if brad friedal goes-we will be after paul robinson for 4million..

i thought paul ince and brad friedal got on at liverpool any way-surely he wouldnt sell him..

also in same paper, malbranque to aston villa for 4million-surely we should be looking at him

so the james mcfadden link has something in it?? if mcfadden produced his international form in the premierleague id say go for it-but he doesnt..plus 5.5million seems alot on a forward when we already have 4 decent strikers..

I'm not saying Brad wants to leave - exactly the opposite. But it is possible that Ince doesn't fancy him or doesn't rate him.

I find that absolutely impossible to believe! Every pundit, supporter, manager, reporter in the land recognises Friedals ability. If your suggestion is true it destroys what little confidence that I have in his managerial ability.

In fact each week brings more reason for pessimism imo.

I too find it hard to believe, but we've now been linked with Cudicini and Robinson, Friedel is one of the best around. One last big paycheck? Crack at the top 4? who knows?

I can believe we are looking for a back-up, but I won't believe we are looking to replace him unless I see it for myself!

Here's a positive for you!

What attempts could he have made? You can't force a manager to stay at the club if he wants to leave. And Hughes had clearly been wanting to leave for some time - remember his reactions to the Newcastle job?

I've no idea what went on behind the scenes but resolving issues that were prompting him to leave might have been an option. Speculating here but it seems Hughes wanted the Chelsea job (who wouldn't?)so we should have allowed him to talk to them secretely but NEVER have slammed the door shut on him and actually forcing him to take the City option. Time will tell but neither BRFC nor Hughes will benefit from that imo.

And what would that be?

The old Dan Williams PR thing that still makes me howl? Or maybe I'm Chris Ronnie's PR machine? Or Nabeel Chowdery's?

Jeez, if I get any more PR work I'll maybe buy it myself...

Maybe it's just chasing a story for so long that you realise what the big problem is.

Pray tell...

BUT it appears that even if a consortium Bin Laden, Mugabe and Coco the bloody clown made a bid of some coloured beads, a postcard with the twin towers still on and a few thousand green shield stamps for BRFC that you would support it.

Well its not dead and buried, what was your impression of him? did he say anything about his vision for the club, investment period etc??

Do you think he's right for the club?

Is there anything we the fans could do to aid a takeover???

Yeah pay double for your season ticket Majiball...... cos that's certainly what will be coming whatever happens.

When have I 'supported' a bid. I find out who these people are, try to get as much info as I can, pass it on.

I liked Dan Williams's ideas, but he came to nothing although ironically I bet the club wishes they sold to him now.

I know Chris Ronnie is well-connected in football, but I never said he was The Man.

And Nabeel Chowdery was polite enough to answer questions from someone he has never met or previously spoken to.

So I don't know where 'support' comes from.

JOE GARNER - Forest bid is right despite his injury, but I don't know if there is a sell-on. I suspect there will be.

PAUL ROBINSON - I doubt it.

BRAD FRIEDEL - Some people tell me he got on with Ince at Liverpool, some others say he didn't. Only time will tell.

JAMES MCFADDEN - As I said before - a few months back - I don't think he is top-class for the Premier League. Nice skill, not strong enough.

If Ince is prepared to sell the guy who in my opinion has done more to keep us in the premier league than any other player at Ewood he's obviously not fit to be in the job. I accept that one day Brad will have to hang up the gloves but I don't think we're at that point yet, last season he must have got 10 pts for us on his own. It's significant that the first rumour/leak after Ince's appointment was that he wanted Cudicini. As for Andrew, McFadden, Robinson- Noooooooo they're not good enough.

Brad rumours surely are rubbish. In addition, I do not rate Paul Robinson, never have.

On the face of it, Nabeel Chowdery is not the man to take us forward. Whilst he may be keen on taking us over as a pure investment (fair play to him), I would be very surprised if the Trustees sold to him.

Mate I'm a perenial student, 30 and still studying, I get up about 5-6 times a year and still buy one. I would find the money somehow - medical experiment would suffice.

If I had to pay double though I would expect to see, investment in both the team and the club as a whole. Starting with the youth department, that would go some way to eliviating my wallets pain!

Agree about them 2 but i think Robinson would be worth a chance especially if Brad could help him with a bit of coaching?

JW answers to the trust, he can't decide to plunge the club deeper into debt, to satisfy Hughes needs, the trust would block it. JW has his hands tied, he's told what he has and does what he can for the club.

Indeed as I have said many times on here. Philipl of course knows differently. Sorry I mean PhilipL thinks he knows different.

The only weapon Williams has is his resignation and I doubt that he'd risk that.

All my frustration at our takeover saga has just dissappeared

Last season Brad showed he still has it and that he is still one of the best keepers in the league. If he continues to keep himself fit and remain injury free i could quite easilly see him going on for a few years yet.

There could well be truth in Ince wanting him out, we have been linked to Cudicini recently, though at the same time Ince did say on the official site that Brad is a top keeper and he is looking forward to speaking and working with him. I guess we just don't know yet what Ince's plans are.

It would be managerial suicide if Ince got rid of him.

Wouldn't mind Robinson in anyway. His confidence could be built up, and perhaps the competition with Brad might be good for both players.

The inference is not both at Ewood but rather Robinson in Brad out.

As ###### poor as it is he has one in FM2008, my flat mate just checked - don't laugh I know its a game, but it is quite accurate at times.

We have a board, that provides bugger all now, at least he wants to put money in. We are all making judgements based on rumours and interpretation, until Chowdery spells out his plans or has bid accepted we're all shooting blanks.

He may have been poor at time, christ i was mug enough to buy one as well (mine was fine though). Buts he's already said he would not be involved day to day, I also do not believe he would get rid of JW, so how much would really change, I suspect not alot. If he's as canny a business man as people are saying then he must know the old adage if its not broke don't fix it, but one or two new people to help JW drive us forward would not go amiss.

No, that wasn't his plan.

It's gone now - and will remain that way - but I know of the first two players he planned to sign.

Trust me, they were about as far from cheap as is humanly possible.

It's frustrating but he didn't go through with it...and that's that.

But it's like deja vu after the Dan Williams affair.

Ohhhh you despicable tease. Come on, give us something to talk about..........

Any chance we'll ever find out who those players Ronnie wanted to sign might be?
