Bobby G Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Difficult start at Everton...But since its an early season then best chance as anytime as to get a result there. Give us the dates for the City games will you?
Guest Kamy100 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Rovers start with Everton (Away), followed by Hull (Home), West Ham (Away), Arsenal (Home) and Fulham (Home). Last game is WBA (Home). First time we play is City is 28 December at it is at Ewood!! The big four all at home before Christmas.
Blue n White Rover Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Rovers start with Everton (Away), followed by Hull (Home), West Ham (Away), Arsenal (Home) and Fulham (Home). Decent start could have been a lot worse. Expect to get at least 10 ponits out the first 5 games?
nellybc Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Gutted!! Does anyone know if they are saturdays for the 1st 2 games hoping the hull game is a saturday!! Rovers start with Everton (Away), followed by Hull (Home), West Ham (Away), Arsenal (Home) and Fulham (Home).
nellybc Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 i was thinking of that as well, but i seem to remember that the premier league had a midweek programme in the 1st week the last couple of seasons, unless my memory is playing up!! That will depend on whether we are on TV or not.
philipl Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Full list March to early April looks tough and going to Stamford Bridge for the last away game will be no picnic.
Mike Graham Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 damm: October conflicts with a couple of weeks away speaking at conferences in the States. Missing Manure at home (again, just like last season) and Bolton away.
Eddie Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Decent start could have been a lot worse. Expect to get at least 10 ponits out the first 5 games? Or let's look it at this. Everton to beat us at home. Hull to make everyone happy and pick up a point. Always lose to West Ham. Arsenal will beat us. Probably beat Fulham.
AggyBlue Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 and Bolton away. That should be good too, BFS going back to the breezeblock with us
Eddie Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Well, it looks like whoever we appoint at the moment we'll at least get some sort of "returning to his old club" game (Bolton, Liverpool, United, Boro, Chelsea...).
philipl Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Well, it looks like whoever we appoint at the moment we'll at least get some sort of "returning to his old club" game (Bolton, Liverpool, United, Boro, Chelsea...). You missed Everton and West Ham (he said more in hope than expectation that your l'Equipe story is correct but you don't seem to believe it yourself....)
Blue n White Rover Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Or let's look it at this. Everton to beat us at home. Hull to make everyone happy and pick up a point. Always lose to West Ham. Arsenal will beat us. Probably beat Fulham. OR: Pick up a point at Goodison which is realistic Hull another Derby in the making should be 3 points West ham 0 points Arsenal could pick up a draw Fulham should win 8 points aint bad CL here we come
gumboots Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 So the first game I can get to at ewood provided i decide to attend will be sept 13th. Never mind Lorient Lyon is during my hols again this year so I'll go to that.
Ronin Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Have the League & FA Cup fixtures been released yet too?
Hughesy Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 So we start with a quite local away trip – a tricky one, but also possibly one of the better times to play Everton as they tend to get stronger as the season goes on. Also a good chance for us to take a decent following 2nd half of the season we play all our the teams you would expect to be challenging for European competition teams at home – inc Everton, Villa, Tottenham, Pompey, Man City & Newcastle. We also play all this seasons’ top 4 away in that same period. So if by Christmas we can still be around 7th-9th then we have a great chance to take home advantage.
Hasta Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Wigan away pre-Christmas again. 13th of December. Marquee here we come.
Plastic Head Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 See we've been stuffed again - no Xmas fixtures at home for yet another season.
MarkBRFC Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 See we've been stuffed again - no Xmas fixtures at home for yet another season. ? We play on the 20th & 28th of December at Ewood!
Plastic Head Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 ? We play on the 20th & 28th of December at Ewood! Boxing day and New Years day are the 2 big xmas games. 20th is usually the worst attendances of the season.
MarkBRFC Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 We have been at home on boxing day 6 times out of the 9 seasons, not really a bad ratio is it? Newcastle have been away on boxing day the past 7 years or so! Plus no one is playing on NYD this season as it falls on the Thursday before the FA Cup 3rd round weekend. Hardly getting stuffed i'd say.
Plastic Head Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Anyway just looked at the tables on BBC website and were 3rd. Champion League here we come.... Premier League 2008-2009
thenodrog Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Full list March to early April looks tough and going to Stamford Bridge for the last away game will be no picnic. The new man had better get some points on the board early doors then.
Guest Kamy100 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Just realised that the season is going to finish on 24th May with the FA Cup final on 30th May, never known a season to finish so late, in fact the FA Cup final could be after the Champions League Final which is usually towards the end of May.
