How is this situation different to Redknapp and Newcastle?

Valid question, but we all know Harry is a bit of a drama queen. He made a big decision NOT to go from a small-ish club to a sleeping giant.

Mark Hughes flirted with Newcastle - I got slammed for asking direct questions of him at the time by the way - and now wants to talk to Man City. There is a repeating theme here. He WANTS to go.

Let him.

It makes me howl that there are people jumping on funeral pyres at the thought.

Souey took your club out of a coma, won a trophy, got you in Europe twice and there were cheers when he went.

Sparky kept it steady and now there is mourning...

It's football, accept it.

Get a more exciting manager and you end up winning.

Redknapp call the worst bluff ever seen in the history of the world.

Ever.

He went to talk to a club he thought he might want to manage. Hughes went to talk to a club hoping another would respond by offering him their role.

Fool.

But surely that's worse if anything on Redknapp's part.

As a Rovers fan we accept that the Chelsea job is a massive step up from us and if he wanted to go after that job, I for one don't see how we can complain too much about that, and if he wanted to mess City around a bit in the process then so be it.

However if he went for that City job and thought he might want to manage it but decided against it after listening to them, that's exactly Redknapp's situation.

You have a lot to answer for, my friend...but anyway.

Sparky is waiting on Chelsea coming in and they are not at the moment.

This is quite bizarre theatre.

Frankly, the more I think about it, how can Rovers take him seriously after he told them he wanted to talk to Man City? I can understand why John Williams told him to do one. I would have done the same.

Part of being a manager is having good judgement. And that was one bad call.

If Chelsea don't come in very shortly he will have to take Man City. I see no way that he can come back to Rovers.

It's a shame, I thought he was a rational if not spectacular manager. Now he just looks like a desperate man and that saddens me.

I agree Nicko, he can't go back. Williams has to put Rovers first and if that means biting the bullet then so be it! PLUS when I saw Hughes at the players awards evening the other week, something seemed different about him from previous meetings. The way he talked and body language was as though the fire had gone out.

Onwards and upwards. My money is on Big A!

Noone springs to mind, and whoever comes in will need in my view to pursuade the core of the team, santa cruz, nelsen, samba, warnock etc to stay. We have to get it right, we can't replace whoever comes in, in january if it goes all wrong and give them a pot of cash to get us out of trouble.

Sorry I missed a pretty vital word out of my post.

Redknapp didn't call the worst bluff.

Ever.

Hughes has.

Silly....

Shearer?

He won't take it. Neither will Strachan...checked.

There is one guy I think fits the role exactly.

But, forgive me, I will put a 'loyalty' bet on him when the market becomes live and real. Until then I will keep the thought to myself.

This guy would be ideal for you in every way.

Is there any truth in the Fat Sam rumours?

BIG FAT SAM'S BLUE WHITE ARMY.

Its not all doom and gloom he transformed Bolton into a top 8 premiership side and remember he gave every team he played a game weather its long ball or not as long as we win and get into europe im fine with whoever is in charge. Hughesies record against the big guns is appaling where as Fat Sam's is pretty good.

Look at his transfer record he can get big players just like Hughes, Fat Sam got Anelka,Campo,Okocha etc.. and has a very good backroom staff himself.

His scouting of unknowns is pretty good like Jaskalinien, Gardner, Vaz Te etc.

Ok we live with long ball but if we get in europe how can you complain, unless we sign Nolan?

Why won't Shearer take it? Surely a perfect first job.

Coppell, I remeber you saying it during the Sparky to Newcastle time.

?

We did the double over United, bear Arsenal at home in the FA Cup, Chelsea at home in the league, Liverpool last year. Who's left?

It was the inability to beat bloody Larrisa and Coventry which irks and may explains Rovers' approach. I think they must have someone lined up.
