Yes. Bit worrying that given the number of heart problem related deaths in athletes over the past 4 or 5 years that no medical has picked this up before, particularly as I believe it is genetic and you would have thought that once his brother had died from it and given what he does for a living he would have had every test under the sun.

Maybe he's known about it but PSG are the first club to pick up on it? Does a player have to disclose private medical documents when he signs? That would seem unlikely. Maybe I'm being too cynical.

There are TWO bidders for Brad. This is becoming a bit serious.

Interesting when the full story comes out...very interesting.

I am starting to get a bit worried now. Friedel have stated several times that he loves the club and want to end his career at Ewood, and before Ince was appointed he even went out saying that Ince would be an ideal choice for Rovers. To top that Ince said in one of his first interviews that he would have a chat with his old team-mate from his Liverpool days to get to know Rovers as Friedel is Mr. Rovers.

They seemed to praise each other before/after the appointment, and how can someone NOT rate one of the premiership most consistent and best keepers?

I do not understand any of this :(

Here's one hoping Big Brad at the start of the season! :rover:

Why are they bidding, have they had encouragement from us or are they testing Ince's relationship with Brad.

I suspect the latter. We're known to be a bit skint and Brad's one of the better keeper around even if you don't have the blue-and-white glasses we all wear.

Basically: you don't ask, you don't get.

i think one of the clubs after Brad is Arsenal, they have off loaded the Big German as well this summer, so they are after a keeper. Maybe they will not ask for the sell on fee for Bentley, if they get Brad instead?????????

One of the clubs is now Man City...you can guess the other.

Don't know where Sparky thinks he is finding the money.

However City are officially in. I am not sure they will get him, but we shall see.

Astonishing.

Once we know who the clubs are then we will be able to tell more whether it is a push or a pull.

If it's anyone but the top 4 or City it would have to be a push. It certainly won't be United or Chelsea and it's unlikely that it is Liverpool. The only likely candidates would be Villa, City, Arsenal or Spurs.

seem to remember his saying he was quite shocked when he found out he had it and don't think he would lie about something that has affected him so badly in the past. Think he felt a bit let down that nobody had found it before. After all knowing your brother had died of it and you have it wouldn't have made you keen to go out and play, would it?

Where does Joe Hart fit into the equation?

Carlo Cudicini is an outstanding keeper and is younger than Brad.

Brad has been outstanding but lets be fair how many years do you think he has left? We need a new number at some point.

I'd rather remember him for his outstanding saves rather than him being a shadow of his former self.

any news what kind of bid they have put in for Brad? I had a feeling that sparky will eventually come back in for some of our players

Don't want MR Rovers to go because i don't think we will get much for him and when we buy a replacment we will get stiffed.

Nicko - £1 mill around that mark is it?

I would be certain that we would require a higher bid in order to even take the time to reject it.

The fact that there seems to be bidders is bad news.

The possibility that Ince would sell is horrific news - we shall see.

Yeah, he has a type of cardiompyopathie. Serious stuff.

Sad to be sure, but big Lillian has had a wonderful run in Football.

[iMO: you can't rate many better right backs, a personal fave]

I'm sure it makes it easier to walk away from the sport

now than say...... 15 years ago as he's accomplished so much in the sport.

Good luck to Big Lil.

I know the figure being mentioned by one of the clubs is £2.5 million. I don't know whether the other will go that far.

There is much more to this than meets the eye.

It is a very strange way to start a season.

He's already involved in French politics, so I'm sure he'll just go in that direction. I won't be shedding any tears for him anytime soon.

This isnt Blackburn Rovers anymore.

What message does this give to our players when we are selling Bentley (who should go), and Roque possibly and now Brad Friedel, a mainstay of the team!?!

Unless we are getting 5 million which we obviously wont be getting, its crazy.

Id only consider Robinson (who I think has the potential to be world class and has been overly criticized in the last few years) and Cudicini.

This is a CRAP summer to be a Rovers fan and not ONE PIECE OF NEWS has come out to even make us look forward to next season.

Bad news after bad news...

:(

So if the 'big clubs' have their way. Were going to be without Friedel, Bentley and Cruz next season...?

Along with loosing our manager, how could this summer get any worse...

The fact that the manager is looking to bring 1 or 2 new faces in, just goes to show something is really trully wrong with the club!

I thought we had £10 million kitty + Sparky compo + £3 million from trustees + whatever money we might get from selling Bentley...

Where has all this money gone...? Surely we need to be bringing in more than 2 faces...?
