i was thinking of that as well, but i seem to remember that the premier league had a midweek programme in the 1st week the last couple of seasons, unless my memory is playing up!!

That will depend on whether we are on TV or not.

Decent start could have been a lot worse.

Expect to get at least 10 ponits out the first 5 games?

Or let's look it at this.

Everton to beat us at home.

Hull to make everyone happy and pick up a point.

Always lose to West Ham.

Arsenal will beat us.

Probably beat Fulham.

Well, it looks like whoever we appoint at the moment we'll at least get some sort of "returning to his old club" game (Bolton, Liverpool, United, Boro, Chelsea...).

You missed Everton and West Ham (he said more in hope than expectation that your l'Equipe story is correct but you don't seem to believe it yourself....)

OR:

Pick up a point at Goodison which is realistic

Hull another Derby in the making should be 3 points

West ham 0 points

Arsenal could pick up a draw

Fulham should win

8 points aint bad

CL here we come :P

So we start with a quite local away trip – a tricky one, but also possibly one of the better times to play Everton as they tend to get stronger as the season goes on. Also a good chance for us to take a decent following

2nd half of the season we play all our the teams you would expect to be challenging for European competition teams at home – inc Everton, Villa, Tottenham, Pompey, Man City & Newcastle. We also play all this seasons’ top 4 away in that same period. So if by Christmas we can still be around 7th-9th then we have a great chance to take home advantage.

We have been at home on boxing day 6 times out of the 9 seasons, not really a bad ratio is it?

Newcastle have been away on boxing day the past 7 years or so!

Plus no one is playing on NYD this season as it falls on the Thursday before the FA Cup 3rd round weekend.

Hardly getting stuffed i'd say.

Just realised that the season is going to finish on 24th May with the FA Cup final on 30th May, never known a season to finish so late, in fact the FA Cup final could be after the Champions League Final which is usually towards the end of May.
