gumboots
But we need to give Paul Ince time. He's had under a week with the players, he's told Bentley he can only leave if the price is right, he has reassured us that none of the players will be leaving unless he says. Isn't that positive news? The club have made no comment on freidel nor has anyone else. Yes it maybe true, but until he signs for someone else, everything needs to calm down a little. Some of the comments about Ince if Brad leaves is ridiculous. He's the gaffer let him deal with the In and Outs at Rovers, we can just sit back and watch. Brad leaves and we get in a new keeper and rovers finish in top 6, Brad won't be mentioned. Thats how fickle fans are, just give Ince the time and IF we are stuggling then have a pop at him, not when the guys had under a week with his players! But talk is cheap and the arrival of Fowler is real. I'm not against giving Ince time but am just trying to explain why I think people are so agitated. Personally I wouldn't sell friedel and I wouldn't allow fowler into the Ribble valley, let alone into Brockhall, but I'm not the manager and it's not my call. However, I do think that the Robbie fowler news is bad timing at least by Ince, and could prove to be a big mistake.
The Gull
When Hughes brought Bowen in did we question him? His previous coaching history wasn't exactly glamorous, working for big head. When Hughes brought Kevin Hitchcock in did we question him? Don't recall him being a "top" coach before he came to us and his playing history wasn't exactlt top class. Glynn Hodges??????????? Hughes had the same penchant of jobs for the boys, either playing buddies or those he had worked with for Wales. Do you think Hughes personally scouted Nelsen, Samba, McCarthy, Bentley and Santa Cruz? A signing or selling of a player at Rovers is never down to just the manager, he plays a part of course, but not always as much as you may think. If people want to believe the worst than believe it, you have a 1 in 3 chance of being right, we either struggle next season, consolidate or exceed last years achievements. For us to finish 7th last season was a truely great achievement in supposedly the best league in the world, to match that again this year would be an even greater achievement in my view. I agree with some of the sentiments if certain things are true, but until the truth is known and the season is underway I will not write off Ince just yet. MI ROVER
Can't b bothered reading the last 20 pages but I have lost the will to live after reading the initial news. I am perplexed dismayed etc etc. Ince what are you doing !!!! I would have liked to seen the reaction if BFS had made these moves there would have been a public hanging. I am with Jim Mk2 come Nov we will be pleading for BFS to rescue the rovers. Fowler Fowler ........ we might as well get Pauline Fowler.
mattyboy6000
You're havin' a laugh. Fowler scores goals, they don't. You're telling me you'd rather have them coming on with 10min left in a game rather than Fowler. this is the 2008/2009 season, not 1998/99, he wouldn't get a touch Jeffers and Fowler got nothing in common? what, apart from being washed up scouse party boys? he's dead in the water as a player, as Jan correctly points outs too lazy to be of any benefit as a coach, it woudl help though if Ince got a grip of the media and made sure sources such as the BBC aren't incorrectly reporting players like Fowler being given a contract, as was the case first thing this morning. they changed their story mid morning
thenodrog
Bernard Manning simply said.If it had been Fowler who had taken 12 shots at John Lennon he would still be alive today...... Priceless. Just been talking to a boardmember who scarily compared the last Big Time Charlie type of manager in this area who signed old crocks on big money who were well past their sell-by date and took his club down and down almost to oblivion. Step forward Mr John Bond!
67splitscreen
Just Suppose! Ince, thinks that several players in the first team squad, just can't cut it, in a ever advancing Premier League. Maybe he and his staff after accessing the squad believe the likes of Rigters, Gallacher, Peters, and a few others, could be sold on. As we are not in Europe this year, he may feel we can reduce the squad, thus allowing more finance for purchases and wages of quality players. Then strengthen the squad again next season if we get into Europe. If this is the case and a fit Fowler ?????, coming from the bench would allow him this opportunity, and be a good appointment. If he got us half a dozen goals from the bench ?????, in tight matches, it might just do the trick. There are several quotes on this mornings LET site, from Ince, that do have more positive signs. As for Brad, Just what he is thinking rite now, i cannot imagine.

rebelmswar
We haven't signed him!!! We must keep telling ourselves that, there is no other option. We haven't and we wont, he is just here to scare the hell out of the strikers we have. I can see Benny right now. "Replace me with who? I'll show you." I can dream. Yep but we don't need a new main striker - we have Cruz and Benni both of whom are better than lanky Pete. and for £11m?!?!?

67splitscreen
This has certainly, taken the focus off the pending arrival of Castilo. Not to mention any other targets we may be lining up. Maybe it's all a shield, while every one in football is p!ss!ng then selves laughing, the real business is being done, out of reach of the media. Saviola, just been spotted at Uncle Jacks, tucking into pie and peas.

Montfort
This is so dissapointing and depressing. I have never had a post edited by the moderators but came close this morning. You could not make it up could you. I cannot see any scenario where I think that Fowler could do a job for us. Hope Ince reads BRFCS. He should do. It would be heartbreaking to see Brad in goal against us.

Do you think Hughes personally scouted Nelsen, Samba, McCarthy, Bentley and Santa Cruz? Bowen was very highly rated and in for managers jobs when Hughes got him for Wales and then logically he followed. Wasn't Hitchcock working for someone of note and he also has a premiership pedigree behind him. Glynn Hodge worked with Hughes at wales, so that was a logical step as well. You missed out Tony Studwick, who was taken on by Man Utd, because he was so good and Eddie Niedzwiecki who was at Arsenal before he came to us. So not a bad backroom team, rather than the MK Dons backroom. Hughes saw quite a few of them play for himself before he signed them, but you could watch Benni or Rocky on TV as they were at big european clubs and Bentley played in the premiership. However the main guy who originally scouted them has left ot join him at Man City!

Bazrakats
Sherwood told setantasports.com: “Paul Ince knows him better than anyone and he obviously feels for no money, or very little transfer fee, it’s worth having him. “He’s not going to play every game, everyone knows that, but for Blackburn, who haven’t got much money, they need these free transfer type signings if they get an injury crisis. “His impact on the squad on and off the pitch will be massive. I think it’s a great move – if, if he’s fit. He actually speaks a little sense there.
