sjsbrfc Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 because i was serious about not supportign the club anymore, your point means nothing we hav come to expect more, were not a 3rd tier team anymore who get tiny gates, thats like saying if we get relegated it doesnt matter because we were once in the championship, all the re-building of the squad we have done other the past 4 years looks like its all goin to waste if what nicko is saying is actualy true. Don't support the club then. If one 'potental' signing makes you feel like that then you are truely a fair weather supporter. Make sure the door doesn't hit you on your way out

Rover9 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 The potential Fowler move just does not make sense for a nunber of reasons. Most of them already mentioned. Also don't like Ince's comments about maybe having to 'gamble' with one of our signings. Of course, every signing is a risk but it did not come across well. Ince obviously is keen to stamp his own authority on the squad. No need for changing things for the sake of it though.... Yeah I were a bit surprised with that comment, he said something along the lines that he is surprised at the ammount of players you get offered by agents etc being a premiership manager and he may just have to take a gamble on one or two as Rovers aren't a club that can go spend £20m on one player! If thats the case then whats the point in having a scouting system at the club strange.
Majiball Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 He was caught smoking a massive biff on the pre season tour, Aaron Mokoena stitched him up with a little help from his South African dealer and BRFCS' very own Iccers. Archie Knox caught him behind the bike sheds on camp, and the Guv hastily docked out his Cigar, brushed off his sheepskin coat and told him he's out the door. Meanwhile, Robbie has been up to his own tricks snorting lines with Bert, who is still convinced he's a right winger. Still no news on any new right back. Thats the best Laugh I've had all day!!! imo it can only be down to personality clashes either now or in Liverpools Spice Lounge. Whatever I'm fairly certain that sure that Brad has two good years in him as No 1 keeper and at least another couple as understudy on the bench / gkeeper coach. That is not only football sense it must surely up to financial sense too. Something is rotten ......... Brads the consumite professional, can well imagine the spice boys antics did not go down too well!
thenodrog Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 i bet Eveton are cacking themselves at the prospect of coming up against golden boots fowler at the start of the season Thats the issue isn't it? Imagine a situation with opposing centre halves and with their team 1-0 up after 70 mins. Lets suppose that we allow them the choice of selecting our subs with Benny coming off to be replaced by either Roberts / Derbs / Fowler. Who do you think they would select?

Make sure the door doesn't hit you on your way out well said, this stuff is totally ridiculous, but i aint going to stop supporting Rovers coz of it. I might stop supporting Ince if Friedel is shunted out, but if your willing to drop your club coz of something like this then you dont deserve to support this club.

Make sure the door doesn't hit you on your way out Don't be so smarmy sjsbrfc. There are about 7-10 thousand walk ons that the club has spent much time and money on attracting. You may hold Pick in some contempt but BRFC cannot afford to.
T4E Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Don't be so smarmy Next on BRFCS, Don warns of the ills of binge drinking.....
John Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Always interesting to see fans reactions when a player leaves their club. Cardiff fans thought Fowler was absolutely useless for them, but more importantly (after reading some of their reactions), they feel that Fowler's body is just not upto playing football anymore.
BRFC1995 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Thank goodness for a dose of sanity on this issue. Ince clearly wants a balance of youth and experience around him. Do you honestly think Ince is going to put his reputation on the line by signing an unfit Fowler? If he`s not fit then he doesnt sign. fowler was one of the best strikers around in Prem history. His knowledge will be vital to others in the squad. exactly how does this knwledge help anyone in our team, i take it that you mean prudent financial knowledge and not how to # away your fitness and hunger!
1864roverite Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 When I got a text this morning about RF I thought it was a wind up so I have now just got to post the fact that I went out and bought the mirror for a laugh - YES AN I actually bought the mirrir ! Now I have just curled one down the pan and wiped my ar$e wih it there was that much crud written in it. Fowler does not do anything for Rovers prospects apart froma big expenses bill. Selling BRAD puts us in a dangerous scenario and will see Rovers relegate themselves from the top 7 to the bottom 7 and we WILL be facing a relegation battle. I am normally optimistic about Rovers but now I find myself joining the pessimistic TND and Rev
thenodrog Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I am normally optimistic about Rovers but now I find myself joining the pessimistic TND and Rev Oi! Speak for youself 1864, I'm not a pessimist I'm a reallist.
John Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I was in the office this morning and we have Sky News on the plasma screen. It flashed up in breaking news, 'Robbie Fowler to join Blackburn'. Most of my side of the office started to laugh out loud (around 20 people). I honestly thought I was having a nightmare
Dunnfc Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Look at it this way. Fowler been around the block and is known to unite changing rooms perhaps this is a ploy from Ince to get the changing room happy and united together as it has been lacking since Savage left. Fowler is also a deadly finisher or (was) and perhaps can mentor Derbyshire and help bring him along. Fowler has joined the camp for training, after four weeks we discover hes a shower of shat and say good bye.
Iceman Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Shilito that made me laugh, but i only deal with legal drugs, doctor iccers lol.so at 32,with modern day fitness programs, healthy eating, sports science institutions etc etc you are done supposedly.i remember roger milla playing at the age of 40.its amazing, that so many players today, retire before the age of 35.
tcj_jones Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Selling Friedel would undoubtedly take us out of contention for Europe unless an exceptionally good replacement were brought in. There is not a doubt in my mind of that. Anti Niemi is the only keeper available who could come close to Friedel's heroics. Remember his performances against us at Craven Cottage last season? Why on earth Fulham brought in Schrawzer, I'll never know. Not in the same class.
John Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Niemi is a decent, but it was not so long ago he went through a really horrible patch of form.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I can't believe that any manager in any walk of life would start a new job in this fashion. The guy is obviously a dip stick. Before any one jumps down my throat , the silence from Ewood is positively deafening , say it ain't so guys.
John Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Look at it this way. Fowler been around the block and is known to unite changing rooms perhaps this is a ploy from Ince to get the changing room happy and united together as it has been lacking since Savage left. I am pretty sure Brad is very popular in the changing room. Not just as a guy, but also for the fact of saving our arSes on so many occasions.
MancVillan Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Robbie is just training with you lot right? Or have I missed something, and he has actually signed? No harm in looking I suppose. Could be a good impact player if you were chasing a game. Fitness is an issue, but I'm sure your coaching staff will assess him on this.
bats Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Nicko you said that there are some exciting, young players being looked at, could you possibly tell us any? Please some, bring us some good news!
shraffy Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 well. not that i EVER post here - i just read daily. BUT i am depressed. the only thing that unites a room is winning. period. RF will not hep us win. therefor we dont want him. period. ps. the away kit sucks.
Iceman Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Oh well.that keeper from Celtic would also be good.but like i said,i wonder what jason brown makes out of all of this.he must have thought,he would take over when friedel leaves, with fielding or nielsen promoted as under study to brown.
