Tell you what alan. I've never seen your house but I've taken some advice off a bloke who goes in your local who reckons to know a bit about property and has given me his estimation of the value of your house. He says you are a bit borrasic at the moment but that houses close by are fetching half a million. And so on his advice I'm prepared to offer 275 grand for your house.... may not seem much but it'll leave me enough to stick a nice conservatory on one end and change the kitchen. Is it a deal or do you want me to tell this bloke to keep his nose out of your goddam business?

BRFC would be a completely different animal today if it were not for the Walker years. We'd be playing in front of 4 figure crowds and Ewood would probably only be open on two sides and a team of 3rd rate journeymen would be training an Plessy fields. We'd be 2 major trophies down as well and the nearest we'd have been to playing in Europe would be the Manx trophy, so who can begrudge them wanting some sort of a return on that investment?

It does seem to me that you really are consistently keen on undervaluing BRFC and whipping up the locals into conflict with the trust. I am beginning to wonder again whether or not you have a hidden agenda. <_<

I don’t post here much but I read this thread everyday and you should know better than this. There’s no room for any sentiment in all this. Jack decided to invest in our club and it was his fortune, we don’t owe the trustees anything, it was his money! What Nicko says is right we desperately need investment and we need the largest amount of money available to us as is possible. At some point in the future we are going to have to spend more money than at present its inevitable. I don’t think there are any agendas here, we need to be sold and we have been on the market for a long time. At some point we are going have to get into bed with someone and stop prick teasing ginger business men.

Ohhhh you despicable tease. Come on, give us something to talk about..........

Nope.

Neither will come off now and it would only have Wat Tyler's internet army reaching for the sharp instruments if I said.

The point is that Ronnie did not go through with it.

Talk is cheap.

a lot of money/time can be saved with new routines etc that a new owner can put n action. as long as JW stays i think we are in good hands.

i dont believe Brad will leave. BUT what is he worth anyway? 1m? 2m? 500k? if bobby mimms is coming in as goalie coach, will there be room for Friedel when he decide to hang up his gloves? i'd say try to keep him, but sell if the money is right. he will retire in a few years anyway, so why not cash in if there is anything to get?

robinson is a good 'keeper, but have been out of it for some time. he can get back at a new club. friedel was not exactly super at liverpool either

glad samba is staying! now if warnock says the same i will be happy. im confident cruz will stay, and bentley i dont care for at the moment. its ok by me if he leaves for everton. they are a great club with a lot of potential. but who could we bring in? SWP?

were we linked with matijsen or not?

i dont believe there will be a takeover anytime soon. if the trust value us at 40+17m and the buyers are looking at areound 25-30+17, then the difference is way to big. this chowdery guy dont have much more to spend anyway if he buy the club for 57m, he has already spent 1/3 of his money, and thats before handing ince a kitty. that means he is about to throw at least 67m at a football club in one big swoop. i dont see it happening.

latest from the Tribal. nicko can you mark these with "yes" "no" or "maybe" :D

--

Blackburn Rovers are favourites to land Olympique Marseille striker Djibril Cisse.

The Observer says Marseille have sought to delay Cisse's return to English football for accounting purposes while raising their asking price for the striker by a third to around £9.5m. Blackburn remain foremost among the former Liverpool forward's suitors.

--

Hamburg defender Joris Mathijsen has a host of Premiership clubs chasing his signature.

Sunderland, Newcastle and Blackburn are battling to land the £10 million-rated Holland international.

Mathijsen moved to Germany from AZ Alkmaar two years ago for £7.9m, but his displays this summer have seen his value soar.

they do look a bit pricey, dont they?

Yes, but what does Ince think about Brad?

In Ince's first interview on Rovers World he stated that he couldn't wait for the squad to come back and Brad especially. He also said he would get the low down on the team from Bradders. IMO he wouldn't leave even if Ince didn't like him, he loves the place.

One was being moved on - the other was a long-term idea.

one youngster with bags of potential then, and a proven player ah well, nevermind its better we don't know. He must have had some thought out plans for the club then pity they couldn't sort something out, I like the fact he's a football man!

OH GOD PLEASE NO, WE CAN DO BETTER THAN HIM 9.5M IS RIDICULOUS AMOUNT FOR HIM.

AGAIN TOO MUCH MONEY I WOULD NOT WANT TO SEE INCE SPENDING ALL THIS ON ONE PLAYER, I WANT HIM TO PROVE HE HAS AN EYE FOR ONE FIRST!

I have reason to believe that the Man City in for Brad story was put about by City to scare Joe Hart into signing a new contract.

That is from a good source, unconfirmed, but certainly fits.

The follow-on to that could be that City will go for Brad if Hart doesn't sign a contract.

So it's an intriguing one.

i dont get it. if all these links with city is true (i know they probably are not, but still) then hughes could end up with: Friedel, bentley, cruz, samba, mokoena... half of rovers :D so much for finding a bigger club. haha

seriuosly i dont see anyone coming in for brad. and even if they did i dont see him leaving. he has a year or two left on the field, and will not find a club where his chances of coaching jobs are bigger. for him the grass wont get greener than that at ewood.

Be interesting to know Freidals intentions for 2 years hence. It might be that his supposed tie-up with Choudry as well as his investment in soccer schools stateside is part of long term plans for importing US talent in to the Prem. Work permits permitting we could provide a good platform for showcasing US talent to the european market.

Certainly better us forging such links than Villa or City.

Well thats a dangerous game, same as trying to push Chelsea then having no option but to join City.

Hart could easily think, Im not signing a contract, I dont want to play second fiddle if they are thinking of signing a new keeper

That makes sense, he was meant to be signing so guess its a scare tactic to put ink on paper. Would be surprised if he did not though, we could demand Hart in exchange!

according to this

http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/sport/footba...98487-20634163/

if brad friedal goes-we will be after paul robinson for 4million..

i thought paul ince and brad friedal got on at liverpool any way-surely he wouldnt sell him..

also in same paper, malbranque to aston villa for 4million-surely we should be looking at him

so the james mcfadden link has something in it?? if mcfadden produced his international form in the premierleague id say go for it-but he doesnt..plus 5.5million seems alot on a forward when we already have 4 decent strikers..

Papers keep sticking Villa and Blackburn after the same players at the moment. Malbranque would be a good squaddie, I'm nervous about Paul Robinson I think i'd rather Blackburn have him! The little line at the end would be brilliant if we got Miguel so sign...but judging by some of our other links...probably not worth getting my hopes up.

Without being bias vs Brum, Blackburn should stay clear of McFadden, they overspent on him and he really isn't that good...whole rep based on the Scotland games, never base it on their internationals, thats why we thought Baros was good...

Soccer (football from now on) is the fastest growing sport in the US, and does not look like abating anytime soon, I'm sure I read that under the age of 14 more kids now play football than any other sport. There federation has planned cleverly and executed all stages on schedule with sound investment in youth development, and training complexs:

http://www.soccerhall.org/US_NationalTeamRec_Intro.htm

with so many kids now taking up the sport, surely one or two players will come through, our strong american connections through one of there only real successes over here Bradders, should be tapped into.

If it keeps going at the rate it is, then they will surely become one of the footballing powers in 15-20 years, and if we have strong links it can only benefit us, in the long term finacially and on the field.

The idea is to buy the paper...

1 - Everton will come in for Bentley if they sell Arteta. This might just solve a few problems. They have the money - and maybe even a player - to make the deal happen. And they are 'bigger' and almost in the Champions League.

"Almost" in the same way I "almost" won the lottery last night........if only the six numbers chosen were the same as mine and not six different ones?

I think that was a sarcastic reply to the negative response Chowdery got on here... Not that their was a new bidder...

As for Friedel, he has that acadamy in the States, so is surely alright at Coaching, why don't the club offer him the Coaching berth at the club, or at least offer him a part in it...?

Or perhaps it's Brad's turn to be linked with a move to join up with Hughes.

Afterall, so far we've had Bentley, Roque, Warnock, Nelsen & Samba at least being mentioned. I'm surprised you buy these rumours so readily Alan - you must realise that journos are about as reliable source of information as Hilda Ogden's tealeaves. ;)
