I am in the proccess of terminating my season ticket after 38 years. I have wirtten to the club with my reasons and hope they sanction my request because I want out.

The club at the moment is just a joke with Ince 'in charge' and they just depress me and life is just too short for that.

Shoot me down and wax lyrical about a true fan supports the club through thick and thin (blah, blah bloody blah) but you tell me if you truely believe the product that was on offer last season is the same as the one on offer this season. We have taken 3 steps back with the appointments of the Cockney Clown and his motley crue of nobodies and some of the players are equally hacked off too (fact..I asked a few).

I'll be shuttung the door behind me with a sigh of relief and a bloody great big smile on my face if our small town club with no aspirations will give me my money back.

Bye, please don't slam the door on your way out. Rovers need supporters - not glory hunters. Nothing has happened yet at Rovers this season good or bad - yet you want to quit.

During the past 38 years you would have seen the club go through good and bad times - promotion - relegation - play offs etc. and still bought a season ticket. Yet apart from Hughes going and Ince coming in - nothing else has happened.

You reasons for quiting lack sensible logic.

If he was offered a "double your money" payrise he might!

As Nicko stated the 3 key players ( Rovers, Villa and Brad) in the deal would be happy.

Rovers because they have got a good sum for a player who's 37

Villa as they have got their man.

Brad because he doubles his money in the last years of his playing career.

Personally I would like him to stay, but if he feels he wants to move on then he goes with my good wishes after the years of servive he has given us.

Yeah we will be over the moon if we sell him. Maybe we should organise a gathering/party to celebrate it when he finally leaves.

I don't care what age he is. You don't sell your best players if you can help it. Weird how the change of manager means certain players are now willing to move on........anyway, on replacements, I think Ben Foster would be a great buy.

I am a massive fan of Brad Friedel and he is probably the player I respect the most in football today, but there are certain situations that arise that you have to take advantage of. However much you all try and deny it, Brad didn't look the same old Brad at certain times last season. There were a few times when I began to question if he was finally starting to deteiorate and although he still had his amazing reflexes, his decision making and kicking was worse than ever. Now I'm not saying that this means I don't want him to stay for the next two years and I do think he is a true legend, but if the moneys right and Brad feels its best for his future to move, then I think it is time to let him go and it will be of benefit to rovers.

Agreed.

Need to keep in mind which clubs are after Brad to reflect how good a player he is. Both City and Villa are decent teams who will be there or there abouts for the Uefa spots.

Brad clearly aint past it otherwise they wouldn't be after him.

BRAD FRIEDEL - Villa are prepared to pay Brad a huge deal in salary and length of contract [three years] that no-one else can match. I didn't think Man City had the money - that seems to be correct. Rovers COULD have offered him the same but have not. That's fine, no problem. It is SUCH a good deal that no-one can object to him leaving and making one final 'jackpot' in his career. He has given Rovers plenty and the money makes it an easy decision all round. We could argue all day about whether the manager and chairman should have kept him, but when a deal is THIS big then it makes those arguments irrelevant. The size of the Villa terms only became obvious as things moved on behind the scenes last week. That's what I meant about 'developments.' Brad does not WANT to leave, but he would be an idiot not to take this contract offer. You will also make money on someone who was a free.

PAUL ROBINSON - Now looks firm favourite to come in - by some distance. It will depend on what Tottenham want. The obvious next question is 'will Bentley go the other way?' and that will be answered soon.

TARGETS - There are so many in the papers today that I don't know where to start. I know that Osorio is still alive, Castillo is still complicated, but some of the other names have big question marks. I am not sure that either Pennant or Joaquin are in the frame if they want a right winger - which is still an IF - and I heard another and better name for that position which is currently being discussed.

Sorry.

Something like that. If Brad does want to leave, I think it will be more to do with the weight of the pay packet on offer than any failure of the new management team - otherwise, why not cross the road to team up with Sparky's new mob?

Nicko - so it seems Brad is on his way to Villa? When you say City have no money, how can that be?

I'm not sure about Friedel, is he really that good? Or do you guys just have such affection for him? A three year contract for a 37 year old doesn't sound right to me. Play until he's 40?

Some people on here are ridiculous, the season has not started, we have not sold ONE player, we have not bought ONE player yet the hysetria...

Paul Ince- Young up and coming manager, judge 2 trophies in 2 years and saving Macc from relegation.

Mathias- Good bloke by all accounts Nicko says he has a high standing in the game.

Knox- any body name a better number 2, how many trophies has he won as number 2? Bowen- give him a chance.

The rest of the staff come highly recommended, HOW can you judge BEFORE they start!

Fowler- has NOT signed, he is the best striker of his generation on a potential pay as you play- costing us what?

I mean that Ince is daft, what can Derbyshire, Cruz, Roberts, our youth team players learn from this guy-grow a brain.

Big Brad- he is NOT being forced out, he is willing to leave for MONEY, how is this different from Lucash? How can you blame Ince? Why should we pay him DOUBLE, he has a two year deal!!

Robinson was England number 1, is 28 years old and potentially a great keeper, can anyone remember Big Brad at Liverpool? He was the same age and blundering for them, could be a good signing...

Bentley was going even if Hughes was here.

Ince has said we WILL play ATTACKING football, did we see much of that last year under Hughes?

Tell me if I have missed anything... but I think we should have this conversation once the first ball is kicked.

True, a lot of it is hysteria. We are making comments on speculation which may well turn out to be fact (or hopefully not).

On Hughes and attacking football, 3 top ten finishes will do me fine thanks. Quite difficult on tiny resources to have the team that you want out on the park.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, sorry for my naivety but havn't Aston Villa made an illegal approach if Freidel is aware of contact details?

Maybe someone put all the details in a national newspaper and he read them there?

Hey, sorry to keep disagreeing with you!

I was in the UK at Xmas and had the privilege of watching West Ham (H), Wigan (A) and Arsenal youth team (Carling Cup) and let me tell you - it was crap. Hughes did a fantastic job but some of the stuff dished up was awful!

Trying to reserve my judgement on Ince and stay optimistic because if we win our first three games all this hysteria - or whatever you want to call it - will be forgotten.

The summer isn't over yet and what has happened regarding Hughes leaving isn't ideal but as whole it hasn't been a total disaster. We could have ended up with McLaren trying to sign Boro rejects all summer...

Yes we had another top ten finish, but it's also easy to forget that some of the performances last season were dire and we scraped a lot of points we really didn't deserve, mainly thanks to Santa Cruz and, admittedly, Brad. Never mind taking the club as far as he could, under Hughes we took a step backwards last season, and in my opinion that's why he left, because he couldn't see a way to turn it around without the cash that would be available at City.

can there be a poll over the frriedel situation, personally i'd be in the over my dead body should he ever be allowed to leave pay him more and promise him he's the next manager camp(and he may not have to wait long for that).

£2.5m is nothing, you can't replace what is irriplacable. I would be very interested to know what percentage of people seriously think this remotely equates to good business. He's a goalie age is meaningless if you work hard enough on maintaining your fitness which he clearly does, he's no neville southall, James is older and can anyone see him retiring in the next 2-3 years.

JUST PAY HIM MORE, INVEST IN HIS ACADEMY, DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO KEEP HIM

It is the basics of football sadly that if you are not collectively strong as a team, then you cannot always play 'attacking football'. Only a few teams can do that. Usually the ones with the greater resources.

I am of the same opinion, some of the performances last season were poor. However, success is my priority, not opening yourself up and conceding a shed load of goals!

The point is Brad WANTS to leave, do you want to deny him a final big pay day after the service he has given us? £2.5 million is then a good fee for him.

I want him to STAY but only if he wants to.

He's been a great player but god knows how many years he would have festered in Liverpool's reserves if we didnt come in for him. It's a two-way street.
