thenodrog Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 i was just thinking, the Trustees having now made a U turn with the 3Million pound investment,is that a sign that they dont want to see the club,in trouble come the end of the season? With that in mind,if we in trouble and got relegated, the value that they want would completely become less. Therefore i think the turn around is purely to safe guard themselves,in any potential takeover that might occur, without the value of the club decreasing. More like being frightened of being tagged RACIST on here and in the national press by the likes of the usual heavily agenda'd individuals. After all they willingly gave 3m every year when white men were occupying the managers office..... and I'm only half kidding.

Parsonblue Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I think it is all change. And from my point of view none of it for the better. After being told that we would not be importing a large number of Fourth Division backroom staff from MK Dons we find that's exactly what we are doing. Ince, Mathias, Robinson, Francis, and now suggestions that Tuttle will arrive. Is it just me or is there something distinctly disappointing about a club that finished 7th in the Premier League assembling a backroom team from the bottom division? I'm beginning to wonder where this next level is that we are preparing to reach.
ABBEY Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 According to SSN Burnley are in the running to sign Chris Eagles from Man Utd. I always thought he may go on to be a real player. I wouldn't mind Ince snapping him up for a million or so. A pacey player with real quality and good schooling. if i had the wings of an eagle the dirty black ass of a crow id fly over burnley tommorow and s@@@ on the bast@@@@Ds below
gazsimm Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 10 million for Bentley plus lennon and robinson, if Brad goes will be a good deal for Rovers, that will give us 5 million cash and two good players to fill in the gaps of the players leaving
thenodrog Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Eric Steele will be the new Rovers goalkeeping coach. Does Brad like him as much as Kevin Hitchcock?
T4E Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Has somebody nicked your computer? No, I'm quite serious.
gazsimm Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Does Brad like him as much as Kevin Hitchcock? i think you should be saying does Paul Ince like Brad??????????????
Lathund Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 So those stats show that Pedersen (on form) is as good, if not better than bentley. What about Goals scored too? Assists are a flawed stat though. A lot of assists means a good attacking contribution, but a lack of assists doesn't mean that the player didn't create goals. To illustrate I wanted to show the McCarthy goal against Liverpool but can't find it. Anyhow, I'm sure you remember it: A Tugay stepover centrally gets Gerrard to fall on his arse, before Tugay threads a through ball on the left for MGP who crosses from the byline to the near post where Benni taps home. Now, Tugay doesn't get the assist for that, but he certainly played a huge part in that goal. In fact I don't think Tugay has had many assists at all in his Rovers career, but he certainly has been an integral part of many attacking moves leading to goals.
thenodrog Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 £7m?! Are you absolutely nuts? Please try to keep up tcj.

I know what you mean, but even so a winger of a top six club should provide min 10 a year with out fail.
modes98 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Modes, they also have that quote stuck to the changing rooms at the Shay (Halifax town). It didn;t do them to much good I didn't realise Brad lent his quotes out. Must be making a mint! I have the feeling Brad will be a really good coach, he has the right personality for it. May even be right to become a manager. He has already opened up his soccer school in the USA.
socngill Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 10 million for Bentley plus lennon and robinson, if Brad goes will be a good deal for Rovers, that will give us 5 million cash and two good players to fill in the gaps of the players leaving No, we'd get those players and be minus £2m at least. You still have to take into consideration the players being swapped and there values. So say it all added up to the magic £17m we would still have to pay Arsenal £7m. Sorry I mean we would have £3m left after the deal had gone through, not £5m. Edit - In fact I would value those two at about £6m each so that means the total value would be £22m. take away the three we paid that leaves £19m - 50% to Arsenal is £9.5m leaving us with only £500k.... that's right isn't it?
Majiball Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Rule one - always distrust comments by an agent when they mention three clubs after his player. Nicko is there anything behind the Bresicano Post yesterday?? I reckon he'd be interested and a great shout for our AMC position.

One of the best posts I've read in a while, Lathund. Assists are rubbish stats.
nicko Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Nicko is there anything behind the Bresicano Post yesterday?? I reckon he'd be interested and a great shout for our AMC position. He is not the name they are getting hot under the collar about at the moment.
imy9 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Any clues as to who we are getting hot under the collar about?
Majiball Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 He is not the name they are getting hot under the collar about at the moment. So they have settled on someone? are they talking to his club or just potential suitors at the moment? I'm guessing he's from abroad?
thenodrog Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hmmmm..... That is NOT my understanding of the situation. Last night I was lead to believe that Freidal would like to follow Hitchcock to City. Maybe time will tell. I have to say - and it goes against what I heard on Sunday - that there WILL be a bid or two for Brad Friedel very shortly. This is all a bit strange. I know he doesn't want to go... It goes perfectly well with what I heard and then informed you on here on Monday Alan. Something which you have not acknowledged at all and something that I got lots of criticism about too from amongst others gumboots, toogs and even Mr Brain of Football himself (eddie) etc. Tell you what next time I might just cut out the middle man and go straight to Andy Neild eh? btw Mods.... can I have my own thread?
Eddie Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Nicko is now saying that there will be bids, not that Friedel would like to leave. You said that Friedel specifically wants to go to City. More to the point, you added that he wanted to go to city to follow a goalkeeping coach, which is what I thought was very unlikely.
Eddie Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 He is not the name they are getting hot under the collar about at the moment. OK, I figure that is a clue of some sort, so I'll say we're interested in Rangers midfielder Carlos Cuellar or Murcia midfielder David Cuellar

Sparky Marky Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 He is not the name they are getting hot under the collar about at the moment. Go on Nicko...prove your doubters wrong...give us a heads up....

You said Brad wants out...he doesn't. I said when the stories first came out that there was something slightly strange about it - and perhaps someone was trying to sell him. Why not apply for Andy's job - but first smear yourself with honey and then enter the bear pit.
nicko Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Go on Nicko...prove your doubters wrong...give us a heads up.... Yeah right, I'll also find a tree and a strong rope before dangling from it. You can wait for the paper in the morning.
nicko Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 OK, I figure that is a clue of some sort, so I'll say we're interested in Rangers midfielder Carlos Cuellar or Murcia midfielder David Cuellar No, it's not.
