Head Rover Heels Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Roundabouts are the way to go-Living in Swindon i'm in a bad postion to moan about roundabouts really - We've taken a simple idea and turned it into possibly the most convoluted road junction in the entire world The magic roundabout Haven't really got a problem with the roundabout ideal, apart from the amount of tyres i get through, and moments of absolute drunken "genius" as shown in the link.

AndyC Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 As a former resident of Milton Keynes (for 10 years), I'd take issue about the road system. It's the most logical one anywhere in Britain, and until relatively recently was unburdened by those darn silly traffic light thingys. Roundabouts are the way to go- I could get into work in about 10 minutes from 6 Miles away and there was loads of parking. But the best thing was as it was a grid, there were infinite numbers of ways to get to anywhere. Living in London now, I miss the simplicity. And speed of travel! stick to a bike or the tube then! they are by far the easiest way to get around London!
AndyC Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 nicko in santa cruz's case , the way he played last year and the fact he's scoring goals at international level ; is there a chance a major european club could come in for him , maybe milan who are chasing adebayor or barca who are shipping out players especially forwards , left right and centre? yes there is a chance. you dont need nicko for that. If we cut down all the crazy questions, it wouldnt take 3 hours to read the thread every night!! ok ok its the end of a long week - i think i'd better go to the pub!
roversyoyo Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 stick to a bike or the tube then! they are by far the easiest way to get around London! That's unless you live saaarth of the river
BRFC4EVA Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 That's unless you live saaarth of the river We have the best over-ground system in country however! A car actually likes life more difficult in London!
brfcshabba Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Brilliant answer!! Ten Cates Blue White Army!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh so you can spell white
Iceman Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Nicko, any news on Ronaldo.im hoping he leaves united for NOT Madrid, but im hoping Barcelona.
Saf Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...r.html?ITO=1490 Premier League give green light for Ince to take over as new Blackburn manager
1864roverite Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I do not see the appointment of Ince causing a stir within the supporters of BRFC, Laudrup would very much do that. For me Laudrup has to be the far better option. He had a goo football ethic at Getafe, has experience and would bring a far better back up team than Ince and Mattias. Very disappointed if its Ince.
bringdunnback Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Ince or Laudrap I'm happy, I always wanted Ince but after reading up on Laudrap I was swayed towards the Dane but I'm not really bothered. Transfers up next please!!!!
Presty On Tour Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Ince's pen has not touched any contract paper yet as far as i know so there is still faith on Laudrup
Hannah Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 New Leicester boss is Nigel Pearson. Funny how he was never linked with our job!!!
bob fleming Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...r.html?ITO=1490 Premier League give green light for Ince to take over as new Blackburn manager Much the same on Sky Sports Teletext - but nothing on SS News. The longer the delay before an announcement the better as far as my £10 on Laudrup is concerned.
John Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 People giggled when I mentioned this morning that Laudrup was linked with our job. They said, Laudrup to Blackburn, that will never happen. Looks like they are right. All I can say is that Ince must have said all the right things in his interview and must has some decent plans for us....will be interesting to see his back-room staff, scouting set-up etc..
bonerdude Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 yeah it would be interesting to see if ince uses sports science like hughes did or t' old fashoined methood like souness....
dr_awol Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Very happy atm,BFS and the ex England manager not getting the job, if they got the job, i think BRFC would have been a bit boring, no one would have like that now it seams where down two young managers ,i would be happier with Laudrup, as he is a bit more proven at this level. i suspect that both will bring entertainment to ewood park.
SamTheShrew Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 transfers next...who will ince buy, seriously?? who could laudrup buy..... the more i think about this imminent decision, the more i dont know what im feeling, but it isnt good!
Alex Rover Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I know he's interested but does anyone know whether Laudrup would actually accept the job? if offered it
BRFC1995 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 he'll buy his son from liverpool as his 1st signing,probably!
nicko Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 The Premier League decision seems to have been made...the 'two years to get your licence' clause is a classic compromise. The ring-round sounds like a formality - despite some opposition. I think we know what happens next... Game just about over.
1864roverite Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Sky have reported that Ince is backed to become Rovers manager having been given the go ahead by the Premiership Big Wigs as long as he passes the A badge within 2 years.
John Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Nicko, you mentioned the other day that Ray Mathias is a good man..... please expand a little bit!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Should be announced tomorrow/tonight I guess? If he has a good backroom staff we shouldn't be too worried. Neither excited nor worried. We'll have to see what he pulls out of the hat.
krislu Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Oh dear, this will hunt us for years...just like "we could have had Zidane"! Can't believe that we are going for Ince if Laudrup would accept an offer.
