Sick and tired of some people on this board.

Those that are criticising the whole Friedel & Robinson debate, just answer a few questions for me.

What do we do in 2/3 years time when Brad hangs up his gloves? (dont reply with "find a better keeper than robinson" because what if we can't, will you have a go at Ince saying you should've gone for Robinson 2/3 years back?)

Would you rather have a 27yr old keeper who has been proven in the premiership, and played for England (so cant be sh!t) and play with us for a good 10 more years or a Brad Friedel thats going to perform at his best for another 2years max?

Its time to let the Big American leave, he's given us some wonderful times and im sure we've done the same for Brad. Brad wants Big final pay day and after all them times he's made us happy do you fans actually want to deny him that?

No matter how much he goes for and no matter when he leaves the fact is Brad gave 110% at each game. Whenever that final whistle blew no matter how crap our performance was he was always there to applaud us fans. At the start and end of every game at Ewood the first and last chant we would hear is " Friedel Friedel".

Brad may go but no one will ever replace the love us rovers fans had for him! Maybe a new keeper will come upon us but the fact is when he has that Rovers badge on his shirt and wears it with pride, I and hopefully most Rovers fans will back him just as we did with Brad. Hopefully in 10 years time Robinson will be up there with the likes of Friedel.

As long as they're are a Rovers player I shall back him, just like I'll back Ince.

Up the Rovers!!

Spot on.

Nicko, I know our chief scout was named today, but you also mentioned that we are close to appointing reserve team manager, who is?

Dave Shannon, ex Liverpool academy director. The new boss likes his Anfield recruits...

You can't honestly believe that Ince would let the media make his mind up over who to buy surely! Ince makes the decision and then the media pick up on it. As i said before it's probably no co-incidence that Eric Steele knows Robinson very well.

Didn't he coach him at leeds?? Robbo was much better then, steele may well be the clincher for Robbo.

LOL, whos HDM? :P

With respect that slant is somewhat different to the way in which you presented the saga originally.

You simply said that Brad did not want to leave, thereby creating the impression that Ince was forcing him out of the club against his will, and whipping up a great deal of ill feeling towards our new manager.

Brad did not want to leave a week ago - I think I said that a few times today and someone else knows the same who posted.

Since then Villa have come in with a serious bid and, above all, a personal package that has changed things.

That's what happens.

Now IF Villa hadn't we would have had something different to discuss...but that IF no longer exists.

Move on.

So we have pool under 16 coach, and there head of recruitment for the academy. Considering pool won the youth cup 06 and 07 it does not sound bad at all, hopefully they can aid in sorting out the academy as well.

Pool have been scouring the golbe for kids in the past two years or so, we should be getting some invailable knowledge with these two.

Nocko,

Is Robinson, going to be part of the Bentley deal.

Now it's late enough for no-one to be sneaking off and telling the other papers...

I think so.

I believe we will know a lot more tomorrow, top-level talks are scheduled to sort out the fees of both Bentley and Robinson.

Rovers want £17 million for Bentley, Spurs want £5 million for Robinson.

Rovers won't drop from that figure, Spurs might well do as they want Robinson out.

Once Robinson is secured, Brad should be off to Villa.

Castillo is a difficult deal because of the 'who owns how much of him' issues. But it could still happen at the right price.

I will keep the right winger name back until there is some genuine progress on it. Worth the wait.

Had a feeling this would be the outcome.

When is Roque due back.

If we sell Bentley for £12 million + Robinson (bearing in mind we will only get around £6 million after Arsenal get their share) im going to be majorly ######!

REALLY?! :angry2:

Ouch!! Gutted. £2.5m for a 37 year old. I was hoping we were going to be signing Bentley from Rovers, not the former. I still live in hope though as I feel our interest is genuine. Please tell me it's not a formality of Bentley going to Spurs? :(

Also Nicko, any news on Darren Bent's current situation?

Thanks for all the news. Think it's really great what you do on here.

Doesn't sound like things are standing still on the scouting front.

Been at a junior football tournament in Rothwell (Leeds) today and counted at least 3 Rovers scouts there.

In fact they already have a development centre near Bradford and will be opening one in Huddersfield shortly

Well we'd only get £5m of the £12m actually, plus a keeper "worth" £5m

Actually...wouldn't we only get £3-4 million?! I think the value of a player is part of the deal too, so we get £3 million plus, say, £5 million Robinson, and Arsenal get the other £8 million!

Awful bit of business. IMO we shouldn't sell Bentley till next summer, just say no to him. He has to perform if he wants to play for England and we're losing two of our three biggest players, plus our manager in the same summer.

I fear we will find this very hard to recover from.

Not as bad as Flowers at home to Liverpool,

Think the pitches might have something to do with both.

You are getting a tremendous goalkeeper mate. Not to mention all the knowledge he could pass on to Brad the younger, potentially setting you up for the next 15 years.

He's worth every penny. Enjoy him, we have.

Which ever way you play around with the figures, Arsenal will value the deal at 17mill for DB

17 mill - 50 % = 8.5 mill - 3 mill or 3.5 mill not sure = 5.5 or 5 mill to Arsenal

we get 12 - 5.5 or 5 + 2.5 for Brad,

So that's about 8mil + a keeper.

l

I think.

Let me make this clear.

ARSENAL DO NOT HAVE A 50% SELL-ON CLAUSE ON DAVID BENTLEY!! I know this for a fact, i just cannot reveal my source. He is an ex player, still involved at the club and used to be a good friend of Uncle Jack.

How?

£12million for Bentley, £9million profit, so we'll get £3million plus £4.5 million, my caluclations show we'd get £7.5million + Robinson

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Gladly, :)

The sale of Bentley is all that Arsenal are interested in. His value in this sale is £17m regardless of what we pay for Robinson. Arsenal get half the profit over £3m therefore £7m. If Spurs pay us £12m cash we pass on to Arsenal £7m leaving us with £5m cash.

That's if Nicko's 50% sell-on figure is right of course. :)
