bennyboyt11 Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 I thought it was just me. Something about him that worries me; definitely a bit odd. Suppose some fans might say mark of genius but not to me, I've never taken to the guy. The incident at Newcastle was started by one of their players - our lot were merely trying to protect Morten. Poor lad was attacked three times last season, at Bolton when jaaskelainen punched him (unpunished and 'not seen' by the ref or assistants); when Arteta grabbed him by the throat and when Beye(?) attacked him at Newcastle. thats what he gets for being a pretty boy!

BlueMonday Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Chelsea were in deep sh1t. They were in 100m in debt and in line for doing a 'Leeds'..... even before Leeds did a 'Leeds'. Fair enough. All that can be said then, is that the trustees want to have their cake and eat it and choke the life out of Rovers in the process. As I've said before, the caliber of buisness person they are trying to attract are the type of people who will play hardball themselves. I obviously don't count Dan Williams in that bracket
Exiledfan Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Contradictory reports about Riordan down dingle way. Latest is Coyle saying he ain't interested (if the quotes are accurate). Doesn't look like they'll be getting this "cracking" signing.

Exiledfan Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Oh well...you will have to wait until the morning for the answer to that one. A Burnley scoop in the Mirror? It could be bumper sales.
thenodrog Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 4 minutes in Oh, and the best bit is 5mns 30 Thank you socngill. As I said 6 of one........ and if the throw was ultimately given our way then we should be absolved of any guilt.
Sandiway Blue Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 A Burnley scoop in the Mirror? It could be bumper sales. He`ll have to make sure they are plenty of pictures with the story though so they know what the article is about
Pinch Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 4 minutes in Oh, and the best bit is 5mns 30 Aaah, Derbyshire...good memories hey? BTW - It was surely the mob action of our bench players (leaving the bench) that earned us a fine. Newcastle were never going to get touched (I'm surprised Beye was even booked on the day...although def. being the instigator of it all).
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Yeah I think Brown and t'Axe trying to do a Ricky Hatton on him might have got us that one...
LeChuck Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 First time I've seen that properly. Why were there loads of people on here saying Pedersen got hit in the face/throat or something? Nothing like that happened at all.
roversmum Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 First time I've seen that properly. Why were there loads of people on here saying Pedersen got hit in the face/throat or something? Nothing like that happened at all. Really? It was perhaps more of a push but even so.................
LeChuck Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 It was definitely just a push, Beye was just keeping Pedersen away from the ball, that picture is very deceiving when compared to the video evidence.
roversmum Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 It was still force. he was obviously pushing Peds quite hard. We had a good view from our seat in the sky!
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 It was still force. he was obviously pushing Peds quite hard. We had a good view from our seat in the sky! Very annoying when commentators are saying that players should be sent of for raising their hands - must be a red card offence surely ! I would love to see the referee's report for how he handled that incident. Unfortunately - just another example of how small town clubs are constantly at the wrong end of decisions - both by referee's and the FA.
Tom 1 Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 You really need another club bidding to get the best deal. And if that happens then we will no doubt get more for Bentley should he go. BTW Tom Am I the only one that thinks your manager is a touch unstable? He seems to be a good manager and gets linked with all the top jobs but he seems more than a shade 'odd' to me. I certainly wouldn't have him sa a studio pundit thats for sure. Never mind ranting and raging cos it shows weakness. Far better to stick to a 'don't get mad.... get even' mantra imo. lol, you get used to the madness. I don't think O'Neill is so much unstable, just think he is big on his values. He has been a bit stubborn with the Barry thing but that's because a player he helped so so much basically shat on him by slagging him off in an interview. I don't mind him as a pundit, he beats Hansen and Shearer any day but sometimes he goes on weird little rants when he does it...like Ibrahimovic in WC 2006 (though that was pretty funny). I don't think he's shown weakness really, just think he won't take any ######, but he's always been like that, Barry's not the first in the squad to experience MON in a bad mood. Get what your saying tho...missing the odd marble. Just seen the fine, Geordies got away with it?
thenodrog Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Very annoying when commentators are saying that players should be sent of for raising their hands - must be a red card offence surely ! Are you kidding DMTP?
they_think_its_all_rover Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Geovanni is now going to come over...for our Hull City readers. ...I was just about to send you a message letting you know that Radio Humberside have announced this, so the person they 'believe' to be the guy from Holland could be true... here it is for you to check out Nicko; Roy Makaay.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Are you kidding DMTP? I don't agree with the rules - but players have been sent off for far less than the Newcastle player in this case.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 The MGP thing is daft... it seemed the Newcastle player (was it Beye?) did more... I thought we'd already been fined for it anyway? ...unless I dreamt it up? I'm certain I remember Rovers being fined because of what Jason Brown does in the melee.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 What did he do in the melee? I haven't seen the clip for a while. as I remember...he looked as though he took a swipe at a player, not a punch and not a push... somewhere in-between. I think it looked more vicious than it was though.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Sorry to keep mentioning Hull City stuff, but Nicko gives us info, it's only fair we give him some back to help with him finding stories out... it's one big circle.... so anyone not liking news to do with other clubs, I'm sorry for adding to Tom's, Ffan's and Bumley questions/info... Nicko, a name has sprung out of nowhere in the past hour.... George Boeteng from Middlesborough is apparently talking with Phil Brown. Burnsie on Sportstalk has named; Mendy, Geovanni & Boeteng to be possibly signed by the weekend... so I don't know it the striker/Holland thing got mixed up and it's not Makaay!?! ...and in fact mixed up with Boeteng. ...on a random sidenote, do you know of any clubs interested in Nicky Maynard at Crewe, Nicko?
leftfooter Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 'Neville in court over leg break' http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england...ter/7486171.stm Speaking at the hearing, Gary Neville said: "I would have expected a no-brainer for him to go and be a top level football player..." 2 points to extrapolate from the above. 1. Did anyone ever think that the term 'no-brainer' would be used by Gary Neville, other than as the title to his autobiography? 2. How will the admitted 'negligence', to the possible tune of 16 million pounds impact Middlesborough's insurance premium?
The Prof. Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 You've not watched much of Emerton, the only right winger scared of the touchline, running forwards or crossing the ball, playing on the right have you? Oh no - I've seen him run forwards, under Souness he beat the whole team (can't rememer who) and then ran all the way back and passed to Friedel who kicked it into touch! Stop Forrest! But that was a long time ago. Can't cross for toffee.
