This isnt Blackburn Rovers anymore.

What message does this give to our players when we are selling Bentley (who should go), and Roque possibly and now Brad Friedel, a mainstay of the team!?!

Unless we are getting 5 million which we obviously wont be getting, its crazy.

Id only consider Robinson (who I think has the potential to be world class and has been overly criticized in the last few years) and Cudicini.

This is a CRAP summer to be a Rovers fan and not ONE PIECE OF NEWS has come out to even make us look forward to next season.

Bad news after bad news...

:(

What news (i.e. actual facts) have we had?

1. Ince is the new manager

2. Ince has brought in his own team to replace those who MH has taken to City

3. Brad backs the new manager (as do several others of the first team)

4. There is no number 4

All the rest is specualtion.

Facts first, spit dummy out later.

Not to single you out Bobby - everyone's doing their nut off rumours is all

So if the 'big clubs' have their way. Were going to be without Friedel, Bentley and Cruz next season...?

Along with loosing our manager, how could this summer get any worse...

The fact that the manager is looking to bring 1 or 2 new faces in, just goes to show something is really trully wrong with the club!

I thought we had £10 million kitty + Sparky compo + £3 million from trustees + whatever money we might get from selling Bentley...

Where has all this money gone...? Surely we need to be bringing in more than 2 faces...?

money has probably gone to pay of some debts the club have, we need a new owner quickley who is going to put some serious cash into the club, another Jack walker would be nice.

Because Bentley, Friedel and RSC might leave? Blackburn Rovers will be around long after those three have gone.

true Blackburn Rovers will be around for a long time if these three leave, but what bloody division will we be in??????

Of course it will but the feeling that we get is that it's all downhill at the moment. We need a bit of encouragement. Everyone does. Blind faith and optimism are all well and good but they only get you the kind of reputation spurs fans have.

I agree Bobby.. the summer has been a bummer.

Perhaps Karma coming around from spring's schadenfreud?

(big club, noblot?)

Let's not lose our heads just yet, but it does make one think

that our general situation is tenuous as it was/is at those clubs.

it probabley won't happen, but if we don't find a new owner with a bit of cash behined him, we will not be able to keep hold of our best players, nevermind try and buy some good players.

Id like to hear rumors that we are interested in some GOOD players for once. Rather than constantly hearing it the other way around! Even if thats what they are, which they wont only be...Time will tell...

I bumped into a mate of John William's sister's godson yesterday and he told me that we're going to sign Lampard, Ronaldo and Adebayor in the next couple of weeks. We're going to fund it by selling Mokoena.

It turns out that Mokoena doesn't have normal blood like you and me, he has liquid gold running through his veins. As a consequence he's worth over £100M on the global commodities markets. The only stumbling block is how we're going to split Mokoena up between any potential buyers, as it's unlikely anyone will have the financial muscle to bid for a whole Mokoena.

You heard it here first. And to think some people wanted us to sell Mokoena for peanuts.

Rubbish,

Nicko, is this true?

Sooner or later Brad would have needed replacing and IMO no time would be a good time but it has to happen and as long as the club bring in a younger keeper and don't replace him with Cudicini who lets be honest hasn't played more than 5 games in a row for the last 5 seasons I will be happy Robinson would be a good option, Foster or Kuschak on loan for a season maybe.

And as for the money why do people think any of the compo money from Hughes leaving would automatically be added to the transfer kitty?? The club does have other costs it needs to cover and some of it would have been swallowed up bringing in Ince and all his team

I know the figure being mentioned by one of the clubs is £2.5 million. I don't know whether the other will go that far.

There is much more to this than meets the eye.

BELOW IS A SPECULATIVE GUESS:

Villa's Randy Lerner owns the Cleveland Browns.

Brad's from suburban Cleveland.

Brad's Premier Soccer Academies is in suburban Cleveland.

Cleveland has no MLS team but wants one, although Columbus isn't too far away.

Brad seems to be interested in running clubs in his future; the link with Nabeel Chowdery perhaps suggests this.

Lerner sees an opportunity to steal our keeper by capitalizing on a chance to create opportunities down the line for Brad that we can't compete with based on the circumstances listed above.

All the hyperbole here is for a reason.

Brad Friedel is VITAL to our club, and has been for season after season. No-one was worried about him leaving as it was simply too ludicrous a suggestion to even consider.

Ince - Wake up.

Ince is asking for permission to speak to Wily Gueret from Mk Dons!!

People are seriously over dramatizing this situation a lot.

IF - and it is only a IF - Brad Friedel goes I think it will be a good reason to it.

Like some have mentioned earlier - he isn't getting any younger.

Today is the 10th of July and people are harassing Blackburn for not doing anything on the transfer market ?

When shall we learn that we are extremely good at not letting Journo's know what we are doing.

PLEASE stop being scared and dooming Blackburn Rovers. At least wait until Christmas time and see where we are then !

As for getting a number one, i wouldnt mind seeing Brown in action!

And ronin, you avatar really matches this news about Big Brad

It's not news it's runour. The only news is another club likes Brad. I can think of 20 clubs that like Brad. More if you look outside the Premiership.

The way some folks are carrying on it's like he's already signed for another club.

Friedel was considered by many to have been the best goalkeeper in The Premier League last season.

I don't buy into this talk of him slowing down. Last season was one of his best for Rovers.

If true, the decision by Ince to dispense with him beggars belief and can only be on non-footballing grounds.

I'm all for new managers making statements of intent but you don't do that by returning Emerton to the right wing as Nicko suggests nor by selling a player as influential on the team as Brad.
