I'm waiting for shillito15 to come on and say this is a great move.

Gosh you're a pain aren't you.

No, but I stand by the fact that selling out 37 year old keeper for £2.5m and replacing him with a right, young English keeper certainly ranks as a good move.

You'll find I'm generally known as a pessimist around here, so stop trying to make me out as otherwise. And really, change your signature. It's/ you're embarrassing.

I did say it was a stunner.

When I got a call on this I thought I had been taken back in time about ten years.

The approach was made official yesterday. Fowler had started training with Cardiff for the new season but it is an open relationship, he could have stayed on a pay-as-you-play basis or left.

It is a shock because I am not sure he is terribly fit, but he is coming up to do the normal 'tests' that players do.

You could say it was brave by both Paul Ince and Fowler.

In Ince's case there is bound to be some howling and it is either genius or madness. The new manager obviously trusts his own opinion. To be fair to him I think some of his other targets are very imaginative - the Mexican, the Ecuadorian and a few others who I will keep back for now.

In Fowler's case he has walked out on a club for the chance of a short-term contract at Rovers. He has the money, so he has the choice. But he could still have taken the easy life.

I would expect Fowler to be at Blackburn for training today. That was the plan last night.

Unless he has been on here to read the reaction...

I hope Ince know what he does. Maybe he want Fowler Ewood bound so that he can make him a coach later....

Did you Remember that we signed Mark Hughes when he was 36, and Fowler is 33 and if he gets fit he can perform but Im a bit confused, time will tell.

Always wanted to see Fowler in rovers shirt when Shearer left but 10 years later....will see what happen.

I dont believe the news and i would take it with a pinch of salt that he is actually coming to be a player. - surely has to be more as a coach I think or to work with Rigters & Derbyshire on their game. Other than that I cannot see it. Surely he wouldnt get in before Benni, RSC, Roberts or Derbyshire.
