speeeeeeedie Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 The Czech's have no chance; neither do the Swiss. Turkey were awful, Portugal could be better - I'd love to see the previously mentioned 4 deep lying attackers, they'd cause mayhem, but Scolari likes to be boring. Austria were very unlucky, Croatia are the 2004/2006 versions, not the 2007 one that humbled tin pot England. The Poles are no good, and the Germans are their efficient selves. Quite a slow start for me, but it will get better. I'm just happy there are decent games on.

Dunnfc Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 One thing that is guarenteed a good game is tonights match Holland vs Italy. What a game with the likes of Pirlo,Gattuso,Toni vs the likes of Sneijder,Van der Vaart and Huntelaar. Andre Ooijer should start acording to www.rovers.co.uk .
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I thought Germany looked really good last night in particular in the midfield and when attacking. Frings was immense and has such a great understanding with Ballack. I felt they had a couple of gears spare if they needed to. When it comes to this competition and the world cup its esssential you don't peak too soon. Looking forward to the France v Romania game, both sides have some real quality in their side and i could see a really close game, possibly a Romanian upset.
roversyoyo Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Waiting for Spain. My flatmate is Spanish, i'd never hear the end of it if they won. I'm hoping Holland do well.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Shockingly boring game between France and Romania
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 The last 5 mins have been pretty much all Romania. Let's hope they take advantage of the possession and put the French in deep merde
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Spain and Russia will be a cracker tomorrow. There is only going to be one cracker and thats Group Es Jacobs v Hovis.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 this has to be the worlds most boring tournement to date
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I will laugh my head off if the Romanians score in the last minute.
rover6 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 this has to be the worlds most boring tournement to date Weren't the first two games decent?
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Didn't see all of the Portugal v Turkey one...although the first was far from good !!!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Italy v Holland will be a cracker tonight. Excellent atmosphere from the Dutch and a dodgy Italian defence will see Holland win 2-1 with Ruuuuuuuuud scoring the winner. If i'm wrong, i'll buy you all a pint. (I'll buy but Brian_Gallagher will pay for it)

Sydney Rovers Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Shockingly boring game between France and Romania And yet it didn't fix my insomnia (game started at 2am Sydney time).
roversmum Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 It did mine. I fell asleep after five minutes and only just woke up

American Rover12 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Horrible call (or lack there of) for the NED goal.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 The Netherlands - Best team in the tournament so far. Excellent goal. 2-0
