Earlydoors Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 What the # is going on ? I return half way through a rain sodden camping holiday (yes as in a tent) to find the only player to keep us in Premiership is being sold !!! Utter madness. Sensational signing must be through someone Ince knows, or more precisely Massimo Moratti controls so I'm thinking INTER MILAN Javier Zanetti ? Patrick Viera ? Luis Figo ? Ronaldo the fat transvetite one ?
roverfanuk Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Could it be someone like Rüştü Reçber to replace Brad?
Lathund Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 What the f**k is going on ? I return half way through a rain sodden camping holiday (yes as in a tent) to find the only player to keep us in Premiership is being sold !!! Utter madness. No you come home to find that there are clubs seriously interested in signing Friedel. That's not the same thing as him being sold. I find it odd how people are already condemning Ince for selling Friedel, when in fact nothing at all has yet happened. We don't know if Ince wants to sell him. We don't know if Friedel wants to go (Seems very very unlikely that he'd want to, but you never know), we really know nothing other than that City and Villa apparently want to sign him. So relax a bit until there's something concrete. Looking forward to seeing the news tomorrow.
spencey7 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 WHY IS EVERYONE BEING SO OPTIMISTIC?!?! Listen - This "sensational" signing is no-one good. If it was, it would at least have been mentioned by Sky Sports News as they went through the early editions. I desperately hope I'm wrong, but I fear tomorrow will be a dark day for all associated with Blackburn Rovers...

I'm not sure if Ince and Ronaldo played together ? Ince left in 97 and Fat Ron joined then but they may have crossed over he's only 31 and can fill the goal to try to replace Friedel
roverfanuk Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 This "sensational" signing is no-one good. If it was, it would at least have been mentioned by Sky Sports News as they went through the early editions. Damn it, i hate it when someone makes a really good point. All we can hope is that all the printing presses at The Mirror Towers were stuck and they didnt get a copy containing the Earth shattering news. Having said that spencey, if the news was dreadfull, surely the people reviewing would have brought it up to joke about the club. Now you know that the media wouldnt pass up a opportunity to put us down again!
LeChuck Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Ronaldo has knackered his knee ligaments again, it won't be him. Adriano would justify Nicko's reaction, surely he's unreachable though. I get the feeling that whoever it is will be astonishing for a reason other than being a massive name though.

Yes I started thinking someone who speaks same language as Roque but apparently Paraguay has 22 different languages !

If it was Barton or similar they would be running it constantly with interviews from former inmates describing him as "INSANE"
tony gale's mic Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 We're taking part in a footballing experiment. We swap all of our players with Manchester United, but retain the same fans, ground, players, manager and referee bias to see what position we both finish in.
Earlydoors Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 By the way biggest name in football Sócrates Brasileiro Sampaio de Souza Vieira de Oliveira former 82 Brazil captain, I think he was playing for a pub team in Grimsby, last I heard so he may have turned out against MK Dons last season
Majiball Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Bugger me Nicko I come home from a good night out, gotten over my shock with the possibility Fridel could be going and now this, your doing my swede in!!! the fact your shaking an hour after you heard it does not fill me with hope. But maybe the mystery americans have said right we'll cough up your 67M, and give Ince 1billion to sign all the top "slaves" in the world. That would be enough to make any Burnley boy shake for a week let alone an hour!!!
Mc Love Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Whoever it is, i know that i will prob have to sift through 20 pages when i wake up later on!!
awhom111 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Ha! The dingles lost to an American amateur (4th tier) side! I claim some credit for this of course because two of the players have connections to my university and I was in a class with one of them once. As for us signing Castillo, I did sign him for FC Metz in my latest FM game. (Now I need to find a way to make him score a goal). This leads me to believe that every time Nicko mentions a possible signing, I should just name every player I have ever had in FM at that position.
3recurring Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 If this is genuinely as dramatic a potential signing as Nicko's remarkably emotive wording suggests, then I would assume that this piece of news can only be of a positive nature. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Seedorf, yet (or maybe they have, and I've failed to notice). Given the recent noises he's made about wanting to play in the Premier League before he ends his career, he'd be my guess.
