I had my suspicions regarding this particular poster. Nobody I know has a close relative who is a Burnley fan and I'm from Accy.

In fact nobody from Burnley has a close relative outside the same house.

Put the notebook away detective. It doesn't hurt to have the odd bit of dingle news on a 3000+ post thread, particularly when things are relatively quiet down at Ewood.

Apart from capitalising on a small typo, you've once again managed to post a complete load of tripe.

I'm not going to carry on fighting my point, as you live many thousands of miles away and clearly just ''don't get it.'' This isn't American sport. This is in no way a level playing field. No matter how strong your mentality is, the guys with the best players (coincidently those with the most money) will eventually come out on top.

Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Aston Villa, Man City, Everton, Sunderland, West Ham, Newcastle, and to be totally honest Middlesbrough are all bigger clubs than us, and all of those will spend from twice as much to ten times as much as us this summer. Portsmouth are similar in size but have much more money and will strengthen a similar ability squad more so than ourselves.

Taking your unrealistic and relegated manager ''we wanna win, we're in it to win it etc etc'' attitude away for a moment, ''Top 8 isn't a big achievement?'' Absolute garbage.

 I never said anything about the playing field being level, nor have I suggested we would even finish top half this year. You think top 4 finishes are completely impossible when we've been close twice in the last 6 seasons. I think they are possible. Likely? No. Not unless something unforeseen happens like a new owner with megabucks and a desire to go nuts. But if you go into the start of a season believing there's no chance at glory at all, then what's the point of suiting up in the first place. And there IS NO GLORY in finishing 8th. As for the "many thousands of miles away" bit....

This morning's Sunday Mirror reports that Sparky is after Brad Friedel and will be making a bid this week.

That sounds like one of the strangest stories ever to me:-

1, The city camp have been raving about how important it is to keep Hart. Hart nor Brad would want to play number 2

2. Brad has said that he is happy to stay with us for the rest of his career - normally I wouldn't believe this from a footballer but in this case I do

Some stories make you think and some make you wonder who makes this stuff up.

Nicko: Whats the news today? Waited all night for it!

The idea is to buy the paper...

1 - Everton will come in for Bentley if they sell Arteta. This might just solve a few problems. They have the money - and maybe even a player - to make the deal happen. And they are 'bigger' and almost in the Champions League.

2 - Rovers are watching - among others - Stuttgart's Mexican right back Osorio. Pretty decent. As I say, one of several being watched in that position.

3 - Chris Ronnie has pulled out of the takeover battle. He thinks the club is over-valued and has told his lawyers to withdraw. Nabeel Chowdery is still £10 million short of what the Trustees want. There are other reasons why Ronnie is unhappy.

Also being linked with McFadden.

We are? Again another mental story considering that Brum have stated this week that they would want loads of money to sell him - on a Ronaldo scale they said.

Somebody stuck a bit of the Friedel to Man City tale at the bottom of my Bentley story.

I wouldn't dismiss that altogether...we don't know yet whether Brad and Ince got on at Liverpool. That's one to watch.

The McFadden thing is at a very early stage.

It's not my story, but it's not entirely mental. But, like I say, early early days on that one.

There was a video up on sky sports a couple of weeks ago with Brad backing Ince and saying good things about him?

Yes, but what does Ince think about Brad? I wouldn't say it was true, but I wouldn't dismiss this Man City tale out of hand.

Are you able to divulge nicko?

Many thanks for the info once again nicko, if we were reliant on the LT and the Club to know what was going on we'd know no more than the official "nothing to report" line.

Personally I don't think the club is particularly over-priced at 40m + debts and think the Trustees are perfectly justified in holding out for a decent price. However I do feel that for as long as they do remain in control, they should be backing the manager.

According to the NOTW, Samba will be at Rovers next season as he's very happy at the club and he looks forward to working with Paul Ince.

Interesting to see McFadden's name being mentioned. I've always thought his reputation was bigger than his ability but I guess when a great player like Bentley is on the verge of leaving the club, I guess we would rather a great replacement rather than a good replacement who hasn't really set the Premiership alight.

Why is the story strange?

If you were Hughes and had worked with Friedel for years, wouldn't you be interested in signing him?

Ronnie felt there was someone at the club blocking him. This theory was supported by the lack of information coming back.

He was also very upset about Sparky going. He wanted him kept at all costs and wanted him to be a director.

He was then unhappy with the choice of Paul Ince.

The final straw came with the information supplied and his feeling that the figures didn't stack up.

I think he could have tried harder and made a more sustained effort, but that's just me.

I would have to say he has bought more multi-million companies than I have...

In Ince really after Keith andrews?

I do not know much about him but he is 28 (not exactly young) and he has flourished in league 2, is he worth £2 million and can he cope with the PL.

''Jjb supremo Ronnie told middlemen Rothschild he was pulling out because he thinks the club is worth only £25m.''

I'm quite frankly disgusted at that, surely that's an out and out p1ss take.Just what the hell is going on here, there are other Premiership clubs who will be spending around that on one player this summer. We are trying to be bought on the cheap by utter chancers who will no doubt be looking to sell for a profit in the not too distant future......a complete lack of respect being shown here.

As for any significant money being spent by these chancers you must be f'kin joking!

Brad to City.......jesus wept! do we need to be kicked in the head anymore when we are on the floor?

A big thanks for all the good news on our club this fine morning boys 'n' girls.

FFS!

£25,000,000 is a bit of an undrestimate though..He wants it all for next to nothing. No wonder they weren't interested..They have only made an offer for Brad nothing has been accecpted yet. but this is modern football.

As a Jock I'd welcome McFadden, he's versitile and has that spark, he could quite happily play in the hole behind RSC, left wing to give Gamst the rocket we all know he needs. Pity he hasn't got pace to burn though. Surely BC will want top dollar for him though but I bet they could take Roberts in P/X.

The thing that I find funny is that Rio Ferdinand is worth more than our Football Club - very strange when you think of it like that isnt it

I have to say I'm gobsmacked at the valuation, surely our turnover is near that amount, Half a Ronaldo, shocking. No wonder nothings happening.
