigger happy. we are getting punished because of other clubs/managers failings. man city and chelsea will walk away from all of this and carry on as if nothing has happened where as we could be damaged for seasons.

To be honest i think Hughes to Chelsea is a done deal.I wouldn`t be surprised if Chelsea`s board hasn`t encouraged Hughes to take this step to put Abramovich on the spot and force his hand.

Hughes knows Citeh would appoint him in a heartbeat so all he needed to do was to let his agent make the right noises towards them.

Hence the reported sighting of him with Kenyon last week. This could all be being played out to force the Russians hand. If it goes tits up and Hughes flops I expect Kenyon to be holding a motorway bridge up soon after..

I agree with some of the previous contributors who assert that they no longer consider Mark Hughes our manager.

He did well, but his behaviour over the last 24 hours is not worthy of a manager of Blackburn Rovers.

The debate needs to move on to his successor.

Thats what i think,i suspect Abramovich doesn`t really know a great deal about the football side of things and therefore doesn`t realise how good Hughes is (hence Kenyon and co having to convince him otherwise).

As far as Abramovich is concerned,he probably sees Scolari as the more obvious choice as all he sees is world cups on his c.v,even though he has done nothing in european club football.

Head says.........Tony Mowbray or Gordon Strachan

Bit of me that has a desire to stay in Premer League for at least 3 more seasons says..........Big Sam

Mischievous smile part of me says.......give Sven a contract then tear it up when it's due to start

Squeaky bum part says.....please not Mark Bowen....or (N)Owin Coyle

There is no obtainable manager out there who interests me one bit.

I just find this very depressing..... had a weird feeling all day.

I agree. I too can't think of an available manager who suits us. That's always been what i felt about Hughes - that he suited us and we suited him.

I'll be happy to be proved wrong and see that the board find another good manager, but I definitely can't spot him at the moment

My sentiments exactly. He has handed in a “virtual transfer request” because another club is offering him 15-20 k a week more to move sideways

If a player did this we would be up in arms, I would understand Mr Hughes if a top British ( top 4/ spurs) or a European giant had come in for him. But City are and having never been a top club; no matter how well supported or who much their supports tell you. This is a financial move not a football move

This is unless the board have gone back on promises of additional funds/ sale of key players. If so take back all of the above.

Got a feeling that this whole situation is going absolutely t*ts up for everyone:

- Citeh unnecessarily got rid of a Manager who would definitely have delivered on their 3 year plan

- The whole of football will add Citeh selling players you DON'T sell if you are moving up a level to them not closing the Hughes deal and make a sum that says Citeh are all mouth and no trousers

- Chelski also unnecessarily fired a Manager and find themselves in deep dodo

- The congratulatory SMSs will have been flowing between the Chelski squad and the special one at Inter. The Special one knows he has a window of opportunity NOW to spend his £100m and fill his boots at the expense of the guy who fired him

- Getting Big Phil to say YES right now is not enough; Chelski need the Manager on the ground now to stop Mourinho and Big Phil for sure aint going to walk out of the Portuguese Training Camp

- So they turn to Sparky but are the mega egos at the Bridge going to be persuaded by Sparky now Mourinho is taking them to Inter?

- Getting a strong affirmative that Hughes can keep his players is going to be the least Abramovich will ask of his scheming courtiers when they press him to appoint Hughes now, surely?

Whichever way you look at it, its a mess.

One thing that is certain is that Williams and Hughes have a huge mutual respect and regard and Williams will be doing his utmost not only to do his best by Rovers but also by Mark Hughes as well- something neither Citeh nor Chelsea seem to be capable of doing just now.

Thats babyhouse talk. Dont be bitter he's done a damned good job, has taken us as far as he can, left us with some serious value within the squad and quite simply outgrown us. Far better than to have appointed someone that's cocked things up and that nobody else wants.

I'm betting that the prospect of losing his best player cannot have helped his view on the situation either.

I can't believe that some fans are giving Hughes stick for going to talk to City. He has made it clear over the past twelve months that without new investment in players the club can't progress. That investment is not forthcoming as there appears to be no hint of a takeover on the horizon.

He's a young, ambitious manager and has been given to opportunity to talk to a club with more resources and bigger crowds than the Rovers. Why wouldn't he opt to talk to them? Football management is his chosen career not the management of Blackburn Rovers. If he feels he has taken the Rovers as far as he can on the resources available it's only natural that he should look for a new challenge.

If he stayed and wasn't able to strengthen the team and the club were in the relegation places come Christmas, how many of those giving him stick now would be shouting for his head six months down the line?

Wherever Hughes goes I wish him well. He has been great for the Rovers and I hope he brings success to whichever club he joins.

As for the Rovers, we've seen it all before, Carey, Furphy, Lee, Smith, Kendall and even Souness have all be enticed away after achieving success at Ewood Park. Sadly, losing your manager and best players is all part of being a Blackburn Rovers supporter. It's nothing new, individuals come and go but the club goes on and that's the main thing.

Erm - we thought he was here for the longer term as well, you signed your contract, you must stick to it......................or something
