I also understand that chief scout Mike Rigg has left...with David Tuttle lined up for that job.

All very hectic.

Nicko has the kit man also left, and what about the Rovers backroom cheer leaders....seems like the whole backroom team has been completely,dismantled...

I'm not so sure.

Even at his 'height', many people on here thought that his stunning goals were masking otherwise poor performances. When the goals dried up they were proved to be correct in that analysis.

I think the problem is that people is measuring him up to Duff's wingplay. MGP at his best will be a goalscoring wing (about 10 PL goals a season), win headers, run a lot, provide some decent dead balls and deep runs in behind their defence. Even at his best he'll be slow, not the best of tacklers and mishit passes and crosses and not go past the fullback a lot.

Some people might argue that goals win matches and Andy Cole made a good career of not having an allround game. Other might want a traditional wing that go past the fullback and sets up goals.

I think his performances should be measured based on the type of player he is. Which last year was poor by any standards by the way. We should also bring in some competition

I cannot see it going down well with the fans if Ince lets him go.

The only way Ince will let Friedel go is if he wants to go, clubs may be trying to test his commitmentto Rovers after the change of manager and if his head gets turned, what can we do?

Any idea how much he had to do with Nelsen, Samba etc?

If he had quite a big role to play in Hughes finding the gems he did then we could be in real trouble.

Played a part in Samba...not sure of his input in others.

I know the current 'scouting' is watching a whole lot of DVDs in a hurry.

You might just be entering a very important time in your modern history...

I think it is all change.

Even the programme editor...[that's an in-joke].

So those stats show that Pedersen (on form) is as good, if not better than bentley.

What about Goals scored too?

im just looking quick through the stats, so i might miss something, but...

06/07 gamst had 6 goals. bentley 4

05/06 gamst 9, bentley 3 and bellamy (our top scorer) had 13.

07/08 gamst 4, bentley 6

remember this is in the league only, but from these stats bentley certainly does not come out very much higher than gamst. then again it says nothing about the open play.

I don’t think anyone is comparing duff to gamst…I think where duff has strong points, gamst has weak ones and vice versa..Gamst scores goals, duff at his best could take on the defence, whereas gamst seems a little weak in that part of his game.

I find it hard to believe Brad's head would be turned. He loves the club and didn't he commit himself to a new deal without an agent over a cup of tea not that long ago? The guy is blue and white through and through.

If Brad is to leave its far more likley that Ince doesn't want him. Perhaps Ince wants someone in younger, we have been linked to Cudichini, Robinson and Green.

But i find it complete madness, Brad is still one of the best keepers in the prem and is in my opinion better than the ones we have been linked to.

we cant let brad go. with so many changes we should wait and let him hang uup his boots at our club. he and tugay are the most experienced players we got, and nobody knows the club better. they could be vital this season because they know the club inside-out, while the entire team of coaches is brand new and have barely seen the training ground.

Friedel is probably one of the most respected players at the club. I can guarentee the lads respect him far more than they respect Paul Ince. If Friedel is forced out of the club he loves i think we'll see alot more players than expected wanting to leave in the next month

no point in either selling or buying brad. if we sell we will not get much money, and we will lose out on a potential coach (if he dont move back to the states)

the club who buy him will have to pay what? 1 mill? for one or maybe two seasons, and possibly not even getting him as a coach... i dont see the point. we should let him see out his career, and others should let young talent a chance. its silly to gamble on a old keeper like him. its not even given he will be a hit at any new club.

Seriously though lads - what offer would it take to get you to change your mind? Friedel is ageing now - surely a big fee would tempt the club?

37 years old, we won't get a huge fee.

And even if we did i wouldn't sell him. The guy is up there with Cech as the best keeper in the league.

I can't believe you are even entertaining the notion of getting rid of him.

How much did United pay for Van der Sar and how old was he?

Im not saying sell him - im saying if a daft offer came in, at his age, then the club would have to consider it surely! Especially when money is power at the moment!

The importance of a good keeper cannot be overstated. Were I JW the daft offer would have to come close to breaking Sunderland's record.

Think back to last season. How many games was Brad MOM? How many games did he keep us in despite at times sorry defending? You could argue that he gained us more points than any outfield player.
