Majiball Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 To be honest I wouldn't want Brad as a coach, it's his amazing reflects and shot-stopping instincts that have made him a stand-out goalkeeper, and they can't be coached. There have long been questions about his starting position on set-pieces and command of his area, and they're really the sort of areas that a goalkeeping would cover. Reflexes, can be improved on the training pitch, Instincts also improve through training, through being in similiar situations. Don't forget brad had two CB's in front of him last year how did not perform as we know they both can, that does not help him. Brad does everything he can to maintain, his peak condition. He is a big enough man to say when he's not gonna be at the top. Yes brad makes mistakes but as with all keeping mistakes they are costly, he still makes very few of them though! You really do think Paul Ince, of Man Yoo, Inter and Liverpool, 50 England caps, has no idea what 'good' looks like when it comes to coaching? Whereas you with x years in the Blackburn Combination do? OK, but before condemning the man, personally I'd like to see who he sells, buys, picks, drops, improves, how he uses subs and so on. You know, the stuff that actually really matters. Yes Paul should know what good looks like. Don't forget our 1st team is now trained by two with no Prem experience in Matihas and McKinnon, Knox has been brought in because of his so-called Prem experience which amounts to 1 year in prem with united, 3 years at everton and 1 disasterous year at bolton, in which as assistant manager he would have had a big say in decisions (abliet we don't know whether his opinion was listened to). Don't forget football is a friends game. Now they maybe the best coaches in the world, but if so why were they not already in the prem? We will soon find out, and I will reserve judgement till then. The training pitch is the most important part of any football club, far more so than any of the points you have raised, if its not right there it won't matter how good he is at selling, buying, subbing etc.

modes98 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 You don't have to be a good goalkeeper to make a good goalkeeping coach... Correct. It's about the way you can rely the skills needed and Brad has the perfect personality to be a coach IMO.
RevidgeBlue Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Like Nicko said Castillo is set to fly over to England to have a medical.................it is also being reported that he was very close to joining Juventus last year but that deal fell through.............Hes a big strong holding midfielder and whos very good with his head............has a good scoring record for a midfielder...........I remember the last time Rovers were in for a Ecudurian(Valencia) but backed out at the last moment and look what we missed out on............He led Red Star to a double this year and was voted "the Best foreign player".............This guy looks mean and plays mean..........Hope hes Inces 1st signing.......... Do you have a slightly bigger picture of him?
EwoodGlory Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Does anyone know anything about Luis Garcia from Espanyol? Seen a report that Spurs have agreed a deal for £10m. Would this affect them going for Bentley? Tottenham Clinch Luis García Deal Goal.com have got a few things wrong in the past though.
nicko Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 Do you have a slightly bigger picture of him? One big lad by the looks. The scales had better be good in the medical room to take those thighs! Cheers for the updated info unleaded. Shame the Mirror underplayed it.
nicko Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 Any ideas on who Newcastle are signing today Nicko? Word is all the transfers are trying to be kept under wrap from now on, and the Newcastle Chronicle will be the first to announce all signings. EDIT: Mirror says it's Gokham Inler. Mirror certainly does... Newcastle have met the asking price, but Udinese now want him to sign a new deal - and there is further interest in Italy. Good player, reasonable price. But not a done deal yet - not right now anyway.
EwoodGlory Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Roberto Carlos size legs by the looks of it EDIT: Cheers

Crazy summer at Spurs. Just when you think they are adding good players...a few more get taken away.

den Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I think you may be right. Be careful bypassing the swear filter, Den Jong Il will have you........ by the scrotum. Anyway, most compare me to some other dictator whom I can't remember the name of. God knows why people think I'm a dictator, you couldn't wish to meet a gentler, kinder, sort of guy.

Isn't he the Luis Garcia that used to play for Liverpool and sucked his thumb everytime he scored?
nicko Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 Sorry, are we saying he's coming to England with a view to talking to/signing for us? That is the plan. However Rovers need to find out whether he is free or not - and if not what the 'owners' want and how they can pay it... Like I said, complicated.

More of a Ho Chi Minh or Fidel Castro. Anyway On topic. Isn't £6M a lot for a player out of contract with a third party owner. He is also playing in a minor league.
EwoodGlory Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Isn't he the Luis Garcia that used to play for Liverpool and sucked his thumb everytime he scored? No, different one
nicko Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 Keane offski then? If the story is true then that becomes more likely - but Spurs are also trying to offload Darren Bent.
Mr Creosote Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 If the story is true then that becomes more likely - but Spurs are also trying to offload Darren Bent. For about £16m of course.
alexanders Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I don't think we will ever pay £6m for this Castillo lad, so please stop asking if it is too much. We all know that he will join us if we can get him for free -> £3m?
nicko Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 For about £16m of course. £12 million is the current price for Darren Bent. About £6 million too much if you ask me.
