Exiled in Toronto Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 And from my point of view none of it for the better. After being told that we would not be importing a large number of Fourth Division backroom staff from MK Dons we find that's exactly what we are doing. Ince, Mathias, Robinson, Francis, and now suggestions that Tuttle will arrive. Is it just me or is there something distinctly disappointing about a club that finished 7th in the Premier League assembling a backroom team from the bottom division? I'm beginning to wonder where this next level is that we are preparing to reach. Since Hughes had been allowed to fill EVERY position with his Wales mates - sacking Parkes, pensioning off Darracot etc. - this was always a problem going to happen. No matter who we had got as manager, they would have had to import at least half a dozen others. I would have thought that the Chairman would have considered this when recruiting the manager: that he was actually recruiting an entire football management structure rather than an individual. Ince can't be blamed; he has all these vacancies to fill so has to fill them with people he is comfortable with. The question is: are they all 4th division calibre, or did Ince, even in a lowly job, surround himslef with people who met his exacting Man U/Inter/Lpool standards? Personally, I would think the latter, but we'll see.

Majiball Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 No, there is no way in the world that anyone guesses this name. Not even worth trying. So if we guess it you'll spit it out then?
Sandiway Blue Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 No, there is no way in the world that anyone guesses this name. Not even worth trying. Ronaldo? Is he playing abroad or british based?
nicko Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 So if we guess it you'll spit it out then? There is no way anyone will guess this...I'm not being smart - it's just TOO obscure. But that's not a bad thing.
Majiball Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 There is no way anyone will guess this...I'm not being smart - it's just TOO obscure. But that's not a bad thing. Does that mean he's not from Europe then??
nicko Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Does that mean he's not from Europe then?? No more clues. Got a concert to see. Check in when the paper boy delivers in the morning.
Zulu Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 No. Things are not THAT bad. Are you sure? Really sure? There appear to be more than a few squeaky bums on here at the moment, Nicko.
EwoodGlory Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Won't be the one Nicko is talking about, but at least it's something to look at. WEST VANCOUVER LAD GETS PROFESSIONAL TRIAL WITH BLACKBURN ROVERS FC Victoria Technical Director, Dave Dew announced today that West Vancouver native, Michael Nonni, commenced a one week trial with Blackburn Rovers of the English Premier League earlier this week. He is currently training with the reserve team and will see playing time this Friday versus Manchester United Reserves. http://www.fcvictoria.com/
Zulu Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 No more squeaky than over at t'breezeblock Zulu Indeed, but we may be a tad more realistic about what the future may hold.
Hughesy Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 We are realistic Zulu - We are of a similar size to your club but Fact is our team is much better than urs and we do not fear relegation, your lot do! Shame!
AndyR Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Indeed, but we may be a tad more realistic about what the future may hold. Yup, black and fizzy, comes in red cans and has the word championship at the end. * Caution may contain Burnley, Preston and Blackpool
imy9 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Orlando Engelaar or -Ibrahim Afellay perhaps? I think the guy is Dutch based on what some people have said on here, oh well we will have to wait til the morning to see where this is headed!
Zulu Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 So kind of two (at least) of you to jump in and prove my point.
Mr Creosote Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 We are realistic Zulu - We are of a similar size to your club but Fact is our team is much better than urs and we do not fear relegation, your lot do! Shame! Not sure about that but I'm fairly confident that we'll be watching better football than them on't moors. Jesus, theres a lot of Villa fans on here!
Mr Creosote Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 SSN are trumpeting the resignation of John Wardle at Ci'eh as though it's something significant. Wonder if Nicko can shed any light on the latest development at the Beswick circus before he shoots of to see Westlife?
Iceman Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Im hoping its Nihat, then again,im hoping its Nedved that nicko is talking about.stil cant believe what a flop andy van der meyde(sp) turned out to be.i stil think he is a good player, that could do a good job.
philipl Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Yup, black and fizzy, comes in red cans and has the word championship at the end. * Caution may contain Burnley, Preston and Blackpool That prompted to pop out to get a coke- very refreshing! don't want to be melodramatic but selling Brad now would be like flogging off Clayton or Douglas at the end of their careers. Not the same obviously but about as close as you can get to it in this day and age. Friedel is talismatic charismatic and automatic-ally our keeper. I don't care if we get a "silly" offer- we cannot sell him, surely?
gazsimm Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Paul Scholes i am going for or am i just dreaming!!!!!!

Trickstar Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 On the mystery midfielder front I'm going for Ariel Ortega just finished his contract at River Plate
modes98 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Im hoping its Nihat, then again,im hoping its Nedved that nicko is talking about Make your mind up! It can only be 1 player.
Rover down South Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Without me scouring back pages, has it been mentioned that we are to agree £12.5 million for Bentley from Spuds + Steed Malbranque? Saw it on internet just now, can't get link up at minute. Probably old news.
