Theno get's a bit over-excited now and again Nicko......think it's his age! :)

Me over excited Fife? God only knows I wish I was. But nicko's age must mean that he is experiencing the male menopause and experiencing mood swings cos surely I am not the only one to notice that the content of his posts have taken a serious switch in both tone and inference in the last 24 hours?

Alternatively he might simply have been 'got at' by someone from the club...... and probably someone sporting a fresh sun tan. You want BRFC to scratch your back Alan? Right well you had better bloody well scratch ours!

Joaquin?

Whats the low down?

We've more chance of singning Ronaldo than Joaquin in my opinion, but it does slightly divert attentions away from the fact, that this could be the worse closed season in Rovers history. I really do fee its make or break over the next 4 weeks and is the new manager up to the job? time will tell I guess.

I have just got off the toilet having been lodged there for about 35 mins reading this tosh about Rovers willing to pay £16m YES SIXTEEN MILLION for a player from a Spanish Team.

Now then, we have sen some crud written in the media recently but that takes the AWARD as being the biggest load of rubbish EVER written in the media.

The lad who wrote it clearly suffers from dementia and delusion and if he(or she) really believe that Rovers have £16m to burn on 1 player then they clearly don realise that Jack Walker sadly left us a number of years ago.

Even if Rovers got £20m for Bentley PLUS £14m for RSC as well as £2.5m for Brad added to the £13m warchest already available BRFC would STILL NEVER pay such an outlay for a player such as Joaquin.

Funny, my ribs are broken :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I assume that you didn't bring paper out with you? ^_^

Is there no PR at Rovers, media man/woman that speaks on behalf of the club.2 many rumours flying around, and nobody coming forward to either confirm or deny it.surely the club,jw and ince must know or have heard the stories about Brad.

Totally agree Iceman,in true Rovers fashion the rumours just rumble on..its been like this for as long as i can remember!

Both Den and Theno are bang on the mark about Rovers refusing to sell ANY players this season,we need stability and continuity especially with a new and inexperienced manager in charge. We know we have a top 10 side so why rock the boat?,most certainly NOT for money either......surely its plain for the main men down at Ewood to see?

SPEAK UP ROVERS PLEASE!

there is not one single game, or situation where we would benefit from playing fowler ahead of anyone else. Alarm bells going off, this would be beyond pointless, trying to think of a worse striker that played in the premiership last season - can't think of one!

Kevin Davies??

Villa have somehow managed to get their alledged proposed contract terms into the wide open (not a good business tatic and properly a form a tapping up).

I wonder how they've managed to do that?!

If it took you 35 minutes to read the 6 inch spread I'd be taking a look at yourself ahead of calling others stupid. :tu:

- Think the Brads have got crossed over. How many games will Friedel play if he goes - could be paid retirement.

I'm going to go ahead and say 'probably all of them', since he's by far better than any keeper Villa have, and virtually immune to injury.

because i was serious about not supportign the club anymore, your point means nothing we hav come to expect more, were not a 3rd tier team anymore who get tiny gates, thats like saying if we get relegated it doesnt matter because we were once in the championship, all the re-building of the squad we have done other the past 4 years looks like its all goin to waste if what nicko is saying is actualy true.

Of course it is your choice Pick32, but IMO a genuine supporter sticks with his club throughout any and ALL mishaps and disapointments, including relegation, even several successive relegations. Yes he/she will have a good old moan about it, but desert the club? Never!!

The rumours as far as i have read and seen, and my opinion;

- Thorstein Helstad - Tidy player... Excellent scoring record... Yes please!

- Juliano Belletti - Would rather we went for a younger option ala Warnock on the other side... Boulahrouz would be ideal?

- Freidel - My opinion is the same, don't want him to leave, hope his heart steps up over his wallet and he stays!

- Robinson - If we sign him for anything over 1 million, we'd be paying too much. Can't stand the guy as a footballer or a person. We could do better! Some people have said he is better then Foster and Carson... Would love to know what drugs they are on!

- Foley (Wolves) - A very talented young RB, would like him at Rovers for around 1 million...

- Fowler - Had time to think about this. Could be a good reserve reserve option in case of injuries if he can proove his fitness...

- Santa Cruz - My stance on it if i represented Rovers would be, he is not for sale. It makes me angry that he is linked with Spuds, a team that finished below us. If Ince sells Friedel, Bentley and Cruz, he is as good as signing his resignation before a game is played...

- McFadden - Could be a good option for midfield, bit expensive though considering our budget!

- Castillo - Very good player, not worth 6 million though in my opinion. If we could get him for 3 million it would be a massive transfer!

- Ángel Di María - Im all for bringing in new young talent who show promise at good teams. A winger to push Gamst? Yes please... How much? Is their any truth behind it Nicko?

- Joaquin - Good player, reasonable age... £16 million, HELL NO!

- Michel Salgado, how much would we have to pay in fee and wages?! 33 this year!

So when we finally are linked with a big name everyone is saying we are to small for him?

What's wrong with you people?

totally agree. ww have been tossing ince for weeks for not linking us with anyone other than mk dons players, castillo and fomler.

now we are linked with belletti, joaquin and this maria guy? + robinson and pennant. i hardly see that as a bad thing, even though the joaquin deal is obviously rubbish.

im still torn on the brad/robinson deal though. i think robinson will come back, and maybe rovers are the right place for him? pennnant is good. belletti is good.

if this is the team we start off with im not going to complain:

robinson

belletti-samba-nelsen-warnock

pennant/shocking joaquin/other-castillo/Vogel-Reid-gamst

santa-benni

if we end up with that for a reasonable cost, would it really be so bad??

Where have been linked to Di Maria?

I'd pay 16 million for Joaquin if we had that kind of money; when on form he is one of top 5 wingers in the world imo. However, he woudn't come to rovers nor would we pay his wages or transfer fee.

Salgado- No thanks

Rovers COULD have offered him the same but have not. That's fine, no problem. It is SUCH a good deal that no-one can object to him leaving and making one final 'jackpot' in his career. He has given Rovers plenty and the money makes it an easy decision all round. We could argue all day about whether the manager and chairman should have kept him, but when a deal is THIS big then it makes those arguments irrelevant.

Why does it? Are WE going to gain big? Unless the fee you've heard is a lot higher than 2.5 million Nicko, I don't see how we do. Brad is worth AT LEAST that every season to us. And I reckon he's got at least two good seasons in him. So anything less than 5 million won't benefit us unless we've got some sort of young version of Brad waiting to be snapped up.
