That really isn't that bad an idea. Maybe also a neck brace to keep his head up? So he can watch where he's going?

So: no time on the ball, neck brace and blinkers. Cracked it. I bet there's a bloody sell on clause though.

Only for the blinkers !

You know what? This is NICKOS thread. it can contain whatever fits, and transfers absolutely do, even though its villa or everton or burnley. villa and everton transfers do concern us anyway so im happy to know whats going on there. now that we are talking bentley, sure its of interest to know who the others are looking at? if arteta goes, then that opens up for bentley leaving doesnt it?

welcome all :)

and i hope Tarik stays. he is porn on a pitch to watch, so i hope either stay or get to blackburn

You know what? It's a BLACKBURN FAN'S messageboard.

As much as I like to read nicko's tidbits about the other 19 clubs, I don't really want to see this messageboard clogged with requests from every Tom, Dick and Harry asking about who's linked with who.....

The values of the player/players in the swap would still be included in the sale price - and Arsenal would get their slice.

There is no way round it.

And you don't want anyone's cast-offs if you can help it.

But hang on, the value of a player is purely subjective. Players don't have set prices as far as I'm aware so how are they judged in swap deals? Is a monetary amount even mentioned or are swap deals in reality just two clubs buying a player off each other in the normal way?

Anyway, the way around it would be to agree with Tottenham that say Lennon and Chimbonda are worth 1p each and if they agree to sell them to use for that price they can have Bentley for £5-7m (depending on how we really value the pair). That way Arsenal only get less than half than a full cash deal! Afterall surely Spurs would want to screw over Arsenal too.

The cynic in me thinks this is all a set up by Rovers to try and put Spurs off. The thought of giving Wenger £8.5m for nothing must smart a little afterall. Could this be the first evidence of Ince's ruthless mindgames?

A tribunal would decide in the event of a dispute...

Well there was a healthy (?) coincidence between Spuds announcing in the Guardian that they had an over-priced reject for every position the press had most recently speculated our players away from Ewood (Roque, Brad and Bentley) and the Nicko release that we wanted £17m and cash only because £7m of it had to go to the Arse.

It seems to have quietened the media anyway- Spuds are in for Joaquin and Pavlyuchenko at £12m each today whilst Liverpool are about to splash £18m on Robbie Keane if they can ever conclude the Crouch to Pompey deal. The Guardian story of yesterday has disappeared from their site.

Elsewhere, Keith Andrews linked to Sheff U and Eric Steele and Mark Howard as keeper and fitness coaches respectively the latest two backroom boys linked to Rovers.

I have no problem about fans fromother clubs popping up here- its Nicko's thread. With Nicko and Coyle being such good mates, there is a certain irony that the dingles have to come to www.brfcs.com to find out what is happening in their midden.

Re the entirely hypothetical debate on swap values, if the clubs don't agree a monetary value whether they are actually paying each other in cash, electronic funds, players, bottle tops or hookers, there is no transfer. These things have to be registered by folks like the FA, EPL and the tax man and they won't do unless the £££ are spelt out. Lord Stevens will be on to you if you don't.

Anybody can cross a ball.look up,find a player, head down,if u a left footed player, right foot beside the ball, and then wrap your left foot around the ball.kids get taught these things at a young age,its a lame excuse to say that players cant cross a ball.even at bert's age, with the right coach he can stil learn to cross.lennon is stil young as wel,so he can develop into a fine player.

We're being linked with Sebastian Larrson today in the Daily Mirror. Any truth in that Nicko?

I don't believe it.

My info is that Rovers want a right back and an attacking midfielder - and that's not changed.

Larsson was linked with Newcastle until they signed the Argie, Wigan would buy him if they sold Valencia...so it sounds like his agent is getting nervous that his player will stay in the Championship.

If Rovers wanted a right winger they could do much better than him.

Nicko, Villa fan here. Have you heard anything about us signing any players? There's been alot of rumours but no signings yet. Have you heard anything perhaps more concrete?

Thanks!

Keeper - any one from Boruc [too dear], Robinson, Guzan...Friedel [if you believe the hype].

Right back - pass.

Centre half - van Buyten was watched.

Right midfielder - Bentley [dear] or Milner [still quite dear]

Midfield - Sidwell [unless Newcastle move first].

Striker - if Maloney leaves...

I can't see Martin making his mind up on that lot in a hurry.

rovers are not looking at sidwell? werent we linked with him before?

Sidwell not on the Rovers radar to the best of my knowledge. Expensive, big wages. Not what is needed in terms of the present priorities.

Most of the rumours are sending him to Villa. I agree he's not what we need.

A bit in the Times about some American investors registering an interest in taking over the club any news on this Nicko??

The Times man obviously reads the local paper...

I'm still waiting on them naming these 'mystery Americans.'

You just said earlier that we need a attacking midfielder....I'd have thought Sidwell would be exactly that player.....

He's been available long enough and Rovers have not gone near.

Plus I cant remember a ginner at the club since Bernie Gallagher (the full back, not the golfer) came on loan from Villa in the late 80's.
