So...as a new manager, you come in with big shoes to fill, skepticism from the supporters, and thus far your statement of intent has included sounding out offers for the club's legend of a keeper, and signing a fossil of a striker because he's a an ex-mate?

Resounding start to the Paul Ince era.

Anybody know if says if he's officially signed? I assume it's on a free.

So what now? Sell Roberts? Is he gonna take playing time away from Derbyshire? Officially worried.

just had a mate go get the mirror and was shocked when he said Robbie Fowler, has he got his coaching badges all of sudden

because he cant seriously be thinking of playing him.

Was Nicko's article in relation to a player signing or backroom?

I have to run to work so I don't have time to trawl through the thread, so apologies..

Does anybody have the full gist of the article?

Someone has to be taking the #.

Brad exit and now Fowler to Ewood.

If this is true then my earlier post regarding Jim Iley would appear to be on the cards.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Surely this is wind up??

The squad needs tinkering, not pointless additions.

No need for a complete revolution.

Robbie Fowler???

The Rovers have no need for another forward- he is not better than any of the players we have got andthat includes Paul Gallagher.

What have we done?

Wentto bed quietly expecting Ince was using his Italian contactsto make a significant move which might also signal real determinationn for Rovers to improve and find we have signed someone who could not hold a regular place at Cardiff and will start a stampede to the exit doors by all Rovers' best players.

This is just an ageing Frannie Jeffers and his wages will not be cheap either.

Fowler would be an embarrassment IMO. However, I'll believe it only when I see it is done and dusted. It might work if he was a 'Striker Coach' to get the best out of Benni and bring Derbs & Gally on...

Worried

Possible replacement for Santa Cruz, we should of bid for Andy Cole to partner him, or maybe Teddy Sheringham?

Maybe we should sign Massimo Taibi once we sell Friedel?

Get a grip Ince, we don't want has beens.

Oh dear. This is terrible news.

I thought Ince might be good but every move he's made so far has been terrible. When Hughes first left I was unaware of Ince's lack of coaching badges but that was the first bad sign. Then the terrible press conference, appointment of the full MK Dons staff + Archie Knox, soliciting offers for Brad and now THIS...

I get a feeling we have made a really bad move with Ince...

Who is next, ian rush, john barnes,or dalglish as a player?this is turning into a right old farce.if this is all true.then clearly Ince knows (Please don't use that word again)all about what he is doing.as a respected chairman, who has been with the club for so long,JW should not allow things like this.utter madness!

Nicko: Whats the story morning glory?

I heard Fowler would have an operation last season and maybe its just as a striker coach that he will arrive.

Castillo to sign?

If this Fowler/Brad stuff is true there is only 1 thing to add:

This message to Benni, Bents, MGP, Rocky, Samba, Warnock & BRAD: Run....., run away, run away as fast as you can, get your agents on the phone now, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!

Every story about us since Ince took over has been worse than the last, but the idea of selling Brad and signing Fowler just makes me feel a bit sick. If your logic on Friedel is that he's 37 and only has a couple of years left in him then how on earth do you then justify signing Robbie Fowler, who doesn't seem to have anything left in him at all? A bit part player in a mid-table Championship side is all Fowler is now.
